A huge snow cloud floated high in the sky. She was heavy, shaggy and tired. The cloud was tired of carrying millions of sparks of snowflakes, in order to have time to cover the earth with fluffy white snow with the onset of winter. Little snowflakes-sparks were such fidgets, they all strove to jump off the clouds and fly away with the north wind into the endless expanses. But it was necessary to cover the ground everywhere with snow, so the cloud flew to where there was no snow.

Finally, the cloud noticed forests, fields, houses below, not covered with snow. She puffed, swayed, shook herself off, and millions of beautiful snowflakes-sparks flew to the ground in snowy round dances. Sometimes the snowflakes held hands, turning into snowflakes. Snowflakes-sparks fell on the ground, on trees, on houses, turning everything around into a white snow fairy tale. One sparkling snowflake fell right on the mustache of a ginger cat, who was sitting on the fence and watched the snowflakes slowly spinning, falling, falling.

The cat squinted funny at the sparkling snowflake and asked:

- Who are you?

- I'm Snowflake-Sparkle. What, you never saw us?

- Not. I saw snow for the first time. Why are you falling to the ground?

- How funny you are, - Snowflake-Sparkle laughed. In winter, the earth is cold without snow. Look, we, like a white warm blanket, cover the ground, trees, bushes, so that everything does not freeze around when hard frosts and blue prickly blizzards come. Don't be afraid. You're not scared, look what a warm red coat you have. And don't be afraid of winter. Winter is cold, but beautiful and cheerful. So that people would not be bored, she came up with a winter holiday for them. People put up green, fluffy Christmas trees at home. They dress them up with iridescent toys and bright colors.
lights. And then they have fun around her and give each other beautiful gifts. The cloud told us about it. It's a pity that I didn't see this miracle.

Snowflake-Sparkle became sad.

- Hey, are you upset? If you want, I'll show you such a Christmas tree. We already have a tree in our house. She sparkles and shimmers with lights. A huge blue ball hangs on the lowest branch and sways from side to side. Do you want me to put you on it, and you will admire the Christmas tree as much as you like?

The ginger cat, trying not to drop the fragile Snowflake-Sparkle from his whiskers, quietly went home. When he entered the room in which there was an elegant Christmas tree, Snowflake-Sparkle gasped.

- What's the beautiful! I have never seen anything more beautiful in the world!

The ginger cat carefully placed the snowflake on the blue ball, which made the ball even more beautiful. He lay down next to him and began to watch with pleasure how the snowflake had fun and rejoiced. The ball spun so that the ginger cat was dizzy. And when the ball stopped, there was no longer a snowflake on it. Only a small crystal droplet of water trembled on the side of the ball.

- Snowflake-Sparkle, where are you?

And the answer is silence. The ginger cat searched for the Snowflake-Sparkle for a long time, jumping around the Christmas tree. He stood up on his hind legs, stretched his neck funny, thinking that Snowflake-Sparkle had jumped from his favorite blue ball to other toys, higher up on the Christmas tree.

- Ryzhik, what are you looking for? - asked the little girl, seeing how her little friend rushes around the Christmas tree.

- I'm looking for a Snowflake-Sparkle, which I brought from the street and planted on my favorite blue ball. She said she had never seen a Christmas tree. And now she was gone, only a drop of water remained on the ball.

- You are stupid. Is it possible to bring a cold, fragile snowflake into the warmth of home? Snowflakes live outside where it's cold. And they melt in the heat. Your girlfriend has turned into this little droplet. Don't be sad, Ryzhik, now I'll help you a little.

The girl brought white paint and painted a beautiful snowflake on the side of the blue ball. In the meantime, the paint did not have time to dry, sprinkled it with sparkles. And the snowflake sparkled, sparkled in the light of cheerful lights. And a small droplet dissolved in the warm air of the room and floated away through the open window. The winter wind picked her up and put her on a tree branch at the very window, behind which there was an elegant Christmas tree, turning it into a carved sparkling frost.

Children about snowflakes: why snowflakes are different, fairy tales, games, tasks

Explore the world around us: snowflakes

Where does snow come from?

