Acceptance of documents for training in residency programs has started at the Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko on Monday, July 10, 2017. Rules for obtaining continuous vocational education have changed - the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia has become effective, which establishes new order admission of future residents.

Order of the Ministry of Health Russian Federation No. 212n entered into force on June 19. Now admission to residency has become "the most impartial, transparent and based on the objective achievements of students." There has been a unification of the requirements for applicants - from this year they pass the accreditation exam, which is the same for Russia. The qualifications of a specialist wishing to undergo residency training are assessed using three-level tests. Future residents are tested, solve situational problems, demonstrate practical skills in simulated conditions.

The official order of the Ministry of Health indicates several more fundamental conditions that distinguish the admission campaign for residency in 2017 from past years. From now on, there is a single system for awarding points for individual merit throughout the country. Additional points are awarded to applicants for a diploma with honors, scholarships from the President and the Government of the Russian Federation, nominal scholarships as well as work experience.

In addition, the Ministry allocated 50 points, which universities can distribute on their own. VSMU adds points for prizes received at All-Russian Olympiads and conferences, nominal scholarships, participation in the All-Russian Festival of Arts for medical students, sports achievements, as well as volunteering.

Entrance tests for foreign citizens

Admission to the Voronezh Medical Institute for foreign citizens consists in writing an application, providing documents and passing tests in the Russian language, chemistry and biology. In higher education programs, the passing score is determined annually at the end of the admission campaign. It means the smallest number of points among enrolled applicants.
