Many would agree that biographies interesting personalities of all times will be popular and will not go unnoticed in any age. Biography of the clairvoyant Vanga can be referred to as such.

Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova, or as she was later called Baba Vanga, was born on January 31, 1911 in the family of Paraskeva and Panda Surchev. Born in the small town of Strumica then Ottoman Empire. Now this city is located in the Republic of North Macedonia, but in 1912 the city was transferred to Bulgaria, which is why Baba Vanga is credited with Bulgarian origin.

Vanga's birthday is January 31, she was born exactly at midnight, which is why the date of birth was considered a new day.

As a child, she was premature and suffered from health complications. She was born as a seven month old baby. The fingers on all limbs were fused, as were her ears.

In accordance with local tradition, the child was not given a name until it was clear that he could survive. As soon as the little girl screamed, the doctor decided to go outside and ask the name of the first person she met. In those days, this was a Bulgarian tradition, and in no way was it considered strange.

The stranger's name was Andromache (Andromache), but this name was rejected because of the Greek origin during the period of anti-Hellenic sentiments in Bulgarian society.

Another suggestion of a stranger was the name Vangelia (Vangelia, Evangelos). This name is also of Greek origin, but because of its popularity, they decided to leave it.

The girl's relatives believed that the name of Vangelia would help her get back on her feet, which happened. February 26 in the Vanga family is considered her second birthday, since it was then that she began to recover. In the future, the girl was christened under her full name.

Pande, Vanga's father, was an ordinary farmer, which is why the family did not live well. Paraskeva was the mother of Vangelia and was, by today's standards, an ordinary housewife. They spoke of the mother as a bright and kind person, which cannot be said about Vanga's father.

By the way, the temple, built with the money of Vangelia in the future, was named in honor of the mother - the Temple of St. Paraskeva.

The fortuneteller grew up as an ordinary girl, her eyes were brown, and her hair was light blond. Her father was an activist drafted into the army during World War I, and her mother died shortly after a difficult birth. At the time of her mother's death, she was only 3 years old.

This caused Vanga to become dependent on the care and mercy of neighbors and close family friends for much of her youth. While her father was at war, Asania, a neighbor of Turkish origin, was engaged in raising the girl.

Vanga was considered a smart girl for her age. Her inclinations began to show when she herself came up with games. The clairvoyant loved to play "healing" - prescribing herbs to her friends who pretended to be sick. Back in childhood Bulgarian seer blindfolded herself and looked for various objects.

Neighbors noted her diligence and perseverance. The girl has always been against laziness and sloppiness. In these difficult years, she looked like a very thin girl, which did not prevent her from enjoying life.

Everyone thought that the child had lost the second parent, but almost three years later, Pande, Vanga's father, returned from the war. After the war, Strumica joined Serbia.

The Serbian authorities arrested my father because of his Bulgarian activities. They confiscated all his property and the family lived in poverty for many years. Her father remarried, providing a stepmother for his daughter. The new mother's name was Tanka.

Because of the military regime in the city, my father was dragged to prison, where he stayed for some time. In prison, he was severely tortured and beaten. The return from prison took place in 1922, a little earlier he had a son from Tanka named Vasil. Tanka was able to replace Vanga's mother, neighbors and the child spoke of her as a kind and hardworking woman.

After the events, the father began to work as a shepherd, the stepmother kept the household and raised the children. Vanga started working at the age of 11, helping her parents transport milk.

Life was very poor, in connection with which the family decided to move to Pande's homeland in Novo Strumishko village, then the Ottoman Empire. Pande's brother lived there, who married very well and lived quite richly, but had no children.

Loss of vision and enrollment in school

According to Vanga's own predictions, the turning point in her life came when a "tornado" allegedly lifted her into the air and threw her into a nearby field.

The girl was found after a long search. Witnesses described her as very frightened, and her eyes were covered with sand and dust and she could not open them because of the pain. The family only had enough money for a partial operation to heal the injuries she sustained. This led to a gradual loss of vision.

At that time, in the city of Zemun of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, there was specialized school for blind children. The future psychic was brought there in 1925. She was taught the ordinary abilities taught and healthy children: knitting, sewing, playing the piano, writing, cooking and more.

At school, the seer met Dimitar, who later became her husband. He was from a wealthy family.

Three years after training, Tanka dies and Vanga again has to return home, because in their family there was a replenishment, she had another brother and sister. Since they lived in poverty, and Vanga remained the eldest among the children, she had to work all day.

In 1939, the girl fell ill with pleurisy, as she stood barefoot for a long time on the street in line for the poor people's allowance. And despite the various beliefs of doctors, she soon got on her feet.