Probably every child at least once asked adults the question: “Where does the snow come from? What does Santa Claus bring him? It's time to explain to the baby where the snow comes from and why it rains in summer and snow in winter. Or maybe you think that snow and rain come from the same clouds? This is not true! Let's find out how this actually happens. For the little ones, I have prepared an interesting cartoon with the answer to this question. And for older children, in addition to the cartoon, I suggest reading the story of N. A. Guryeva "Snow" from the book "Acquaintance with the nature of Russia." (I strongly advise parents and educators to purchase this wonderful book about nature for children)

“In a snowfall, in calm calm weather, snowflakes fall from the clouds to the ground, like small parachutes. It used to be thought that snow is frozen droplets of water and it comes from the same clouds as rain. But then scientists proved that snow is never born from water droplets. Water vapor is always in the air. In spring, summer and autumn, steam turns into raindrops, and in winter - into snowflakes. It turns out that water vapor rises very high above the ground, where it is very cold, and tiny crystals form from them. The crystal grows because other tiny crystals join it. Having grown heavy, this crystal begins to sink to the ground. Falling, it continues to grow and turns into a beautiful star - a snowflake. Substituting a mitten, you can catch a snowflake and admire its pattern. It seems that each snowflake is not like the others, but scientists have been able to identify several basic shapes of snowflakes. They were even given names:

  • star,
  • plate,
  • column,
  • needle,
  • fluff,
  • stud.

The shape of snowflakes depends on the weather.

  • On a windless frosty day, snowflakes fall slowly. They are large, shiny, like stars. Snowflakes fall one at a time, so they are easy to see.
  • In mild frost, snowflakes look like snow balls - "snow grain". And with a strong wind "snow dust", as the wind breaks off the rays and edges of the snowflakes.
  • When there is no frost, falling to the ground, snowflakes stick to each other and form "snow flakes". They are large and resemble pieces of cotton wool.

After reading the story, ask the child:

  1. What are snowflakes made of?
  2. What are they?
  3. What is "snow groats", "snow dust", "snow flakes"?

Every time you leave the house for a walk, to the store, to kindergarten or school, pay attention to the weather and snowflakes. What is the snow like today? Why is he like this? Remember with your child when he saw snow flakes and sculpted snowmen out of them. And when was the prickly snow? And why was it so unpleasant from him? What happened to these snowflakes - why did they suddenly become prickly? (The wind broke off their rays).

Do you want to become wizards and see all the transformations of snowflakes on your computer screen? Then read on 🙂

Why are all snowflakes different?

Invite the child to catch two identical snowflakes in a mitten. Catch snowflakes and examine them on a mitten. You can show your child how to use a magnifying glass to look at snowflakes. Failed to catch exactly the same snowflakes? Do you want to know why? I invite you and your child to a fun lesson in a forest school. Together with fairy tale characters, the child learns:

  • where do snowflakes come from?
  • what are they?
  • Why are all snowflakes different in shape?
  • what is the path of a snowflake on the way from heaven to earth?
  • How does invisible air help snowflakes?

In this entertaining video for children about snowflakes, the child will see with his own eyes how snowflakes are made and how far they go.

Snowflakes are made from ice floes, just like children's buildings are made from building blocks. In order for the child to understand how small these ice floes are in size, do a small task. Show your child a ruler and a division of 1 mm. Examine this 1 mm division under a magnifying glass. Count on the computer screen how many such ice floes fit in this small millimeter division of the ruler !!! Look how tiny these ice cubes are! Remember with your child how he built houses, cars, airplanes from the details of the designer. He took small details - and the building turned out to be large. Nature also knows how to build. But she does not build houses, but snowflakes from an unusual ice constructor - from tiny ice floes!

Speech exercises.

Exercise 1. I will start, and you finish, answer in unison

  • The snowflake is small, but the ice is still ... (smaller).
  • The tree is big, but the house is still ... (more).
  • The cloud is white, and the snowflake is still ... (whiter).
  • The blanket is fluffy, but the snowflake is still ... (fluffier).
  • The feather is light, but the snowflake is still ... (lighter).

If the kid is wrong, correct him. Do not repeat the child's incorrect answer! In your speech, the child needs to hear only the right words! And then offer to pick up more words with this word. For example: the child said "easier" instead of the word "easier". Then we come up with more questions: “The book is easy, but the piece of paper is still ... (easier). Jumping is easy, but running is even ... (easier). Now come up with a task for me.” And the kid composes a similar sentence - a riddle for you, and at the same time exercises in the grammar of the Russian language, comprehends its laws!

