On the arrival in Novoazovsk of special forces from the 45th Special Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the RF Armed Forces.

“The transfer to the settlement was confirmed. Novoazovsk subdivisions of the 45th separate special-purpose brigade (Kubinka, Moscow region) of the Airborne Forces of the RF Armed Forces, in connection with which it is expected that the sabotage and reconnaissance activities of the Russian occupation forces in the Mariupol direction will intensify, ”the intelligence report said.

In June 2016, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine named several names of the Russian military from the 45th Special Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the RF Armed Forces, providing their photographs and personal data. At the same time, the scouts, as always, limited themselves to words without any photo or video evidence of the presence of military personnel in the occupied part of Donbass. We hope that in the future such evidence will be removed from the classification of secrecy, and these materials will be presented to the general public and will be reflected in the cases of the international court.

Until that happens, the InformNapalm team presents its information about the presence of Russian saboteurs from the 45th Specialized Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the RF Armed Forces in Ukraine.

The photo, uploaded on August 31, 2016 and subsequently deleted, was taken on the roof of the Utes boarding house, 3 km from the village. Shirokino (47.109467, 37.8733277).

It should be noted that this boarding house, as well as the nearby Parus and Donchanka, have long been not places of recreation for civilians, but barracks and positions of Russian “vacationers” who constantly come to “Ukrainian business trips”.

In the photo below, Mikhail Rusinov measures the depth of the Sea of Azov near the recreation center of the KKTs plant named after Ilyich "Alexandria" (settlement Bezymennoe) (47.101058, 37.934254).

And in June 2016, he even met with local representatives of the opposite sex in the village. Khreschatytskoe (former Krasnoarmeiskoe) Novoazovskiy district. The dating site apparently helped at last (47.233526, 37.926393).

Thus, we can assert that representatives of the 45th Specialized Brigade are directly involved in hostilities in the Donbas. Let's not forget that this same unit was directly involved in the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. As you can see, since 2014 it has been conducting sabotage and reconnaissance operations in the occupied part of Donbass.

Material prepared

In Chechnya, the special forces of the Airborne Forces are well known. The mere rumor of his appearance forced the militants to abandon their positions and hastily leave. During the first Chechen war, Dudayev promised to pay a huge sum to anyone who can capture at least one soldier of the 45th regiment. But the prize was never claimed - not a single spetsnaz soldier, neither alive nor dead, fell into the hands of the enemy.

The 45th regiment is one of the youngest units of the Russian army, it was formed on the basis of the 218th and 901st special-purpose battalions, which celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. During the Cold War, when the troops were preparing for a "fight to the fullest," using weapons of mass destruction, the army special forces had to solve the corresponding tasks. These units were intended for deep reconnaissance and sabotage (primarily against nuclear targets) behind enemy lines. And if necessary, they could ensure the landing of troops on enemy territory. Despite the fact that the Special Forces of the Airborne Forces was created after the end of the Cold War, it is fully prepared for solving such tasks in the interests of the Airborne Forces. But this is only one side of the coin.

Non-lethal weapon
Since the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan, our Armed Forces have been continuously participating in various wars and conflicts. So, by the time the formation of the 45th regiment began, the scouts of the Airborne Forces had accumulated a wealth of combat experience. And this experience, together with rethought foreign developments (a lot was borrowed from the British SAS, including the motto "The strongest wins"), was fully implemented when creating a new part. So the main task of the Special Forces of the Airborne Forces is to solve any problems in conditions of local conflicts. In this sense, the 45th regiment is a unique, the only unit in the Russian Armed Forces that has everything necessary for this. In addition to two special-purpose battalions, it includes a detachment of unmanned aerial vehicles, a detachment of psychological operations, and a special detachment, staffed only by officers, warrant officers and contract soldiers, designed to solve highly complex and especially important tasks. Including anti-terrorist ones. A kind of "mini-Alpha" for the destruction of terrorists at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense.
The goal of psychological operations is to disorient, demoralize the enemy, undermine faith in victory, and force him to end resistance. In addition, the target of psychological operations can be the population of the combat area, neutral or hostile. The importance of the psychological impact on the enemy was great throughout the entire military history, but it especially increased in our information age. Moreover, in conflicts of "low intensity", where there is no front line, and the definition of people according to the principle "friend or foe" can be rather arbitrary. For example, the Americans are well aware of this, who annually spend several times more on "non-lethal weapons" than on nuclear weapons. And this approach justifies itself. Take, for example, the actions of US troops in Panama and Haiti, where the forces of psychological operations played a decisive role.
The Russian Armed Forces have seriously lagged behind the West in these matters. All the more valuable is the unique experience of the psychological warfare unit created within the 45th regiment.
In addition to the marching printing house and equipment with sound-amplifying equipment, the psychological operations unit has a television station capable of broadcasting and relaying programs within a radius of 10 km. There is a small studio where you can edit and dub a TV program. All equipment is located in the GAZ-66 shelters, which ensures high mobility and efficiency of work. Thus, the detachment has serious capabilities to influence public opinion in the combat zone.

What special forces are capable of
But the core of the 45th regiment is, of course, spetsnaz units. In this sense, the part did not arise from scratch. The 218th and 901st Special Forces Battalions, brought together into it, already had significant experience and brilliant victories behind them. So the soldiers of the 218th battalion carried out the operation of "peace enforcement", which, in fact, put an end to the bloody Transnistrian conflict. The 901st battalion was stationed in Sukhumi just before the start of the Georgian-Abkhaz war, and immediately found itself in the very epicenter of the unfolding events. The paratroopers ensured the evacuation of refugees - mainly vacationers caught in the war.
But, fortunately, the special forces have the opportunity to prove themselves not only in such a dramatic situation. For several years in a row, at the international special forces competitions that take place in Bulgaria, the fighters of the 45th regiment take first place, far leaving behind both the "green berets" and the SAS team.

