"Those who are not used to losing ground under their feet are sick with seasickness."
Leonid S. Sukhorukov

Have you ever felt sick on the subway, on an airplane, in a car, or on rides? If so, then you do not need to explain what motion sickness (kinetosis) is. If not, there are two options: either you are one of those unique people (less than 5%), whose body is ideal and ready to fly into space, or you simply have not yet been in the sea. Let's talk about seasickness, its symptoms and treatment methods.

Motion sickness is a rather mysterious thing. For a long time, people have wondered why this happens, what provokes the body, how it can be hardened against seasickness? And why do the same people feel great, say, on an airplane, but on the Ferris wheel they feel nauseous? Why do many people adapt after several trips to the sea, while some still suffer all their lives? The latter, by the way, can be attributed to Admiral Nelson, who can in no way be called a land rat. Even in modern medicine, you can find different answers to these questions and different versions of what is happening.

Causes

Conflict begins in the body due to conflicting information coming from the inner ear and eyes. The vestibular apparatus is irritated, signals are sent to the brain that cause a strong release of histamine (the cause of nausea). Inertial forces cause malfunction in the central nervous and cardiovascular systems. Simply put, our body cannot understand where these mechanical, regular and long-term vibrations in space come from. The eyes indicate that you are standing on a solid surface, and the natural balancer desperately screams the opposite. You are looking forward to a great cruise and a sea of pleasure, but the body "sees" around itself only chaos, to which it is trying to adapt.
Another observation: women usually tolerate rolling worse than men, and at any age. This, of course, is not an axiom (tell Helen MacArthur about this :), but the statistics are stable.

Attention! Certain chronic illnesses on board can be exacerbated. Especially often: cholecystitis, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer, rectal inflammation. Go through a medical examination before leaving if you are not sure of your health. And visit the dentist at the same time, a bad tooth can poison any trip.

Symptoms

Mild (so-called latent) motion sickness manifests itself moderately: weakness, fatigue, dizziness and drowsiness, occasionally it can feel nauseous, but not much. Appetite disappears, food smells irritate. In general, women who suffered from a mild form of toxicosis during pregnancy will perfectly understand what this is about. These symptoms are experienced by many newcomers who are in the sea for the first time for a long time. And the psychological attitude, although it is important, will not help much here - this is pure physiology. The good news: on a charter, on a standard itinerary, you almost certainly won't get to know a real pitching, thank goodness. A yacht sailing in good weather and even winds in coastal waters will not give you the feeling of hardcore. The normal body of an average person adapts to new conditions on about the third day. Bad news: no one can predict in advance how badly you will be rocked, even in such greenhouse conditions. There are people who do not tolerate a long ride by car or by train, but at the same time feel great on a charter, in the fresh air. It also happens the other way around.

Pronounced motion sickness declares itself more severe: increased salivation, nausea and vomiting, dehydration, sharp, painful pallor, trembling in the fingers, all kinds of intestinal problems. And again, the good news: even severe attacks of this ailment can pass without a trace after initial adaptation. The group of people who are unable to overcome the disease even with the help of modern drugs is extremely small.

Prevention

The best prevention of motion sickness is a healthy, trained vestibular apparatus. But if you have not had a chance to work as a stuntman, acrobat, astronaut or ballerina, then this does not mean that nothing can be done.

Say NO:

1. Books, games on the phone, movies (the already stressful vestibular apparatus will be very irritated)
2. Contemplation of objects flickering overboard / outside the window (for example, waves, glare, if you are in a car - roadside posts). It's better not to look down at all, look up and into the distance.
3. Alcohol (after the first sip, it may seem to you that life has become much better, but you will soon see that it is not)
4. Smoking: even if you are a heavy smoker, be patient a little, do not increase the load on the body. Moreover, smoking on a yacht is only allowed on board from the leeward side. To grind at the stern, where it already sways more, barely moving away from the dock, while frantically trying to get into the ashtray - this is pure masochism
5. Fatty and heavy food on the eve and in the first days of the trip
6. All kinds of soda, coffee
7. Lack of sleep: try to get enough sleep the night before. You already have a flight, acclimatization in a foreign country, do not aggravate the situation. Fatigue contributes to more intense symptoms of motion sickness
8. Heavy use of perfumes and deodorants. Even your favorite scent, if strong, can make your first day aboard much worse.