Exercise 2. Let's help winter (selection of adjectives and verbs for the word "snowflakes")

To carry out the exercise, you will need to cut out small circles about 2-3 cm in size from white paper and draw one snowflake on each of them. You will also need a background. Against the background, we will lay out a large snowdrift from our circles - snowflakes. The background can be an ordinary sheet of colored cardboard or a picture. Children are invited to help winter and make a big snowdrift out of snowflakes. But our snowflakes are magical. They can only fly if you say the "magic word" to them. Therefore, the rule will be this - say the word and take the snowflake, and now put it on the picture to build a snowdrift. As soon as we pick up a lot of words, we will get a snowdrift! The forest dwellers will rejoice at him!

Tasks for the game:

Exercise 1. What is snow/snowflakes? Take turns picking words with your child. They said the word - put a snowflake. Now it's the child's turn. He says the word and puts down his snowflake. So together we build a big snowdrift. An adult in the game says complex, little used words, a child - more common and easy. Remember with your baby the words from famous poems about winter - what words do they describe snowflakes in? You will find some verses at the end of the article.

Approximate vocabulary for the game:

What are snowflakes? White, small, tiny, light, cold, lace, carved, clean, wet, fluffy, beautiful, shiny, sparkling, radiant, dazzling, silvery, needle-like, large, small, icy, delicate, fragile.

What snow? Light, sticky, white, sparkling, silvery, fluffy, soft, cold, wet, clean, loose, dense, heavy.

Task 2. What are snowflakes doing? (option - what does snow do?)

Approximate vocabulary for the game:

Snowflakes fall, fly, spin, fall like a snow carpet on the ground, sparkle, shine, melt, waltz, flutter.

Snow flies, spins, creaks, glitters in the sun, shines, falls, falls, goes, pours, lies, blinds the eyes.

In this game, the child sees a clear result of his efforts, his speech actions, which is very, very important for him! Otherwise, he will quickly lose interest in the selection of words! But helping Santa Claus or winter, the kid tries to find as many suitable words as possible!

Task 3. Snowing. What else is coming? (Time is running, the bus is running, the train is running, etc.) / Who is coming? (The passer-by is walking, the mother is walking, the boy is walking, etc.). In this task, the kid will get acquainted with the phenomenon of polysemy of words (we don’t tell him the term, he just selects the words in the task, listens to them, learns their meaning).

Exercise 3. Think of a word

  • It's snowing. This… ? (Snowfall).
  • Walks on snow. What… ? (Snowmobile)
  • Rolling in the snow. What… ? (Snow scooter)
  • Snow is cleared by a machine. Which…? (Snowplow).
  • White as snow. Which…? (Snow-white).

In this task, the kid learns to form new words from known ones. This is a very important skill. Even if the child makes a mistake and comes up with his own “funny” words, this is wonderful. Word creation and experimentation with words develops the speech abilities of babies. But be sure to support the baby after the children's version and tell the child the correct option: “The word you came up with could be in Russian. But people agreed to call it something else. We call it - ... (correct option) ".

Poems about snowflakes for children

I'll start with my most beloved, touching, gentle and bewitching poem about a snowflake. A fragment from this poem can be memorized with a child of senior preschool age and recall it on a walk, when looking at winter landscapes and photographs.

Snowflake. Konstantin Balmont

Light fluffy
snowflake white,
What a pure
How brave!

Dear stormy
Easy to carry
Not in the sky azure -
Asking for the ground.

Under the blowing wind
Trembling, uplifting,
On him, cherishing,
Light swings.

his swing
She is comforted
With his blizzards
Spinning wildly.

In the rays of shining
Skilfully skilful
Among the melting flakes
Preserved white.

But here it ends
The road is long
Earth touches
Crystal star.

lies fluffy
Snowflake is bold.
What a pure
What a white!

The poem is a logical task "Snowflakes". M. Rodina

A very interesting poem - a logical task for children. After reading the poem, invite the child to guess who took the snowflakes. And then read the following poem - a riddle.

At my sister, at Marina,
On the palm - two snowflakes,
I wanted to show everyone
Look - no snowflakes to be seen!
Who took the snowflakes
My Marina?

Snowflake. G. Abelyan

- Get down, snowflake,
On my palm:
You've been spinning for a long time
Get some rest.
- Look, how clever!
You think I don't know!
On the palm of your hand warm
I will melt right away!