Forge of universal soldiers
The main contingent of special forces battalions are conscripts. If several years ago the officers of the regiment had the opportunity to choose the best from the recruits, today the situation has changed. For the special forces of the Airborne Forces, a quota has been established - up to 10% of conscripts sent to the regiment may have a criminal record. The regiment's officers state that in comparison with previous years, the conscripts are less and less consistent with the level required for service in the special forces. Until recently, almost all recruits had sports categories, but today there are only a few. Previously, almost every third person had a higher or secondary technical education. And now a recruit with a completed secondary is already a gift.
But even from such a problematic material in the regiment they make a super-soldier in the full sense of the word. First of all, the recruit undergoes a series of psychological and physical tests here to determine his readiness to serve in the special forces. Depending on his personal characteristics, his future military specialty is determined. For example, people are calm, balanced and psychologically stable, phlegmatic, are the best suited for work as a sniper or sapper. Some of the recruits are screened out immediately - they go to the support units, or are transferred to other units.
Then training begins. To say that service in the special forces is "not honey" is, in general, almost nothing to say. March throws are replaced by night shooting, flowing into tactical exercises, which culminate in facade mountaineering, or, say, sapper training. Not everyone can keep up with this rhythm either. As a result, six months later, no more than 40% of the "young" remain in the spetsnaz companies: someone himself begins to ask for a transfer to another unit, someone is expelled by the commander. The vacancies that have arisen are filled at the expense of the best fighters of the airborne divisions. And by the end of the first year of service, the green "rookies" turn out to be competent fighters, capable of performing any task, perfectly wielding weapons, communications and subversive equipment.
It must be said that, despite the enormous workload, there are no fewer people wishing to get into the 45th. Firstly, young guys are simply interested here. Secondly, the prestige of service in the special forces of the Airborne Forces is very high. And, thirdly, there is no "bullying" in its classical form. The regiment's officers are convinced that human dignity and self-respect are the necessary qualities of a special forces soldier, due to the specifics of his service, he is obliged to take responsibility and take initiative. And a man is broken, psychologically depressed, for reconnaissance - ballast. And, finally, the very fact of serving in the 45th separate is an excellent recommendation for entering the service in other law enforcement agencies to work in the security service or security structure.

From Chechnya to Sokolniki
The precious combat experience accumulated by the regiment, as is usually the case with us, is almost not in demand. But the command of the regiment decides this issue on its own. Fortunately, the psychological operations unit has its own printing house - the commandos print their own instructions and manuals. In addition, on the basis of the regiment, a certain training center has emerged, where not only paratroopers are trained.
Today, when full-scale hostilities in Chechnya have ceased, the role of special forces capable of effectively conducting raiding, search and other reconnaissance activities is increasing many times over. Consequently, the withdrawal of the 45th regiment from Chechnya is not expected in the foreseeable future.
Now the special forces are working as part of a consolidated detachment stationed in the mountainous part of the republic near the village of Khatuni. This place, where the Vedenskoye and Sharoargunskoye gorges meet, is of great importance. Therefore, the responsibility is great, and the range of tasks solved by the consolidated detachment is wide. In addition to the soldiers of the Special Forces of the Airborne Forces, it includes units of the FSB, special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Internal Troops and the Ministry of Justice. All have their own functions within the framework of a common task. Combat coordination begins in preparation for a planned replacement, on the basis of the 45th regiment. The main emphasis is placed on tactical, special and fire training, as well as on issues of life support. The loads are very significant - in three months of training, the fighters lose from 5 to 8 kg of weight, despite the fact that they receive enhanced nutrition.
It is known that SOBR and OMON in the Caucasus very often have to perform tasks that are not typical for them. As the experience of the "Khatuninsky" detachment shows, officers of the militia special forces, after joint training with their fellow paratroopers, successfully operate in emergency, "non-militia" situations. In addition, having met and made friends before arriving in Chechnya, having worked out in detail all aspects of the upcoming operations, people act as a single team. Regardless of departmental subordination.
Part of the regiment's units are stationed in Sokolniki in the barracks of the Preobrazhensky regiment. But this is not the only circumstance that makes the special forces fight for the high honor of being officially called the "Preobrazhensky regiment".
As you know, the Preobrazhensky regiment was the first regiment of the regular army of Russia. And the 45th is also, in a sense, the first regiment of the Armed Forces of the future, which has yet to be created. This is both a completely new, comprehensive approach to solving problems, and a completely different attitude to personnel, not as a consumable, but as professionals who are of great value. It is known that Peter I considered his "amusing" ones as the backbone of the future Russian army. A separate reconnaissance regiment of the Airborne Forces, like the old Preobrazhensky regiment, became the forge of experienced special forces officers. Many of those who passed his school serve today in "Alpha", "Vympel", "Omega", in other special forces of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the Federal Border Guard Service. But along with this, officers who have served in the regiment for several years do not want to be transferred to other units, even despite the fact that career opportunities in the regiment are severely limited. Indeed, for many, he is a real family, and they cannot and do not want to sever ties with it.
In the unit, a special psychological climate has developed, the leading values of which are absolute professionalism, corporatism, one might even say nepotism in the best sense of the word. This is best seen in the example of those who left for the reserve. Those of them, who managed to get a good job in life, have taken upon themselves the material support of those who are fighting in Chechnya. Thanks to their "sponsorship", the commandos are probably the best equipped in the group: jackets and trousers made of membrane fabrics, light warm sleeping bags, comfortable waterproof boots, modern optics and night vision devices, communications equipment.
But the regiment's veterans help not only with money. There was also such a case: by the winter of 1999, the time had come to replace the fighters who had been fighting in the Caucasus since the rebel invasion of Dagestan. But there was actually no one to change. In the "interwar period" the regiment was reduced by one battalion, and most of the personnel were in Chechnya. The situation is critical: won't you send newly drafted and untrained soldiers to war?
Then, the veterans of the regiment who had gone into the reserve, decided to "shake off the old days" and help their native regiment. Leaving prestigious, high-paying jobs, concluding six-month contracts, and forming their own special group, they went to the Caucasus. The first thing for them was the battle at Zandag, where the "veteran" group occupied an important height and for four hours repelled the fierce attacks of the enemy. Thanks to the veterans, the regiment was able to replenish itself and prepare a replacement with high quality.
For all ten years of its existence, the special forces of the Airborne Forces have not come out of wars. Transnistria, Abkhazia, Dagestan, both Chechen campaigns, Bosnia, Kosovo - more than one armed conflict can not do without the participation of the soldiers of the 45th separate. During this time, there was everything: the pennant of the Minister of Defense "for courage and military valor" and five heroes of Russia from among the soldiers of the regiment. There were, oddly enough, moments when various accusations were made against the unit.
But, in spite of everything, the regiment was, is and remains the true elite of the Russian Army. And in the second campaign, the special forces of the Airborne Forces showed themselves in the best possible way. Dozens of destroyed gangs and discovered militant bases, hundreds of barrels of weapons, kilograms of explosives and drugs seized from secret warehouses - all this was included in the track record of the Separate Intelligence Agency. This combat unit now lives and develops exclusively thanks to the enthusiasm, and even the "quixotism" of its officers. The result of their labors is a perfectly functioning combat organism, a universal tool for solving the most difficult tasks. A real regiment of the future.