Treatment

There are now many types of motion sickness pills and patches (mainly anticholinergics and antihistamines). You will find an abundance of information about them by simply googling “remedies for seasickness,” and it is inappropriate to give specific recommendations here. However, it is best to become familiar with the side effects and agree with your doctor rather than relying on chance. Such medicines are usually taken in advance, some time before going to sea.
But pills do not help everyone. Consider the classic, folk remedies for motion sickness on board.

1. Oddly enough, work at the steering wheel perfectly saves from the first signs of seasickness. Ask the skipper to let you stand at the helm. Focus your gaze on the fixed horizon line, focus not on your inner sensations, but on the boat itself. In general, try to look at motionless, stable objects and move your head as little as possible. It is better to choose an object for yourself outside the boat: a bird, a cloud, a steamer on the horizon.
2. Vitamin C. Suppresses histamine and improves overall well-being.
3. Ginger. Eat 1 gram of crushed ginger an hour before your trip. Take with you gingerbread cookies, caramels. Drink ginger tea. It fights nausea very well.
4. Massage a point on the inside of your wrist.

There are special acupuncture bracelets on the market with massage balls on the inside, they also help a lot. You can also click on the points located between the thumb and forefinger of both hands. It is best to do this with something thin, but not too sharp, such as the corner of a plastic card.

5. Lemon. Keep a lemon wedge in your mouth. For many, pickles (in small quantities) or cranberries also help.
6. Mint: pour 2 tablespoons of mint with half a liter of boiling water, drink without sugar.
7. Squeeze a match or a toothpick between your front teeth, grit your teeth and concentrate on keeping the match from falling out.
8. Breathe deeply and evenly.
9. Drink plenty of clean water.
10. If it gets really tight, go down to the cabin, lie down and close your eyes: this will soften the confusion of the sensors. Most importantly, do not forget to take a bag or some kind of container with you in case of deterioration. But in general, it is better not to sit in the cabin for too long: fresh air and spaciousness are better than a closed, stuffy space.

Controversial and untested methods:

Sealing the navel with adhesive plaster: a mysterious way to combat motion sickness, which is still found here and there, but what if it will help you?
- "draw" numbers from 1 to 10 in the air with your nose, then in reverse order, and so on several times. It distracts someone, shifts attention, while someone only gets worse from such manipulations.
- hold the magnet firmly in your hand and hold for a long time: there are tips to hold a coin or any small object in your hand
- Slight swinging or moving your legs (from heel to toe): it seems to the body that you are walking on the ground. But if you don't get into the pitching rhythm, this method can do a disservice.

Psychological attitude

Whatever happens, remember: no one has ever died of seasickness, this is not a clinical case. The more you worry and wind yourself up, the harder it will be for the body to adapt. That is why work on board helps many people: a person feels responsibility, the significance of his actions, he switches. If you are a fighter by nature, take seasickness as a challenge, as an obstacle to overcome and emerge victorious. Call on your sense of humor, self-irony to help: can you imagine how great it is to lose weight without any diet? And what a savings in food! Think about the pleasant, convince yourself that everything will soon pass, everything will be fine. The next time you go out to sea, you will surely feel better.

Enjoy your stay and have less motion sickness! :)

What is seasickness, what symptoms indicate it and how to cope with this ailment, says the yacht master, captain-instructor, founder of the Friendly Regatta, the Academy of Young Mariners and the Parus Club Captains Club Sergey Sinitsyn.

What is motion sickness

Motion sickness is considered a disease, but in reality it is just a condition, not a disease at all.

If you are faced with the fact that you are seasick in land or air transport (on a bus, car, airplane), then, most likely, you can face motion sickness - seasickness - and on the water.

Motion sickness is a kind of reaction of the brain to a state that is incomprehensible to the body. The brain gives him a reaction to an urgent cleansing or a signal to rest or sleep.

Symptoms of motion sickness

It's easy enough to understand that you or the people on the boat with you are developing symptoms suggestive of motion sickness.

The first sign of motion sickness is sleepiness and inappropriate behavior. If you see that a person has turned pale, calmed down, then most likely the symptoms are approaching. At first, it may be a depressed state similar to depression. It is followed by the second stage - dizziness appears, and at the third stage, as everyone knows, the person begins to feel sick.

The first stage can be prevented: a person needs to be distracted, for example, by assigning him some important task. Usually, people with manifesting symptoms at an early stage are put at the helm, and if it is a sailing boat, then for some kind of tackle, they are given ropes in their hands or asked to watch the horizon so that they do not focus on their symptoms and can get distracted from them.

