I don’t know, but at least I have not seen a photo of the SR-3M anywhere, and the SR-1M with a square button behind the handle, too.
Secondly, the cap says: please upload materials !!! I just wanted to collect information about this weapon in one pile.

Hooke 12-05-2007 21:32

Now a few questions:

Can someone post materials from magazines ARMS 2-2004 and 3-2004

fuss 12-05-2007 21:34

The forum had a fairly large topic on "Gyurza" (Vector), possibly. in the "Tactical weapons" branch, but on "Heather" there is quite a bit, it seems, since there is little information from the users of this device.

Hooke 12-05-2007 21:38

There is little information there, more and more conversations about nothing, but I would like more information and preferably about the MODERNIZED samples, for example, there is nothing at all about the SR-3M

Set A 13-05-2007 01:26

And about the cartridges for them - all the same, special weapons IMHO, it is interesting to consider the barrel-cartridge bundle - please! (twitching the tips of my ears)

bang-bang 13-05-2007 23:10

And what about the cartridges: 9x21 - a reinforced cartridge designed by Alexei Yuryev, I don't remember where, but I read that the muzzle energy of "Gyurza" is about 750 J, he himself did not shoot from an ento miracle, but I had to shoot from VSK-94 and "Vintorez" ... SP-5 - 9mm cartridge looks very similar to the 7.62x39 mod 43g. SP-6 is an armor-piercing version of it, I even have sleeves from SP-5 somewhere "for memory", if I find a picture I'll post it

bang-bang 14-05-2007 01:31

Thank you for the trick, by the way, the store near the vortex in the picture is for 20 rounds, and not for 30, as reported by the TTX (Personally, I have never seen 30 round magazines for such weapons (VAL, screw cutter, vortex), only 10 and 20 )

Hooke 14-05-2007 01:50

I took the information from the catalog of special weapons of the FSB, it says so, maybe they made a store for 30 rounds for the SR-3M (and the photo of the store itself may not have been found). And in general, if you notice, then the SR-3M is very different from the SR-3: the handle in front, like that of the SR-2M, was attached, the forend was changed, the butt was already folded to its side (like that of the AS Val) and a bunch of small ones. Now, if someone posted information about the modernization - what changed, why, why, etc.

Vic 14-05-2007 15:08

Now a few questions:
SR-1M and SPS - are they the same thing or not?
Can someone post materials from magazines ARMS 2-2004 and 3-2004

I am spreading an article from "Arms" 2-2004. There is no scanner yet, I did it by a digital technician.

Can you find the type and characteristics of the 9mm armor-piercing cartridge anywhere?

Hooke 14-05-2007 23:06

Vic tremendous respect for the magazine. I learned a lot about the SR-2 (M), the history of Russian submachine guns, and finally saw a photo of the SP-12.

Question: in the photo, if I'm not mistaken, can you see that the SR-2 magazine is attached to the front stop? (like the PP-2000, in which in earlier versions a spare magazine could be used as a shoulder rest)

And a request: Vic, take a look at the link, you can help (about the defective Weapon 10-2004).

Hooke 15-05-2007 12:20

There is practically no detailed information on SP-5 and SP-6.

Frolov developed a bullet of a different design for the SP-6 cartridge. Its hardened steel core, longer than that of SP-5, fills the entire cavity of the bimetallic shell. The latter does not completely cover the head of the core; its black apex protrudes from the shell. This bullet has a higher penetration and lethality. The SP-6 cartridge is an "assault" cartridge designed to defeat targets hiding in vehicles or protected by body armor.

Chuck length, mm - 56
Bullet length, mm - 41
Cartridge weight, g - 23
Bullet weight, g - 16
Initial speed, ms - 290
Sleeve - steel
The radius of a circle containing 50% of hits at a distance of 100 m is 3.5 cm

Gentlemen,
Something I don’t like it all, Americans and other foreign shushora are just like a disaster on our forum. We need to make separate forum threads where no one can steal our material. They translate and even laugh that we give them secrets we need to do something. That’s why I don’t post my military material on this forum.