It is worth noting that in the 45th brigade (regiment) of the Airborne Forces, servicemen receive an additional 50% of the salary for military service in a special purpose unit.

Service under the contract of the Airborne Forces reviews

Our Airborne Forces are developing rapidly. More and more new models of modern military equipment are entering service. This means that the Airborne Forces will constantly require professional military personnel.

As for the reviews, I would like to say that it depends on the military unit where the service will take place, and sometimes on the military itself. What can you say about this? How is or was your contract in the airborne forces?

Sergeant of the 45th separate reconnaissance regiment of the special purpose of the Airborne Forces Valery K., grenade launcher of the 4th reconnaissance group of the 1st reconnaissance company 901 of the separate battalion of the Special Forces.

By the time I was drafted into the army (June 1994), I already had a sports grade in rock climbing and prizes in youth competitions in the city of Apatity, Murmansk region - I lived there until the mid-90s. Therefore, they took me to the 45th regiment, I did not fit in height, they took guys with a height of 180 cm, but in those years there was a wild shortage of people, besides, I already had several parachute jumps, we jumped in the winter of 1989 year at the Murmashi airfield. In general, the kid came with jumps and rock-climbing categories - a ready-made saboteur practically. The military commissar told me: "You don't fit in height, but with your athletic training, we can send you to the special forces. Understand, it will be very difficult for you ... Are you ready?" And in the parachute club where we trained, there were Afghan instructors, healthy, cheerful men in vests, some with military awards. Of course, I also wanted to be like them! I say: "Of course I can handle it!" And from the very beginning I was so determined to go to the battle company, and not to support. So I got into the 45th regiment.

901 SEPARATE BATTLES FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE

The 45th regiment at that time consisted of two battalions - a 218 separate battalion (commanded by Major Andrei Anatolyevich Nepryakhin, the future Hero of Russia) and 901 separate battalions (commanded by Major Nikolai Sergeevich Nikulnikov), a three-company structure of 4 reconnaissance groups in each company. The regiment also included auxiliary units - a communications company (signalmen were scattered among reconnaissance groups), a special weapons company, an armored personnel carrier driver and gunners, and AGS crews. In the reconnaissance, the number was 52-54 people, so that a consolidated detachment of about 150 people acted in Grozny: 2 company (commander - Captain Andrey Vladimirovich Zelenkovsky) 218 Special Forces, 1st (commander - Senior Lieutenant Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Nikolakhin) and 3rd ( commander - Captain Cherdantsev) of company 901 of the Special Forces.

I can describe all my direct commanders as very professional, cruel and very funny people (such is a complex combination). I am immensely grateful to them, and to this day, a quarter after the Grozny battles, I remember them. But this is not forgotten ...

"Healthy, bald, in their appearance and habits they looked more like bandits than officers of the Red Army. It was not for nothing that at the time at the checkpoint citizens were constantly grazing in black Mercedes cars with offers to earn extra money - to overwhelm someone in Moscow ..." 1

I now understand that by and large all our officers were real Soviet officers, in the best sense of the word. An acquaintance of mine served ten years later in 2005 in the intelligence service of the GRU, and he told how their company commander arranged extortions from personnel. So, this, in principle, could not be with us, the consciousness of people at that, still early post-Soviet period, did not allow it.

The hazing was also very cruel. The officers approached this phenomenon in different ways: someone tried not to pay attention, someone, like the political officer of the company Bannikov, fought as best he could office with a rubber stick and dispersed the old servicemen), one of the officers, on the contrary, tried to put this phenomenon at his service. Our commander of the 4th group, Captain Vladimir Vladimirovich Glukhovsky, was engaged in serious education, and he turned our group into a truly well-coordinated team.