If the second stage has already come, then it is still not too late to distract the person. Try also to give him a responsible task, if it does not help - send him to sleep.

In the third stage, only sleep will help. It happens that people begin to actively resist, however, you need to try to convince the person to go to rest for at least fifteen minutes. If he agrees to lie down and rest in this state, then most likely he will be able to fall asleep for a couple of hours. After sleep, the person will feel much better.

Coping with seasickness

Since motion sickness is a reaction of the brain to a state that is incomprehensible to the body, the brain can be trained.

#LIFEHACK

The workouts are very simple, and if you do them regularly, you will soon notice their effectiveness when you go out to sea. To get started, every morning you need to start with a neck warm-up - you need to do simple tilts left and right, back and forth and turns. “I have not yet seen a person who was able to do 15 bends and rotations every day to be seasick on a yacht,” Sergey sums up. Therefore, if you want to achieve a stable state, just increase the number of approaches every morning, and you will not be afraid of motion sickness.

If you have already planned your vacation and feel that you may be sick, then it is better to prepare in advance so that you do not worry about the consequences later. Unfortunately, on a yacht, there is no special means in a standard first-aid kit, because yachtsmen are not characterized by the state of motion sickness - they quickly get used to it and do not suffer from symptoms that an ordinary person who is not accustomed to new conditions is prone to. Elderly people and children, as a rule, are also not prone to nausea - they simply fall into a drowsy state and go to rest.

Medication

There are now many remedies for seasickness.

The most common cure for motion sickness is called Dramina. It is very effective, but in order for "Dramina" to help, you need to drink the remedy in advance - about thirty minutes before the pitching begins. Drinking it when you have already begun to feel sick is useless.

Homeopathic remedies based on ginger have now appeared in Europe, which are good for helping and at the same time do not cause drowsiness.

Food and nutrition

Foods can also help prevent motion sickness.

#LIFEHACK

Ginger, lemon, and cardamom work well. If you brew tea with lemon and drink it throughout the day, it will greatly invigorate the body and relieve possible nausea and dizziness.

Motion sickness is also influenced by human eating behavior - malnutrition and overeating. If you eat too much during a meal, then the body will feel weakened, because all the energy will be spent on digesting food. And if you starve yourself and do not eat in order to simply not get bad, then this will also lead to a weakening of the body. Therefore, you need to adhere to the usual diet without deviations from the norm.

It is also important to maintain the body's water balance. You need to drink an average of one and a half liters of clean water per day. Remember that this does not include juices and teas - they are considered drinks.

#IMPORTANT

Dehydration is one of the root causes that contributes to motion sickness.

“We usually have plastic water bottles on board that are signed with a marker for each person to control how much water they should consume during the day. This helps everyone to keep track of their water balance, ”says Sergey.

Alcohol

There is a version that alcohol helps with motion sickness, and this is true. But this assumption applies only to spirits, so you can drink a glass of spirits before going out to sea. But there is also a side effect - you have to become a real pirate - in order not to get seasick, the state of alcohol in the blood must be constantly maintained. This can be unsafe when sailing. There is a risk of falling overboard or not remembering your trip.

However, drinking alcohol is not prohibited. It is only important to remember that you need to moderate yourself in the evening so that there is no hangover in the morning, which, on the contrary, will increase seasickness. Dizziness may appear without it, but in the morning it will be aggravated by rolling.

Nautical etiquette

For many, the biggest fear of motion sickness is looking awkward in front of other people. When a person is sick, he usually rushes to the edge of the boat in order not to bother anyone.

A good captain does preparatory work with the crew. First, he explains that you can't make fun of someone who's feeling bad. Secondly, that it is important for a sick person to provide help - to hold him so that he does not fall overboard, and to give water. And in bad weather, it is generally better to put on a vest on a person and fasten it to the hull of the yacht.

Motion sickness is a fairly common and unpleasant reaction of the body to rolling. However, with the right approach, it can and should be dealt with. Remember all the recommendations and follow them, and then your trip will be bright, memorable and without complications.

Everyone has encountered motion sickness during travel. If the problem arises for tourists traveling on the waves, it is called "seasickness." Despite the romantic name, motion sickness while sailing on a yacht, boat or ship can deliver many unpleasant minutes. As a result, travelers have no desire to either look at the scenery or enjoy their vacation. All that remains is to fight dizziness and bouts of nausea.