I wish you all pleasant and interesting last days of winter! I hope that our meeting was interesting and useful for you and your children!

A small snowflake lived on a large white cloud. She loved to look down when a cloud floated across the sky over a shaggy forest, a brilliant river, a wide field, a round lake. But below, small houses appeared, and then larger houses, and among them something bright, sparkling, multi-colored, which could not be seen from above.

Snowflake became very curious, wanted to go down and look at this beauty. And the snowflake jumped and flew down. Going down, she watched how many people were on the streets and saw how some of them hang long ribbons with light bulbs on the trees and they begin to glow incredibly beautifully. Snowflake saw people smiling at the lights. She also really wanted to do something good, pleasant, to please them with something, and the snowflake decided to dance her most beautiful dance for people.

The first person to see a dancing snowflake was an old janitor with a shaggy broom. “Well, it’s snowing,” he grumbled angrily. He began to scatter snowflakes to the sides, which danced near the ground and raised a whole whirlwind around him. Snowflake was even taken aback by surprise. It turns out that she and her friends were not at all welcome here, and no one paid attention to their dance. At this time, someone else ran past, brushing off the flying snowflakes and wrapping himself in a collar. A door opened in a house nearby and a grandmother appeared on the threshold. "It's cold today, it's snowing. Put on gloves,” she said. And the snowflake was completely sad. She decided: "We are not needed here at all, the snowfall only gives people trouble." The snowflake began to sadly fall down. “If I were a drop of rain, I could at least bring joy to the plants, because they need to be watered. And now I bring only cold, ”the snowflake thought disappointedly.

And suddenly she felt that she was lying on something soft. She saw that she was lying on the fluffy mitten of the baby, who offered her his palm and looked at her with delight. “Grandma, grandma, look how beautiful!” he suddenly shouted, “Hurrah! Everything is so white!” Snowflake looked at her grandmother and was surprised to see that she was smiling. “Yes,” she replied, “the snow will cover the trees like a soft blanket until spring, so that they can sleep warmer.” "Grandma, let's make a snowman! And in the evening we will take a sledge to the street!” The baby jumped and clapped his hands.

And the snowflake, jumping off the mitten, started dancing again! She felt so good and cheerful that she lit up with joy! Or maybe it was the sun that came out and illuminated the falling snow - but suddenly everything around sparkled, sparkled and began to sparkle. And the snowflake saw so many smiles around: children were having fun and laughing, their mothers and grandmothers were smiling, even serious fathers and grandfathers had smiles on their faces and an old janitor with a shaggy broom was laughing.

And the snowflake has never danced so beautifully as today! How important it is to know that you are welcome and that someone really needs you!

Fairy tales about snowflakes.

"Magical Winter Wonder".

Snowflakes are dancing:

Flying and spinning

Silvery in the sun on a frosty day.

Openwork dresses, carved scarves.

Magical winter miracle - snowflakes.

Santa Claus was walking through the woods on an early winter morning. He was very boring: no one to talk to tell tales. All forest dwellers were preparing for the New Year. Grandfather Frost waved his staff and the girls sparkled with silver - snowflakes. The forest wizard gasped from such amazing beauty.

But there was one tiny and indecisive Snowflake. She was afraid of the wind, the sun; I was afraid that the forest dwellers would not like it. Our timid princess hid in a far corner. But Santa Claus saw her, came up and said: - Look what you are beautiful: a fluffy dress with needles, the finest lace! Don't you want to be part of a real miracle?

Here came a little Snowflake from her hiding place and began to slowly circle in the air with her sisters. All the forest dwellers came out of their houses and rejoiced at such beauty. And the little rabbit shouted: - Look, what a miracle! This is a real miracle! Our little timid heroine smiled and shone even more, sparkled in the sun.

"New friends Snowflakes

One day friends: a calf, a foal and a turtle went outside and began to play catch-up. And lay on the side snowflake and sadness: “I wish I had such funny friends!” Luckily for her, the turtle noticed snowflake and told her friends: - Look how sad Snowflake...Let's play with her! Snowflake are you going to run with us?

Sure, with pleasure!

So friends played until the evening.

I must go home! - said the calf.

And it's time for us! - said foal and turtle. I got sad again Snowflake: - And I have nowhere to go. I don't have a house. And she cried.

Let's go to me! - said the turtle.