"Army friends ... All this is a myth, fiction, do not believe anyone who says that only in the army you can find real friends. Who can be called a friend here? Mordvin Evdokimov, who before the army was engaged in robbing passers-by at Moscow train stations and fled to the army from A psychotic Tatar Zimadeev, who is also a karateka, he knows how to jump somersaults over the fence and at the same time shoot from a machine gun. For all domestic disputes he has one argument - a kick in the head. Kazakh named Batyr, who speaks Russian with difficulty? Or my compatriot from Peter Kokorin, who spent all his childhood in a special boarding school and did not know the multiplication table at the age of twenty? They could not be my friends. " 1

"In the part where they did not take the guys less than eighty meters tall and where there was a cult of physical strength, they began to hate me immediately, simply because of my small stature.

With the coming of night, after lights out, the old-timers got the idea that I should be the one to clean their boots and hem their collars. Of course, after all, it seemed to them that it was much easier to mentally break a person who is as tall as your chest and is thirty kilograms lighter.

All attempts to "come to an agreement" ended in a simple beating.

I didn’t say anything afterwards, I just approached and beat back once, knowing that in a few seconds I would be examining the interior of the barracks from some unusual angle, lying with my head turned out between the bedside table and the bed.

But I had to do this blow from time to time.

They were a little discouraged by the fact that I laid the parachute faster than anyone in the company, I could accurately navigate the map, I could translate phrases in English from the training manual for interrogating prisoners of war, I pulled myself up most of all at the crossroads, and never died on marches.

Who gave this little nerd a grenade launcher? Are you completely crazy? - officers from another battalion reacted to me. After all, in addition to the machine gun, I also had to carry a grenade launcher with ammunition.

Everything is fine! Do your grenade launchers die on the march? - Lieutenant Pastukh defended me with the castle of our reconnaissance group.

Well, they are dying, the fighters are constantly dragging them in their arms ...

And ours does not die! He is our only "undying"! - The shepherd alone believed in me, maybe because he was just as short and pensive.

I was stubborn and patient, and after a year even those who hated me began to respect me. " 1

Hazing is a complex mutual phenomenon, in which not only old-timers are to blame, and not all forms are bad. And whoever has not seen this will never understand. In the future, reconnaissance groups tried to form one conscription from the guys, but this did not always help.

“Being a soldier of the smallest stature, and even serving in the fourth reconnaissance group, means always and everywhere to be the last in line.

To the bathhouse, to the dining room, to receive uniforms.

And now, I stood in the central aisle in front of the storehouse, anxiously watching the stack of frayed pea jackets melting.

A year ago, our unit left Abkhazia, and the thrifty company commander took out a whole truck from there, as it seemed then unnecessary junk. These jackets have come a long way and if they could talk they could tell a lot.

Are those bullet holes? - a colleague of my call, standing in front of the window into the light, looked at the mysterious holes in the just received pea jacket.

Is that blood? .. - he turned to us showing strange brown spots on the fabric.

I won't wear it !!

Take it! Do not wander around! - sternly threw one of the "old men" - at night it will become cold in the forest, put on, and you will be glad!

The first three-day reconnaissance trip awaited us, and since they called us in June, we were not entitled to winter uniforms.

In the army, everything is on schedule.

The transition to winter uniform is set on October 15, which means that up to this moment everyone is wearing summer camouflage, and it does not matter that it is already the end of September and frost in the mornings.

You're out of luck! - the company commander said cheerfully, pointing to the empty shelves of the rack, he gave these jackets personally.

Maybe ... maybe at least the one who was shot through?

There are no more pea jackets! Take a raincoat from the OZK, everything will be warmer for the night - he handed me a rubber parcel.

It was a very cold three days.

When I went to bed, I covered my head with this cloak, and from breathing it was covered with perspiration from the inside, which by morning turned into frost.

On the third day of continuous trembling, I heard, I practically felt a strange click in my head, as if some kind of toggle switch had been switched.

And with that click I suddenly stopped shaking and felt warm.

I will acquire the ability to freeze again only seven years after leaving the army. " 2

"BEFORE LEAVING EVERYONE WERE READY IN THREE DAYS"

I remember very well how the dispatch took place in Kubinka, to the battalion's PPD. On the 20th of November 1994, on Saturday, we were in the garrison cinema on the territory of the tank unit. During the movie show, a messenger came running and shouted into the hall: "First company, get out!"

We ran out and went to the location of the company. There were already gatherings. It was announced that the consolidated reconnaissance group was going to Chechnya. The first reconnaissance group was assembled from us, they laid out the equipment in the central aisle for verification. The mood before departure was fighting, they turned to the company commander with a request to include us in the combat formation. To which he replied: "Do not worry, soon we will all fly there." (One couple, however, dristanul. And the most rocking and bullish. In one night, from the center turned into a bummer. But then no one condemned them. But they remained outcasts until the end of the service.) Then a new composition of the advanced detachment was formed, which our group also entered. Before leaving, everyone was ready in three days, and slept on rolled up mattresses. The bed linen was handed over, and we lay with weapons on the same shell nets. Before sending, we wrote letters to our parents that we were going to jump to Pskov. Maybe in Moscow (the 218th battalion was stationed in Sokolniki.) And there were parents at the checkpoint, but we had no one. The departure took place on November 27. Upon arrival in Mozdok, we spent the night in the location of the V-shnoy part. This night was very memorable, because the VVs in the barracks had a TV on the wall, and the singer Freddie Mercury was spinning there. Then we moved to the command post at the airfield, and soon all the others flew in, and we moved to the slipways near the takeoff. On the very first night, my grandfathers poked me a little with a knife in order to withdraw cash, but bad luck - I had no cash! Looking ahead, I will say right away that during the hostilities in Grozny, hazing disappeared completely, in those conditions hazing was impossible.