"Seasickness": how and why

In medical terminology, motion sickness in transport is called "kinetosis". Moreover, motion sickness in the sea is of the same nature as dizziness during dances or on carousels.

One of the main reasons for the occurrence of "seasickness" is called insufficient training of the organ of balance or the vestibular apparatus. Although, doctors do not exclude an individual predisposition to motion sickness associated with heredity.

By its nature, motion sickness during boat trips is associated with the inconsistency of information perceived by a person. The fact is that the receptors of the inner ear in the process of moving on a boat or ship, as in any other transport, perceive the situation as motionless. The body does not move during the trip. While the eyes record movements in space. As a result of such a disproportion in the information perceived by the brain, dizziness and slight nausea occur.

Possible causes of motion sickness:

Low level of development of the vestibular apparatus
- fear
- elevated temperatures and stuffiness
- strong tobacco smell
- alcohol consumption
- emotional stress
- overwork
- pregnancy.

Symptoms of motion sickness and motion sickness

In most cases, the symptoms are absolutely identical. But due to the individual characteristics of the body, everyone can tolerate motion sickness in a slightly different way. The classic symptoms of "seasickness" are strong, growing dizziness, vomiting, nausea. The patient's skin and mucous membranes turn very pale. A person loses appetite, sleep disorders appear.

The reaction to motion sickness can vary. Some people become lethargic during this period, while others become very agitated. Immediately after the disappearance of the source of motion sickness, upon reaching land, the symptoms subside and then disappear.

Depending on the type of temperament, a tendency to motion sickness is also distinguished. Observations show that introverts suffer from motion sickness more and more often, while extroverts tolerate rolling much easier.

Preventing motion sickness: Before you travel

1. Persons prone to motion sickness before going to sea should better refrain from eating food, alcohol and strongly carbonated drinks. It is best to plan your last meal at least 2 hours before your trip.
2. On the road, it is worth distracting from the thoughts of motion sickness and having fun. Light conversation with a neighbor will be optimal. On a ship or boat, it is best to sit at the stern and look forward. It is known that sailors on watch never suffer from rolling. Since they constantly follow the route and look exclusively ahead. Therefore, at the first sign of motion sickness, it is necessary to go to the stern and look at the horizon line.
3. Persons suffering from "seasickness" are strictly forbidden to position themselves in the opposite direction of the movement. If the berth in the cabin is positioned this way, it will provoke an increase in symptoms.

Treatments for seasickness

1. Medicines... The active development of medicine leaves no chance for more traditional methods. Therefore, knowing about your propensity for motion sickness, it is better to take one of the suitable drugs an hour or half an hour before the boat trip.

One of the most popular are Dramin tablets, Croatian production. Bonin (USA), Aminalon and others have a similar effect.

2. Vitamins... To block nausea, taking large doses of vitamin C allows you to take from 3-4 grams to 5 grams at a time. The action of the vitamin is based on blocking the release of histamines, as a result, relief comes almost instantly.

If pill vitamins are not at hand, you can use sour fruits. Green apples are ideal. Lemons work as well.

3. Ginger powder... A well-known remedy for motion sickness is the root of this plant. Powder is recommended. One teaspoon is enough one hour before departure.

The beloved gingerbread cookies and caramels have a similar effect.

4. Lemon mint tea... An aromatic drink is also a proven remedy for motion sickness. The proportion is one teaspoon of tea per glass of water. After that, you must let the drink brew for at least 20 minutes.

They take tea with them to the sea and drink it in small portions. Lemon is a good addition to the drink.

5. Pickled cucumbers, green tea... Pickles have a similar calming effect on motion sickness. They are recommended to be chewed a little. Helps with motion sickness green tea brewing. You just need to chew it during an attack.

6. Diet... Travelers suffering from "seasickness" must watch their diet before walking on the waves. Better to consume water, vegetables and fruits. While heavy foods such as sweets, soda, starchy foods or chips are best avoided.

8. Honey and mint... This recipe is also suitable for children who have a hard time rolling. A teaspoon of honey is mixed with peppermint essential oil. It is important that the child does not swallow the honey, but chew it. After that, it needs to be drunk with cool water.

Experienced travelers use not only proven medicines, but also know a couple of simple tricks to avoid motion sickness.

1. Before going on a boat, the wrists are tied with an elastic bandage. As a result, the body reacts much more gently to pressure drops.