I can not. I'm afraid of heat. I'll die from the heat.

I figured it out! Let's build a house for snowflakes! – said the calf.

Let's! friends supported. And work began to boil. The house is bright and spacious. Snowflake loved it. She thanked her friends. And in the morning everyone was frolicking and having fun again.

"How the Bear and the Hedgehog were looking for snow."

Winter has come. Bear and Hedgehog got ready to sleep. And there is still no snow. And there is nothing to hide. So friends decided to go and find a cloud of snow.

They walked for a long time. They met an asterisk on the way. They asked her:

Asterisk, you don't know where the cloud lives snowflakes?

Why do you need her?

We need to sleep, and we have nothing to make houses from, there is no snow. Apparently a cloud fell asleep and forgot about us.

Yes, it's the right thing to do. After all, not only you need snow, but also a bunny with squirrel: It is easier for them to hide from enemies. Grass, bushes and trees - to hide from the cold and cold. Let's go soon. I will show you the way.

They came to the cloud. And that's right - the cloud is sleeping soundly. Everyone screamed chorus:

Wake up, Cloud!

The cloud does not hear. But one little one woke up Snowflake and started waking up her friends. Girlfriends - snowflakes rang with their rays and woke up the cloud. The cloud woke up from sleep, shook itself and flew snowflakes on the ground: one, two, hundreds and thousands.

Friends hurried home. They did a good deed.

« Snowflake - star» .

Lived - was alone Snowflake. She was born into a large and friendly family. Her mother - clouds had a lot of such daughters - snowflakes. Probably as many as a thousand, maybe two. So they lived - lived, did not grieve. Snowflakes my mother was also growing up - it became difficult for the cloud to wear their beauties. She sighed, sneezed and flew snowflakes down, to the ground. Our little Snowflake danced across the winter sky with her sisters. She had never been so free and happy. She sparkled and shimmered from the feelings that overwhelmed her. And suddenly snowflake understood that looks like a star in the sky. "I'm a shooting star, so you can make a wish"- thought Snowflake.

The snowflake that illustrates this post is the work of artist Laura Jean Allen ( Laura Jean Allen), and she appeared on the cover of a magazine The New Yorker January 7, 1967

There were snowflakes. They were born in a snowy kingdom in a snowy cloud high above the earth.
They all looked alike, like sisters, but each had their own outfit. One was just like an asterisk with six rays. The other looked like a flower with six petals. And the third sparkled like a six-sided gem.
Snowflakes grew and flew to the ground in a white flock.
The earth was already very close, but the wind did not allow the snowflakes to calmly descend. He circled them in the air, threw them up, made them dance to his wild music.
And yet, one after another, the snowflakes reached the ground.
Some snowflakes lay down on a compressed field, others found a lodging for the night in the forest - on branches and under trees. Some were placed on the roofs of houses. And there were those who inadvertently lay down in the middle of a country road or on the pavement in the city.
When morning came, passers-by walked along the road, the wheels of carts and cars rolled.
People were glad to hear how the snow creaked under their feet, how the runners screeched through the snow. And no one guessed that it was with a crash, with a crunch, petals, rays, branches of snow flowers and stars break off.
It was calmer for those snowflakes that went to bed not on the street, not on the road, but in the field. No one bothered them there for a long time.
So these sleeping beauties would have lain all winter in one place, if the tramp-wind had not come across them. The wind began to walk across the field, began to lift, shake the snowflakes. There was no time for sleep.
The snowflakes had to take off, set off along with the wind on their way.
For a long time they rushed across the field. Yes, fortunately for them, they came across a ravine.
They hid in a ravine from the wind.
But every minute more and more crowds of fugitives arrived there. They pushed and pushed each other. Their petals and rays broke in the crush.
No one could tell one snow star from another in the hard, dense pile of rubble.
The best thing was those snowflakes that found a haven in the forest.
There, the trees did not let the wind in, did not let it roam. There, no one disturbed the peace of the snowflakes. It is quiet in the forest, unless a forest animal runs and prints its paws in the snow.
Higher and higher, fluffy, loose snow grew in the forest.
In the field, he was only knee-deep. And in the forest, if you go without skis, you could fall to the waist.
But even in the forest, snowflakes did not find peace for themselves, they could not save their outfit forever. What happened to them after?
We'll have to wait until spring to find out.