Upon arrival in Mozdok, they immediately went on guard to protect the personal train of the Minister of Defense P. Grachev, as well as his helicopter and the plane on which he flew to Moscow. So they changed constantly: on guard - from the guard, to classes, to shooting. In Grozny we operated in three companies, two others were substitutes, and one company was in reserve. Reserve companies guarded Grachev's train.

"Winter. Mozdok. Chilly wind with sleet. We have been on it for the third day. We cannot hide from it, because we are at the airfield."

My friend and I are on guard. There is no one to replace us, as our company is chasing a Chechen reconnaissance group through the forests.

The day before yesterday we guarded the plane of the Minister of Defense, yesterday we guarded the helicopter of the Minister of Defense, today we are guarding the mobile headquarters of the Minister of Defense.

We wait for the inspector to leave, take off our helmets and sit in them, like in pots. Back to back. It's warmer this way. Falling asleep, I think that a Chechen reconnaissance group will find us and cut our throats. "And then everything will end ..." - I think even with some relief and fall into a dream. The snow covers us with a wet blanket. " 1

Of course, in addition to protecting the facilities, the personnel of some reconnaissance groups carried out missions for reconnaissance of approaches to Grozny.

Once my 4th reconnaissance group carried out an assignment to search for a highlighted Chechen reconnaissance group. True, they were not found.

On December 30, Captain Glukhovsky gave the order to prepare for a flight to the mountainous regions, supposed for tomorrow, December 31st. In addition to the ammunition load, we were given each kilogram of forty different charges of explosives, it was assumed that we would have to start blowing up some bridges, the details were not specified. On the 31st we were ready to take off, and at about 14:15 a combined detachment of about 30 people embarked on two Mi-8s. But an hour later, the takeoff was canceled, nevertheless the order was given to be at the airfield. At 17-18 o'clock the team came to load again, and this time we flew out. We stayed in the air for almost an hour. We were covered by three Mi-24s. In the mountains, at the time of disembarkation, the pilot found a Chechen armored personnel carrier standing in the bushes, and our helicopter, taking off sharply, left the point of disembarkation. The militants, apparently, were afraid of the Mi-24 and did not open fire. For a long time it was a mystery to me where they wanted to send us for the first time, and after 20 years from some source, I learned that it was planned to land at the central stadium of Grozny, just where the reserve of Dudayev's forces was located. We were very lucky that the flight was canceled.

“There were about 20 of us left from the special operations department. The guys from the 45th reconnaissance regiment were supposed to act with us. They raised us again on alarm, brought us to the airfield in Mozdok to be taken by helicopters to the center of Grozny, to the stadium. that we will take Dudaev's palace in about the same way as we took Amin's palace in December 1979.<...>We never flew to the center of Grozny. As the saying goes, what is above is below. A terrible inconsistency in the actions of different types of troops was discovered. It turned out that the helicopters could not take off, because one helicopter pilot had not yet had lunch, another had not refueled yet, and the third was on duty at all. As a result, already on January 1, at 00 hours 10 minutes, we were given the order: "Let the cars go!" - the city was to be entered by land.<...>By the evening of that day, having already entered the city with a tank column, we learned from our scouts that by the time of that failed landing, the stadium planned as a springboard for her was full of well-armed and at the same time not subordinate to anyone: it was on December 31 that it was brought there the weapons in the warehouses were distributed without restrictions to all those wishing to defend "free Ichkeria". So our three helicopters, most likely, would have burned over this stadium. " 3

The leadership developed a "brilliant plan": when we begin to bring troops into the city from the north, the militants will "get scared" and run south, and there, on the main routes, they will be awaited by predetermined ambushes. These ambushes we had to organize, and this explains the issuance of 40 kilograms of explosives for each.

We are celebrating the new year near the boathouses after a failed landing in the mountains. Somewhere in the dark in the ranks - me.

Returning to Mozdok on the evening of the 31st, we immediately stepped in to guard Grachev's train. I celebrated the New Year by guarding this train. Through the field, there were posts of BB-shniks, and when the chimes struck, they opened fire with tracers in our direction, apparently believing that there could be no one in the field. My friend and I fell behind a thick poplar, branches cut by bullets fell on us, he took out a can of beer stolen from an "officer's" gift, and lying behind a poplar, we drank it in honor of the coming New Year.

By the way, here is a very good video taken by an officer from the 901st battalion. All our officers are here, almost all the guys from our group. I will comment on this video, summing up the "peaceful" part of the service - from the PPD in Kubinka to the location in the boathouses at the Mozdok airfield. There were a lot of videos on the web on the shelf, but these videos disappear from time to time, perhaps the owners delete their accounts.

Loading before departure at the central parade ground of the battalion.

01:00. Kombat Nikulnikov and the commander of the 3rd company Cherdantsev is standing with his back.

01:46. Senior Lieutenant Konoplyannikov, commander of the first reconnaissance group. On January 5, 1995, in the hospital, he will receive a bullet in the head, he will be saved by the "Sphere": the bullet will pierce the steel, Kevlar, lining, all layers, and piercing the skin, it will stick into the skull, but all the consequences are a hefty bump.

01:53. The high officer is Major Cherushev, in my opinion he will later become the battalion commander after Nikulnikov.

14:21. Gift boxes from Bank Menatep. We called black beanie hats "menatepovs". Ironically, just before the storming of Grozny, we received gifts from "Menatep" - such cardboard boxes, they were brought in on the 30th. The boxes were "officer" and "soldier". They all had writing materials: notebooks, fountain pens, and sweaters and hats like that. The "officer's" boxes still contained a bottle of champagne and a can of imported beer. Whoever put together these sets was very well versed in what a soldier needs. Many years later, to be honest, I am stunned, knowing the arrogance of the current oligarchs: send a gift to a soldier and also consult with a knowledgeable specialist what exactly a soldier needs. It was necessary to condescend ... The fact is that a fucking soldier's helmet on a fur army hat fits only on the top of the head, and the whole point in the helmet disappears, but here they sent hats - the consultant clearly understood the situation.