According to the theory of Chinese medicine, there is a point on the wrists that helps prevent nausea. And it is precisely on the influence on it that the technique known to sailors is based.

2. Maximum distraction. To do this, sailors clamp a match or a toothpick in their teeth and begin to chew it during attacks of motion sickness. A simple mechanical trick distracts from pitching, shifts attention and makes it easy to carry the ride.

3. Plaster. Many people with a poorly trained vestibular apparatus know about this technique. With the help of two plasters, the navel is sealed. This must be done in such a way that the middle of the adhesive plaster completely covers the navel. The method is simple, but very effective.

By following these simple recommendations, you can easily transfer not only an hour's walk around the coast, but also a long sea cruise. Medicines and techniques tested by sailors allow you to cope with troubles and remove all the symptoms of motion sickness.

You will find a list of them at the bottom of the page.

Motion sickness is accompanied by discomfort caused by repetitive movements of the inner ear, such as motion sickness on a sea voyage. Common symptoms of motion sickness include dizziness, nausea, increased sweating, stomach cramps, and vomiting. Anyone can get motion sickness, but some people are especially susceptible to it because of their physiology, health conditions, or certain medications. Motion sickness can be prevented or mitigated by both medications and some natural methods.

Steps

Part 1

Preventing seasickness with natural remedies

Pay special attention to what you eat and drink on the eve of your sea trip. Avoid eating foods that can worsen motion sickness and cause nausea before traveling, whether short or long. These include alcoholic and caffeinated beverages, as well as fatty and spicy foods. Heavy, fatty foods can worsen motion-induced nausea. However, you should not travel on an empty stomach. Try to drink plenty of clean water before driving and eat small portions of lean, protein-rich foods such as grilled chicken or turkey breast, lean fish, cottage cheese, and legumes.

    • Motion sickness is more common in young children, pregnant women, and those with migraines.
  1. Choose the least mobile location. When purchasing tickets for a cruise ship or other passenger ship, try to choose a cabin or seating area closer to the center of the ship, where the pitching will be minimal. Also try to choose a location as close to the water as possible - the higher the location is above the water level (for example, on the upper decks of a cruise ship), the more it rocks. Also, try to sit facing in the direction of travel for better orientation.

Don't read on board. Reading in a moving car or on board a ship increases the risk of seasickness. As you read, the eyes try to focus on the fixed letters, but the vestibular apparatus tells you that you are moving with the ship. Such conflicting information will disorient your brain and cause mild dizziness and nausea. If you are seasick, do not read books or magazines on board. Instead, look at the horizon line or some other fixed point until your inner ear and brain are in sync with each other.

    • If you are susceptible to seasickness, but at the same time enjoy sea travel, buy tickets for those cruises that provide frequent stops at ports and relatively little time allotted to sailing on the high seas.
    • Try reading before boarding to make yourself drowsy. Sleeping on board helps to alleviate the symptoms of motion sickness.
  2. Put special bracelets on your wrists. An interesting way is to combat repetitive motion nausea and dizziness with acupressure, including by targeting the "P6" point in the wrist. Acupressure is an ancient Chinese treatment that relieves symptoms and speeds healing by stimulating specific points on the body. The specific point P6 is located 2–3 centimeters above the wrist and can help suppress nausea. There are special bracelets that can be purchased at the pharmacy or online. According to some reports, such bracelets help fight various types of seasickness.

    • ReliefBands help reduce motion sickness by using a gentle electric current that stimulates the P6 point.
    • You can also try massaging the P6 spot with the thumb of your other hand at the first sign of nausea.
    • Clinical trials on the effectiveness of acupressure have yielded conflicting results, so it may work differently for different people.
  3. Try some ginger. Ginger is an old home remedy that can help relieve nausea. This spice is obtained from the rhizome of the ginger plant and has a characteristic pungent aroma. Ginger has long been used to treat various gastrointestinal disorders. Studies of motion sickness in naval school cadets have shown that consuming ginger before sailing markedly reduces symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.

    Part 2

    Taking medications
    1. Try over-the-counter antihistamines. Antihistamines are widely used to treat the symptoms of motion sickness. They affect the area of the brain that controls nausea and vomiting. The most popular seasickness remedies include dimensionhydrinate (Dramina), cyclizine (Cyclizine), diphenhydramine (Benadryl), promethazine (Phenergan), and meclizine (Antivert).