The magazine does not attach to the stop, just when photographing it was placed under the PP in order to align the muzzle cuts along one plane.

Here I rummaged through the forum and found this special issue:

SR-2 "Veresk" - Russian-made submachine gun. It is used to engage targets at close range (up to 200 meters). Power structures are used to defeat opponents protected by personal protective equipment (body armor, etc.).

General information about PP SR-2 "Veresk"

Users appreciate the weapon for its high firepower, effectiveness and lethal action in close combat. Thanks to this, the gun was included in the list of interests of the power structures of the Russian Federation, after which it was put into service. Western experts did not bypass the model, as it met the criteria of the PDW class. This type of weapon is in high demand in the United States.

The first large batches of submachine guns had poor build quality and a crude design. This led to the occurrence of constant failures, due to which users responded unflatteringly about the CP-2. Despite this, domestic gunsmiths highly appreciated the prospects of the project, so they continued to work on it and improve it.

Nowadays, the production of SR-2 has been discontinued. The modernized versions of the SR-2M and SR-2MP are rolled off the assembly line, the development of which was based on the standard model. The main changes affected the following elements:

  • The rigid emphasis on the fore-end gave way to a folding handle. It made it possible to increase the accuracy and ease of use - when folded, the handle becomes part of the forearm;
  • The compensator was replaced with a muzzle-stop. Its main function is to eliminate the likelihood of the user's hand displacement forward and to protect against burns generated by the powder gases;
  • The design of the fuse box received a new basis.

A Picatinny rail appeared in the SR-2MP modification. It was placed on the forend and receiver. The device of the weapon allows you to use a silencer for covert destruction of opponents and a butt of a different shape.

The history of the creation of PP SR-2 "Veresk"

In the 1980s, the PWD rifle category emerged. The abbreviation was translated into Russian as “individual defense weapon”. Weapons of this class were used to arm the technical teams of rocket and anti-aircraft installations, military drivers, etc. The main task of such a weapon is the self-defense of military personnel, whose small arms are not the main one.

The Soviet Union was engaged in the design of various models for the self-defense of soldiers, but the PWD concept was not introduced. In those years, the Stechkin automatic pistol was used to arm the technical teams of rocket launchers. In the late 70s, it was replaced by the AKS-74U, but it was not included in the PWD category due to its large size.

The era of PWD in Russia began in the mid-90s. Then they developed new 9x21 mm ammunition. They possessed high power and penetrating power. High performance was achieved thanks to an increase in initial flight speed and a unique ammunition device. The developers planned to replace the outdated 9x18 mm cartridges with new charges, which powered the Makarov pistol. Engineers for the new ammunition created projects CP-1, the unofficial name of which is "Gyurza".

The new weapon became successful and was in high demand. This allowed the engineers to continue working, resulting in a new version - SR-2 Veresk. The development of a new project ended in 1999, now it is used in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSO, the FSB and some other law enforcement agencies.

Technical characteristics of PP SR-2 "Veresk"

The performance characteristics are as follows:

  • 9-gauge ammunition is used for firing;
  • Length with butt unfolded - 603 mm;
  • Length with folded stock - 367 mm;
  • The mass of the unloaded pistol is 1.65 kilograms;
  • Bullet speed after firing - 415-440 m / s;
  • The store holds 20 or 30 charges;
  • The rate of fire is up to 900 rounds per minute;
  • The maximum target hitting distance is 200 meters.

To create a new product, the specialists of the Central Research Institute considered several automation schemes. The choice fell on a scheme rare for this class of weapon - part of the powder gases were discharged through the barrel, turning the bolt helped to lock the barrel channel. The project was poorly funded, so the first prototype was assembled at the end of 1998.

The developers put the following task in the weapon - to neutralize opponents in second-class body armor at a distance of up to 200 meters, as well as defeat equipment not covered by armor at a distance of up to 100 meters. TsNII specialists have developed several types of cartridges 9x21 mm:

  • SP10 - the bullet was equipped with a steel core;
  • SP11 - the core was made of lead, which reduced the possibility of ricochet;
  • SP12 - the device increased the stopping effect;
  • SP13 - tracer bullet.