So we ran in these hats. In general, it turned out that all uniforms and equipment are very poorly suited for active combat operations. Upon arrival at the PPD in Kubinka, these hats were taken to the warehouse by order.

A few years later, in the St. Petersburg metro, I saw a man in such a hat. I stood for a long time and looked at him, trying to understand whether he was in Grozny ...

15:41. On the right in the frame is Lieutenant Andrei Gridnev, the future Hero of Russia. I remember how Gridnev just came to the unit from the school as a young lieutenant, he was only 21 or 22 years old, he was assigned to our company as Konoplyannikov's deputy, he was immediately very motivated to serve. From the first days, Gridnev was seriously involved in the preparation and education of the children from the group, they regularly ran additional crosses with him, and every evening he came and made them pour ice water on them (in fact, we did not have hot water in the company then). They called it "Karbyshev's bath". He gave the impression of a very tough person. But I remember when his wife arrived at the unit, when he already got a job in the officer's hostel, and we helped him bring in furniture and things, he secretly took a box with jars of raspberry jam from his wife, and in the dark around the corner of the hostel he shoved us, saying : "Here, guys, eat some jam!" I remember I was very moved. After Konoplyannikov was wounded on January 5, Gridnev will take command of the reconnaissance group and will successfully lead it. The guys from the group recalled that he was very groovy in battle, they laughed, saying: "Lieutenant Gridnev and ten of his squires are fighting," because he constantly ran from one soldier to another, firing from a grenade launcher, then from a machine gun he would take away the rifle from the sniper, the guys were laughing that if they started giving him shells, he would throw shells at the militants' positions even without a gun. And when I found out that he was given the star of the Hero, I was not surprised at all.

15:53. The company commander Nikolakhin and on the left in a winter hat and camouflage uniform are the castle mates and the commander of a consolidated group of snipers (included soldiers armed with SVD and VSS) Konstantin Mikhailovich Golubev, who will die on January 8, 1995. They were friends, and Nikolakhin was very worried about his death.

16:11. Our political officer Bannikov waves his hand.

16:15. A big mustachioed man - the battalion's main demolitionist, I don't remember his name. When the classes on subversive training took place, he said: "Explosives can be made from last year's leaves, who will remain on the contract, I will tell you how." Behind him is a healthy guy - our machine gunner Yura Sannikov, from Siberia, a very kind guy, one of two in a company with a higher education.

The camera moves to the right, and we again see Gridnev and Lieutenant Gonta, a tough man, on the second mission he will be the commander of a combined reconnaissance group, in which I will be, we will destroy an ambush at an altitude of 970 in the Serzhen-Yurt area under his leadership. Then I will have a good relationship with him. In Grozny, he was the commander of the second reconnaissance group. At the very edge of the frame on the right - Dima T., a sergeant from our reconnaissance group, after the storming of Grozny was transferred to the RMO. Now in Europe as a chef in one of the hotels.

17:20. The formation of the officers of our 1st company. The highest in the ranks is Glukhovsky! Vladimir Glukhovsky, at the age of 27, at that time was already a very experienced officer, who commanded a reconnaissance group in Transnistria in a separate 818 special forces company, subordinate directly to the army commander of the 14th army Lebed, who was carrying out complex combat missions, and was disbanded after the withdrawal from Transnistria. Glukhovsky was sent to our regiment, and it so happened that he - the captain, the former commander of the group, who already had a wound, fell into the subordination of the junior senior lieutenant Nikolakhin. Glukhovsky was a man of character, very energetic and treated the war like a sport. I have never seen him scared or tired, although he sometimes slept less than ours.

For Glukhovsky, the last in the ranks of his deputy. Vadim Pastukh. On his second mission in the summer of 1995, Pastukh will be the commander of the support group for a detachment of unmanned aerial vehicles. And the commander of this unit will be Sergei Makarov, the second in the ranks. In the event that a drone was shot down by militants, the Pastukh group was supposed to ensure its search and return.

"THE CITY WAS DESTROYED, MANY HOUSES BURNED"

I don’t remember exactly, but it seems that on January 1, 1995 in the "Urals" we moved to Grozny in two companies: the 2nd 218th battalion and our 1st 901st battalion. The second company, led by Major Nepryakhin, entered first. The third company of our battalion entered Grozny one or two days later than us.

I always believed that they entered the city on January 1st late in the evening. The day before there was a turmoil: departures, arrivals, train security ... Perhaps one day (December 31, 1994) flew out of my memory.

Before leaving for Grozny, near the slipways, we tied the Urals with boxes of sand, and that was during the day, I remember exactly. The thaw began, and, by the way, they brought by car "sphere" helmets, which the officers immediately grabbed, but they brought few helmets, so not even all the officers had enough. Apparently, this happened in the afternoon of January 1, and we moved forward, respectively, on the second, because on December 31 we were busy with these attempts to fly somewhere, and the Urals were not tied with boxes that day. But I was always sure that the entrance to the city took place on the first of January.

The video shows the metal farms of the cannery, where infantry machine gunners were lying at all sites, who began to beat in bursts at any sound.

Then, if the 218th battalion reached the canned food at about the time indicated on the timer in the video footage of Lyubimov's film, then it turns out that our company pulled up by the night after them. Nepryakhin in the video says that they went in with a fight. And then we, the first company of the 901st battalion, moved separately (our convoy was not large, only a few cars). Grozny is only about 100 kilometers from Mozdok.