    2. Ask your doctor to prescribe anticholinergics for you. This is another type of medication that can help cope with seasickness. Anticholinergic drugs slow down the signals from the autonomic nervous system that are exchanged between the brain, inner ear, and eyes. The best known agent of this type is Scopolamine (Transderm-Scop). It comes in the form of a patch that should be applied to the skin behind the ear at least 8 hours before travel. Scopolamine helps prevent nausea, and its effects can last up to three days.

      • Scopolamine can cause the same side effects as antihistamines (drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, confusion).
      • Scopolamine can also cause hallucinations and lead to short-term memory loss, so it should be taken with great caution. The tablets have b O lighter side effect than a patch. Do not apply more than one strip of patch at a time.
      • Other drugs are sometimes prescribed to prevent motion sickness, such as dopamine receptor antagonists (promethazine and metoclopramide), amphetamines and benzodiazepines (Xanax and Valium).
    • Avoid those with motion sickness. Their sight and the sounds they make can provoke an attack of motion sickness in you.
    • Try not to enter the cabin. In the cabin, the pitching is stronger, and a poor view opens from there.
    • Try to distract yourself by listening to music or using aromatherapy (mint or lavender scents work well).

    Warnings

    • If symptoms worsen or persist after returning to shore, a doctor should be consulted as this may indicate a more serious illness.

I have already touched on the topic of seasickness earlier on this site. She is very close to me, because I myself still feel sick, and even in cars. Especially in the passenger seat.

However, earlier, in childhood and adolescence, everything was much worse. My vestibular apparatus has strengthened significantly only after I worked as a student for 4 years in an ambulance.

In the article below, there is a little bit about strengthening the vestibular apparatus. Now, I confirm that this is quite doable. Well, the rest of the advice is mostly working.

The scientific name of seasickness is kinetosis, which means "motion sickness". For the first time, mankind encountered this unpleasant phenomenon at the beginning of the era of sea travel. Hence the entrenched name, "seasickness". In the Middle Ages, sailors simply had to get used to these terrible sensations throughout their lives.

Now we have learned to fight the disease, but we began to experience its symptoms on any other transport. A car, a bus, a train, an airplane - that is, any means of transportation that creates monotonous vibrations.

There are quite a few people susceptible to this unpleasant ailment and they extremely negatively endure any transport movements. Even driving a car can cause nausea and dizziness. Trying to read a card or SMS on the go is tantamount to disaster.

And any winding road will turn into real torments of hell. But it's not all bad - there are several working ways to deal with this scourge once and for all. But first, let's see why this is happening.

Where does motion sickness come from?

All this happens because the vestibular apparatus, which reports on the position of the body in space, confuses our brain, which perceives visual signals, and they begin to work not synchronously, but each on its own. It is this contradiction that causes the sensation of motion sickness, including all the derivatives of the sad consequences for us.

Fortunately, it is quite possible to fight with him - at one time, such great people as Julius Caesar, Charles Darwin and even Admiral Nelson fought and defeated him with an illness. We do not know exactly what tools they used, but we offer what can help you.

Behavior

It is enough to make just a few fairly simple movements for the nauseous dizziness to decrease several times. First, press your head against the seat back so that it moves as little as possible. Second, focus on your own breathing - count the number of breaths and try not to think about anything else.

Music

Oddly enough, your favorite music also helps against seasickness. The fact is that the brain is too busy getting pleasure from listening - there are no resources left for unpleasant sensations. So, when you go sailing or traveling by car, do not forget to take your player with you.

Adaptation

Our body is able to adapt to any conditions. Even if it seems to you that motion sickness will haunt forever - do not be discouraged. This is not true. The more trips you make on the "unpleasant" mode of transport, the sooner the vestibular apparatus will return to normal and adapt to new conditions. There are only 5% of people in the world who cannot get used to endure rolling: your chances of becoming a sea wolf are very high.

Antihistamines

The group of antihistamines is actively used to treat seasickness. They suppress nausea and significantly increase the rate of adaptation of the body to new conditions.

Placebo

The so-called homeopathic remedies are very popular. They work only thanks to the placebo effect, since they do not contain any active substance. Are you going on a long voyage? Read a few rave reviews of similar drugs, take it and enjoy the magical ability of the brain to turn what you want into reality.

Acupuncture bracelet

These mysterious but effective devices appeared in China, the homeland of acupuncture medicine. They do help, but the result should not be expected immediately. It may take about forty minutes before the bracelet starts to work - well, all that remains is to grip your teeth tightly and try to look at one point.