Practical tests have shown that 11 and 13 models of bullets have a striking force 1.5-2 times greater than that of cartridges used in a Makarov pistol. The use of CP-2 armor-piercing charges allows penetration of 4-mm steel sheets at a distance of up to 70 meters.

Automation works according to the gas outlet scheme. The gas piston stroke is long. The piston is located above the barrel, it is firmly connected to the bolt carrier. Inside the piston there is a cavity in which the front part of the return spring is located. The bolt has six lugs, they lock the barrel bore by the cutouts in the receiver.

After firing, the gas piston and the bolt carrier move to the rearmost position, the bolt rotates. As a result of this, the barrel channel is unlocked, the cartridge case of the spent cartridge is ejected. The bolt, starting to move to its original position, sends a new ammunition into the chamber, after which the barrel bore is locked. The rigid locking of the barrel channel was chosen due to the use of powerful cartridges. The cocking handle is firmly connected to the bolt carrier on its right side.

Airframe SR-2 Veresk

The PP Veresk device allows you to mount a collimator sight. It increases the user's tactical superiority over opponents using other weapons. Aiming speed with it increases 2-3 times, in contrast to a mechanical aiming mechanism.

The retention handle is located at the front of the forearm. The trigger mechanism is made according to the trigger type. It enables the shooter to fire singly or in bursts. A safety lever was placed on the receiver. It has two modes (fire and fuse). On the left side is the fire change lever. It has two modes: one point - single shots, three points - bursts of shots.

The stock is made of metal and can be folded. It is equipped with a spring-loaded recoil pad, thanks to which the time for transferring the weapon to the firing position is reduced to a minimum. You can shoot from support to the shoulder. The stores are box-shaped, there are two versions: for 20 and 30 charges. They are staggered. The magazine fits into the fire control pistol grip.

The standard sight is based on a front sight and a rotary rear sight, consisting of two sections (100 and 200 meters). The front sight is placed on a high stand, so it can be adjusted vertically and horizontally. The collimator sight mounting bracket is located on the upper part of the receiver.

The device provides for a compensator, at the top of which there is an inclined cut. The compensator reduces recoil to such an extent that it is possible to fire from the SR-2 with a “pistol” retention, while maintaining high accuracy and accuracy. At the top of the case, in front and in the back, there are swivels on which the belt is attached.

In case of incomplete disassembly, the SR-2 consists of the following parts:

  • Return mechanism;
  • Bolt carrier;
  • Fighting spring with a guide;
  • Drummer;
  • Gate;
  • Forend;
  • Barrel with automatic box, trigger, butt and other surface details;
  • Shop.

The submachine gun design requires regular cleaning after each use. This approach to maintenance increases the working resource and the overall service life of the implement. The PP comes with cleaning tools. It takes a little time to clean, it is recommended to do it within a few hours after shooting.

What conclusion can be drawn?

SR-2 Veresk is a successful Russian project, the weapon is used by the security forces not only in our country, but also in neighboring countries. The standard package includes the following items:

  • Suspension. Used for concealed carrying of the PP. It includes a bag for a spare clip, shoulder harness and holster;
  • Belt. Used for open carrying. Attaches to swivels, can be adjusted in length;
    Oiler;
  • Ramrod. The main element for operational cleaning of weapon elements;
  • Affiliation. Consists of various elements that are used for cleaning and disassembling a submachine gun;
  • A bag. Used to carry spare magazines, cleaning rod and accessories;
  • Case. Used for long distance transportation.

Unique design, interesting design solutions and high power ammunition are the distinguishing features of this product. He performs all the tasks assigned to the soldiers.

SR2MP submachine gun with a collimator sight and PBS

The SR-2 "Veresk" submachine gun was designed by the Klimovsk Federal State Pedagogical University "TSNIITOCHMASH" (Central Scientific Research Institute of Precision Engineering) on the instructions of the FSB of Russia in the mid-1990s. For the first time this submachine gun was shown in 1999 under the designation SR-2 (Special Development 2) and the name "Veresk". Later, an improved version of it was created, which received the designation SR-2M "Veresk" and is distinguished mainly by the presence of a folding front handle on the forearm for holding the weapon with two hands. The 9-mm CP-2M submachine gun is an automatic melee weapon and is designed to defeat manpower, including those using personal protective equipment, at ranges up to 200 m.Powerful domestic pistol cartridges 9x21 - SP-10 and SP-11.