We were moving in a column behind the second company of the 218th battalion, already in the dark. The city was destroyed, there was no electric lighting, but many houses were on fire. At one moment a mortar mine exploded in front of our Ural. The driver stopped, and immediately the second mine lay behind the car. I saw how Glukhovsky, who was sitting at the edge of the body, ran to the cab and began pounding on it with his fist, shouting: "Forward!" The driver started to move, and where we were standing, a third mine exploded. One of the mines landed in a private house, which was located in the direction of travel on the left side. We entered the cannery late at night on January 1st. The company is located in a two-story building on the second floor. My friend and I were immediately put on guard to guard the Urals. The mortar shelling continued and several mines exploded nearby.

The infantry was already at the plant, the remnants of some parts. In the dark, we met a surviving warrant officer from the Maikop brigade, who told about the death of their column, about how the Chechens shot the crews of cars leaving the burning equipment. The cannery was generally a safe place despite occasional shelling. All the stories about compote from this plant - however, we drank compote all the time, no one broke these cans (clearly referring to a scene from the feature film by A.G. Nevzorov "Purgatory", 1997: "What are you smashing banks, why?")

Over time, the plant became a kind of springboard, where suitable parts were pulled up.

"[The plant] consisted of a number of barrack-type premises, but built very thoroughly. Some of them housed the headquarters of units, in others - units withdrawn from battle and their armored vehicles. Some of the warehouses were still filled with canned juices and compotes. a human stream was constantly stretching, carrying away canned jars. " 4

After entering the cannery, Glukhovsky ordered to find wooden pallets, and from these pallets to build a sleeping floor in the two-story building where we settled down. I must say that Glukhovsky was very serious about organizing everyday life and always made him create the most comfortable conditions for sleep and rest. He immediately dispatched one of our soldiers to make lamps from shell casings. It turned out that this ancient proven method of lighting has no alternative. Later, when a mortar attack is delivered to the building, we will move to the basement, and there our commander will also force us to equip sleeping places, build a furnace from a barrel and make a dozen lamps from shells. This habit of equipping the locations as comfortably as possible will remain with us until the end of the service.

On the same day, a captured artillery spotter will be brought in. Then there was a version about "a captain dressed in a uniform," I don't know if they are different people or not. But the spotter is not a myth, and I saw him myself.

Officer 22 obbrSpN Vyacheslav Dmitriev:“For some time we were bothered by mortar shelling, from which there was no escape. This continued until the spotter was caught. The cannery was checked, the number of the unit in the documents did not match any number of the military units that entered Grozny, and the artillery compass and the Japanese radio station dispelled all doubts. that he was sent to Mozdok to the filtration point of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; others, who were shot right there, behind the barracks. In those conditions, both could be true. " 4

The captured spotter will flaunt: "Welcome to hell!" There were rumors that the infantrymen took him on the roof of either a five-story building, or a nine-story building nearby, he had a walkie-talkie with him, but this is also unlikely, rather he was "rummaging around" near the plant, and apparently lost his scent from impunity. He was a Chechen with a large nose, unshaven, spoke with an accent, wore black trousers and a long black leather jacket with pockets. I now think that this was not a mercenary, but most likely someone from the local, such as a surveyor or a retired military man, a simple shepherd cannot learn how to use a compass so quickly. I will see him the next day. The spotter was kept in the basement of the house in which we lived at first. There, near the porch, the next morning I saw him and did not recognize him, his face was broken very badly, he cried and said: "Do not kill me, I am a soldier just like you!" A tall, thin general spoke gloomily to him.

It became psychologically difficult already on January 2: constant lack of sleep, knee-deep mud, shelling from mortars, a sniper. Even to smoke - it was necessary to hide.

On January 2, if I am not mistaken, the first reconnaissance group was ordered to move to the area of the Petropavlovskoye highway (but this is not accurate information). The fact is that the approach of troops was planned along the highway, and the militants set up ambushes there, and it was necessary to carry out counter-ambush measures.

Major Sergei Ivanovich Shavrin, FGC Special Operations Department:"The task of the corps commander (Commander of the 8th Guards AK Lieutenant General L.Ya. Rokhlin) I was entrusted with a difficult task: to ensure the safety of the column routes along which military equipment and troops were moving. This is Lermontovskaya street (Lermontov street adjacent to the Petropavlovskoe highway)... There are houses, the private sector on one side, and modern buildings on the other. Militants in groups of 5-6 people made their way into houses and fired at the convoys. And the street is completely packed with combat vehicles, refuellers, vehicles with ammunition. In general, every shot means a hit and a lot of damage, loss. From our joint team with the commandos, we formed four groups and cleared the bandits from the quarter. They set up ambushes, and when militants were found, they entered the battle. The bandits are afraid of open combat, they avoid it. Their tactics are the same: bite-run, bite-run ... Soon they realized that there were ambushes, there were special forces, it was not safe there. And the bandit raids stopped. Several blocks along the road were free. " 3

In one of the night exits, machine gunner Sergei Dmitruk was killed, from the first reconnaissance group, number 3 or 4, I don't remember exactly. The first loss in our company.

The aforementioned cleaning of the private sector, where exactly, I do not know, may be somewhere in the area of the Petropavlovskoe highway. The voice of the commander of the first reconnaissance group of our company Konoplyannikov: "Seki to the right, Mustafa!" Mustafa is a klikuha of the VSS sniper Radik Alkhamov from Bashkiria. Radik was very kind and very slow, but he transformed in the ring in hand-to-hand combat competitions. Small in stature, he was very sinewy, with relief muscles, like Bruce Lee, Radik was the champion in hand-to-hand combat in the battalion, huge guys were put up against him and he won everyone! When we jokingly asked: "Radik, why are you so slow?"