In 1940, as predicted, her father died. Pande got sick skin disease. In the autumn of the same year, he died, after which the lives of the brothers and sisters were divided. The brothers left to work, while the sisters stayed at home.

War years

During World War II, Strumica was ceded to Bulgaria. At that time, Vanga attracted believers with her ability to heal and predict.

Many people visited it with the hope of getting a hint about whether their relatives were alive, and in the event of their death, to find the place of their death or burial. Even she herself did not remember how Vanga became a clairvoyant.

During the war, Dimitar finds her again and on May 10, 1942 they sign. The seer becomes Gushterova. Shortly before marriage, Dimitar and Vanga moved to Petrich, where she soon became famous. Dimitra was then drafted into the army and had to spend some time in northern Greece, which at that time was taken over by Bulgaria.

In 1947, he was severely injured, causing him to drink heavily and eventually die on April 1, 1962.

During life together with her husband, the fortune teller already accepted petitioners as a seer and healer. And even on the day of the funeral, she received “clients”.

After the death of Dimitra, the clairvoyant put on a black widow's scarf, which she never took off after. Since she and her husband did not have children, she took care of orphans for a long time.

When Wang died

Vanga passed away in 1996. The cause of death was breast cancer. The clairvoyant was 85 years old. When my grandmother felt unwell in terms of her state of health, she turned to her doctor, who made this diagnosis. But since the seer did not recognize traditional medicine, she refused to operate. Because of this, she died three years earlier than her prediction of death. But a month before her death, she changed the dates of her life with a new prediction, and she turned out to be right.

The seer died in the hospital, where she was brought after a severe deterioration in her condition. She went into a coma for a few days and then died.

In the hospital, she refused the help of the medical staff, as she said "God's will for everything." The so-called psychic assured that she knows what awaits a person after death. According to her, the body, as it should be, decomposes like all life on earth, and the soul, in turn, continues to live and go through the next stages of evolution. Thus, she argued that the human soul is immortal.

Doctors recall that on the eve of August 11, her condition improved, she asked to refresh her body with a shower. She also asked me to perfume her. The next morning at 9 o'clock, the clairvoyant said that at night her dead relatives came to her and talked to her.

An hour later, at exactly 10 am, the doctors diagnosed cardiac arrest. How long did Vanga live? Nearly 85 years old.

Having fulfilled the last will and testament of Vanga, her house in Petrichi was turned into a museum. It opened 12 years after the death of a famous grandmother.

Vanga was not literate enough in terms of Bulgarian, she could read Braille in Serbian, which she had learned at school in Zemun. She never wrote herself, all the notes from her words were once made by people who worked for her or simply helped.

Later they began to write a large number of esoteric books about predictions and just about the life of Vanga. There are also many manuscripts about Vanga's biography and her personal life.

Some people say that the clairvoyant predicted the breakup Soviet Union, the Chernobyl disaster, the September 11 tragedy, the exact date of Stalin's death, tensions with North Korea th, the disaster with the Kursk submarine, the victory of the chess player Topalov in the World Tournament and many other important and shocking dates in the world.

Although, on the other hand, very close people of the clairvoyant claim that she never made such statements and predictions. The healer never stuttered about the September 11 tragedy, about the crash of the Kursk, about North Korea, and so on.

They claim that these are all the tricks of intruders who want to earn on the honest name of insight using the Internet and others. different ways. All this is a lie, and only dishonors the name, gift, nationality, family and, in principle, its existence.

In August 1976, the Yugoslav actress Silvana Armenulich was present in Bulgaria with concerts and took the opportunity to visit Baba Vanga. The meeting was unpleasant.

The healer just sat and looked out the window with her back to Sylvanas. Silent. After a long time, she finally spoke: “Nothing. You don't have to pay. I do not want to speak with you. Definitely not now. Leave and try to come back in three months.”

When Sylvanas turned and went to the door, Vanga said: “Wait. I can say with certainty that you can't do it. Go, go. But if suddenly you succeed, then do it in three months.

Sylvanas took this as confirmation that she would die and left the house in tears. Armenulić died two months later on October 10, 1976, in a car accident with her sister Mirjana.

The seer also has many false prophecies on her account. She made a mistake in predicting the 1994 football championship. She said that two teams would fight in the final, and their names begin with the letter "B" in Latin.

Brazil turned out to be true, but Italy destroyed this prophecy by beating Bulgaria in the semi-finals. According to Baba Vanga, the third World War was supposed to start in 2010 and last 4 years, which, of course, did not come true. But close people also claim that this is a lie. Moreover, she always said the opposite about the war.