Together with the SR.1 pistol, the SP-10 and SP-11 cartridges and the KP SR-2 single collimator sight, the Veresk submachine gun is part of a high-performance rifle complex capable of hitting the enemy in individual second-class body armor at a distance of up to 200 m and unarmored vehicles at a distance of up to 100 m. SR-2M "Veresk" provides 100% penetration of a 4-mm steel sheet at a distance of 70 m. The "Veresk" submachine gun is designed to use various cartridges of the 9x21 mm series: SP10 - with steel a core of increased armor penetration; SP11 - with a bullet with a lead core; SP12 - with an expansive bullet providing increased stopping effect; SP13 - with a tracer bullet. The stopping effect of the bullets of the SP-11 and SP-13 cartridges is 1.5-2 times higher than that of the 9 × 18 PM.

The CP-2M "Veresk" submachine gun operates on the basis of gas-operated automation with a long stroke of the gas piston. The gas piston located above the barrel is rigidly connected to the bolt carrier. The piston is made hollow and a return spring is placed inside it with its front part. The barrel is locked by the cutouts in the receiver by turning the bolt with six lugs. When fired, the gas piston with the bolt carrier moves backward, turning the bolt. Next, the barrel is unlocked and the spent cartridge case is ejected, then the bolt sends the next cartridge into the chamber and locks the barrel bore. An automatic device with a rigid locking of the barrel bore in submachine guns is extremely rare and is due to the use of a powerful cartridge in the weapon. The cocking handle is rigidly fixed on the right side of the bolt carrier.

The SR-2M submachine guns are equipped with front holding handles attached to the front of the forearm. The trigger-type trigger mechanism allows firing both single shots and bursts. The fuse lever is located on the right side of the receiver and has two positions marked with the letters "O" - fire and "P" - fuse. The lever of the translator of types of fire is located on the left side of the weapon. It also has two positions, marked with one and three dots - single shots and automatic fire, respectively. The weapon is equipped with a metal folding stock, folding up in the stowed position.

The buttstock has a spring-loaded butt pad, which allows you to quickly transfer the weapon from the stowed position to the position for firing with an emphasis on the shoulder, and the method of placing it in the folded state reduces the transverse dimensions. The cartridges are fed from detachable box magazines with a staggered arrangement of 20 or 30 cartridges and their output in two rows. Magazines are inserted into the fire control pistol grip. The magazine latch is double-sided. Standard sights are mechanical, open, but collimator sights can be attached to the receiver cover. The collimator sight can significantly increase the effectiveness of firing from a submachine gun when firing at moving targets and in low light conditions.

The small dimensions and weight of this submachine gun, in combination with the original suspension for carrying it under clothing, ensure its hidden carrying and quick transfer to a combat position. At the same time, the SR-2M "Veresk" ensures reliable defeat of the enemy, protected by body armor, at ranges of up to 100 meters when using SP-10 cartridges with armor-piercing bullets. The CP-2M submachine gun works reliably in various operating conditions in the temperature range from -50 ºC to +50 ºC. The SR-2 and SR-2M "Veresk" submachine guns are currently in service with the FSB and the FSO of the Russian Federation. In addition, Veresk submachine guns are also used in other law enforcement agencies of Russia, in special-purpose units.

The newest version of the CP-2 submachine gun, designed by the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering, is the SR2MP submachine gun equipped with Picatinny slots. The SR2MP submachine gun allows you to perform a wider range of combat missions due to the ability to install a variety of types of sights and other equipment on it. With the help of the Picatinny slots located in the upper part of the receiver cover and on the sides of the forearm, collimator, night and optical sights, laser designators and tactical flashlights can be attached to the weapon.