I remember that in the morning I went on some errand around the plant, and saw a car trying to break through the bridge across the Sunzha all the way - a white "six" with four men in it. I don't know if they were militants, but this maneuver was tragic for them: it turns out that our tank in a caponier was standing opposite the bridge behind a concrete fence and the first shot from the "six" tore off the hood with the engine, the driver and passenger in the front seat were killed, and two passengers jumped out of the back seat and rushed back across the bridge. Immediately from all the metal trusses of the plant, heavy fire was opened on the fleeing, and I saw how the bullets began to tear their clothes. I sat with my neck stretched out and looked over the fence, which wildly infuriated Glukhovsky: "Do you want a bullet in the head ?!" - he hit me on the helmet with the butt.

And the next moment a mine flew into the territory of the plant and a shrapnel cut one of our drivers "Ural", he fell as if knocked down. The guys immediately grabbed him and carried him to the doctors. Only upon arrival in Kubinka did we learn that he survived.

The 45th Separate Special Forces Brigade is the youngest military unit in the Russian Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces), its formation began in February 1994.

The regiment was formed on the basis of two separate special-purpose battalions, each of which, before being included in the regiment, had its own history of formation and development.

The 901st separate airborne assault battalion was formed on the territory of the Transcaucasian Military District and was immediately transferred to Czechoslovakia as part of the Central Group of Forces, where, from November 20, 1979, it was stationed in N. p. Riechki.

In March 1989, in connection with the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Eastern Europe, the battalion was redeployed to the city of Aluksne of the Latvian SSR and became part of the Baltic Military District. In May 1991, the battalion was transferred to the Transcaucasian Military District and redeployed to the city of Sukhumi of the Abkhaz ASSR.

In August 1992, the battalion was reassigned to the Airborne Forces Command and renamed the 901st separate paratrooper battalion. Later, as a separate battalion, it became part of the 7th Guards Airborne Division, but the city of Sukhumi remained the point of permanent deployment.

In 1993, during the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, the battalion carried out the tasks of protecting and defending important military and state facilities on the territory of Abkhazia from looting and destruction. During this period, eight servicemen of the battalion died, having fulfilled their military duty to the end, and about 20 were injured. For the performance of combat missions, 13 servicemen of the battalion were awarded the Order For Personal Courage, 21 people were awarded the Medal For Courage, and 1 man was awarded the Medal For Military Merit.

In October 1993, the battalion was redeployed from the city of Sukhumi to the Moscow region, where in February of the following year it was reorganized into the 901st separate special-purpose battalion. With the beginning of the formation of the 45th special operations division, the battalion was included in its composition.

The 218th separate special-purpose battalion was formed on July 25, 1992. By the order of the commander of the Airborne Forces, in the order of historical succession, the day of the creation of this battalion is considered to be the day of the formation of the 45th special operations division.

The battalion took part in the implementation of peacekeeping tasks in the zones of interethnic conflicts in Transnistria in June-July 1992, in North Ossetia in September-November 1992, in Abkhazia in December 1992. Many servicemen of the battalion were awarded for courage and heroism state awards.

The active use of battalions in solving special tasks in various conflicts showed the need to unite them into a regiment. By July 1994, 45 special operations forces were fully formed, manned with personnel, equipment, and began combat training.

On December 2, 1994, the regiment's personnel left for the North Caucasus to participate in the elimination of illegal armed formations on the territory of the Chechen Republic.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of July 21, 1995, the commander of a special-purpose reconnaissance group, Senior Lieutenant V.K. Ermakov, was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously) for courage and heroism displayed during the performance of a special command assignment to disarm illegal armed formations. On July 30, 1995, on the territory of the regiment, in a solemn atmosphere, a monument was unveiled in honor of the dead scouts.

On May 9, 1995, the regiment was awarded a diploma of the President of the Russian Federation for services to the Russian Federation. He took part in the military parade dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

From February to May 1997, the combined detachment of the regiment took part in a peacekeeping mission in the zone of separation of the Georgian and Abkhaz armed forces in the city of Gudauta.

On July 26, 1997, following the glorious traditions of the Armed Forces, the regiment was awarded the Battle Banner and Certificate of the 5th Guards Airborne Rifle Mukachevo Order of Kutuzov, 3rd Class Regiment, which was disbanded on June 27, 1945.

Since September 12, 1999, the combined reconnaissance detachment of the regiment took part in the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.
In August 2008, divisions of 45 special forces took part in the operation to force Georgia to peace. Regiment officer, Hero of Russia Anatoly Lebed was awarded the Order of St. George, IV degree.

On July 20, 2009, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December 18, 2006 No. 1422, the regiment was awarded the St. George Banner.

In April 2010, the battalion tactical group of the regiment carried out a combat mission to ensure the security of Russian citizens on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of February 9, 2011 No. 170, the regiment was the first in modern history to be awarded the Order of Kutuzov. The presentation of the award took place on April 4, 2011 at the regiment's location in Kubinka. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev personally attached the badge and ribbon of the order to the St. George regiment's banner.

In May-June 2012, the regiment's reconnaissance platoon participated in joint exercises with the US Green Berets at the US military base of the 10th Special Operations Group, located at Fort Carson.

The paratroopers of the regiment with honor continue the glorious combat traditions of scouts of all generations, proudly carry the high rank of the Guards, because it is not for nothing that their motto is: "The strongest wins."

During the existence of the regiment, five servicemen were awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for courage and heroism.