Personal opinion of a senior sergeant in the reserve of military intelligence, a lieutenant colonel of a special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who has extensive combat experience in “hot spots”, about the SR-2M submachine gun: “A powerful submachine gun, accurate, with a large ammunition load. The samples purchased for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation do not have a standard collimator sight - one of the main attributes of this weapon. Instead of a standard cover, there is a cover for the AKS-74U assault rifle and a bag for AK-74 magazines. Apparently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not have enough money or the officials in charge did not consider it necessary to purchase weapons in the standard configuration. At the first communication, the ill-conceived arrangement of the controls is surprising. The fuse is located on the right side, although if you place it on the left side, under the thumb, then it would be possible to quickly bring the weapon into combat readiness, and just as quickly put it into a safe state. And all this - with one hand. The fire mode translator, on the other hand, is used most often once, and quick access to it is not necessary. For quick reloading, it would be necessary to move the bolt handle to the other side or make it double-sided. When the "Heathers" entered the unit, everyone who took their hands paid attention to the too long shoulder rest. When shooting in a bulletproof vest, this is very noticeable, especially when holding on to the front handle. By the way about the handle. The thing, of course, is necessary. When using the grip lock, sooner or later it pinches the skin on the index finger. The grip itself is located close to the muzzle, which heats up a lot during intense shooting and does not add comfort to the hand. It would be nice to install a plastic overlay at the bottom of the muzzle. A muzzle with compensation holes would not hurt. When holding the weapon by the front grip, the sharp edges of the lower part of the forearm cut into the hand. Tolerable, but unpleasant. " KardeN

Standard sights are mechanical, open, but collimator sights can be attached to the receiver cover.

The small dimensions and weight of this submachine gun, in combination with the original suspension for carrying it under clothing, ensure its hidden carrying and quick transfer to a combat position. At the same time, the SR-2 "Veresk" provides reliable defeat of the enemy, protected by body armor, at ranges of up to 100 meters when using SP-10 cartridges with armor-piercing bullets. CP-2 reliably operates in various operating conditions in the temperature range from -50 ºC to +50 ºC.

The SR-2 "Veresk" submachine guns are currently in service with the FSB and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. In addition, Veresk submachine guns are also used in other law enforcement agencies of Russia, in special-purpose units.

With the creation in TSNIITOCHMASH of the complex “cartridge SP.Yu-pistol SR. 1 ", the idea arose to add to it a submachine gun chambered for 9x21, which provides guaranteed defeat of a single live target in personal body armor at a distance of up to 200 m, allow targeted shooting from one and two hands, using a stock, and carry it in a pistol-like manner. The main customer was FSK (FSB). The development of the SR.2 "Veresk" submachine gun was completed by mid-1998.

In 2000, the SR.2 9mm submachine gun was put into service.

The weapon is distinguished by automatic equipment with a gas engine and locking the barrel by turning the bolt when assembled with a magazine located in the pistol grip. The foldable loading handle is located on the right.

The firing mechanism is of the shock type. The fuse box is located on the right side, in the “fuse” position, the box overlaps the slot for the loading handle. A separate flag translator is located on the left side and sets the modes of single and continuous (automatic) fire. Flags are available for the thumb holding the weapon.

Food - from a box magazine with a staggered arrangement of cartridges. When the cartridges are used up, the magazine feeder rests against the bolt, which contributes to the ejection of the magazine when you press its latch. The latch of the store is double-sided.

Pistol grip and fore-end made of impact-resistant plastic. The stock is metal, folding up and down. A compensator is attached to the barrel.

The KP-SR collimator sight is attached to the cover of the automation box by means of a bracket. 2. The mass of the collimator sight is 0.3 kg, the field of view is 6 °.

In the modernized version of the SR.2M submachine gun, instead of a hard stop, a folding front handle appeared on the forearm, which increases the convenience and accuracy of shooting (initially the handle was made of aluminum alloy, then - of plastic). In the folded position, the handle becomes part of the forend. The fuse box has been slightly changed. In addition, the muzzle device has been changed - instead of the muzzle brake-compensator, a muzzle-stop is installed, which protects the shooter's hand from burns with powder gases.

The SR.2 submachine gun is worn openly on a belt or discreetly on a special suspension.