The soothsayer allegedly predicted the emergence of another state, saying that a large number of cultures would spread through the so-called "false world". The seer claimed that in 2003, any person will learn to think at the same time as other people, which will help create the feeling of another world or existence.

Many say that the healer told about some little girl from France, who also became blind. According to the clairvoyant, this girl should inherit Vanga's gift, she will be as famous as Vanga herself.

Another prediction attributed to her is that the 44th President of the United States will be the nation's last commander in chief. While Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017 appears to have debunked this prediction, it should be noted that Trump is technically the 44th person to hold office, due to both the 22nd and 24th presidencies being filled. Grover Cleveland.

Her supporters also claimed that the fortune teller predicted that the 45th president would have a "messianic personality." He will face a crisis that will eventually "destroy the country".

Some evidence has also been presented that Baba Vanga did not make many of the predictions now attributed to her, and people often attribute new false "prophecies" to her after her death.

The absence of a written account of her prophecies makes it possible to invent any prediction, and those attributed to her are difficult to refute.

After the death of the clairvoyant, numerous stories, documentaries and art films. For example, Vangelia, a 24-episode biographical series with elements of mysticism, was ordered in 2013 by the First Channel of Russia.

The image of the soothsayer is very popular in Eastern Europe, especially in Balkan countries and in Russia. Russian publications related to the mysterious prophetess are numerous. There is even a Big Encyclopedia Vangi is a Russian online project dedicated to her.

Biography of Vangelia very heavy and makes you think about many things. 20 years have passed since the death of the clairvoyant, and rumors and disputes about her gift still do not subside among society.

Vanga was buried in the village of Rupite, Blagoevgrad region in Bulgaria, which, thanks to her, became famous all over the world.

But whatever the spiteful critics of Vanga's activities do not write or say, most of her visitors were satisfied after visiting. According to her close people, Vanga throughout the time of her help to people received gratitude of various kinds and in various forms.

Vanga's biography

She saved hundreds of people from diseases, and she herself chose to face death, not wanting to fight her, as if knowing that she was destined to leave. Vanga met death with a smile on her face, grateful and dignified, as, perhaps, it should have been at her age. When Vanga died, the newspapers wrote - "the most informed grandmother on the planet left this world."

Vanga's biography has been counting down since 1911. Vanga's life began in the city of Strumica, in Macedonia. The girl was so weak at birth that she did not even have the strength to cry. To kid with fused fingers and toes at first, her parents did not even give a name, thinking that she would not survive, but she managed. And then she was christened Vangelia - from the Greek "bringing the good news."

Vanga was left without a mother as a child, and she was raised by a caring stepmother, but at the age of 12 another misfortune happened to the girl - she fell into a terrible storm that deprived her of her sight. There was no money for emergency surgery, and Vanga was blind for life. Starting at the age of 14, Vanga lived in the House of the Blind, where she learned to knit, sew, cook, read and met a young man whom she even planned to marry. But the death of her stepmother forced her to return home - her father needed her help. For the next 10 years, Vanga devoted herself to housework until she collapsed with severe pleurisy. It seemed that she could no longer get out, when suddenly she not only recovered, but also began to notice amazing abilities.

Vanga then fell into long trances, then began to speak in other people's voices and predict the future for people. Soon, rumors about Vanga's gift spread throughout the district and people began to come to her with different corners not only the country, but the world. They say, Vanga was almost never wrong in her prophecies- except in last years when she is old and weak. She did not refuse help to anyone, she only expelled Kashpirovsky, Chumak and Juna's students. Researchers who observed Vanga confirmed: predictions can't be counted coincidences , as they came true in 80% of cases.

Once Dimitar Gushterov came to the fortuneteller for help, and after a while he became the husband of Vanga and took her to Petrich. Vanga could not have her own children, but once she sheltered an orphan boy, Dimitar Volchev, who once knocked on her house and became son Vange. Also in the house of the soothsayer was brought up Vanga's adopted daughter- Venetta. Later, Venetta admits that Vanga was her strict but fair mother, who loves cleanliness and cooks deliciously.

The year the fortune teller found out she had breast cancer and refused treatment was year of Vanga's death. She died on August 10, 1996, having bequeathed all her property to the state, leaving nothing to her family. Vanga's funeral took place on the territory of the temple, built at the expense of Vanga. In Petrich, in the house where Vanga lived, was later created Vanga Memorial Museum. The pilgrimage to Vanga's grave continues to this day.
The assassination attempt on the 35th US President John F. Kennedy, the rebellion in Czechoslovakia, the assassination of Robert Kennedy, the death of Indira Gandhi, the collapse of the USSR, the accident on the Kursk submarine - Vanga's prophecies can be listed endlessly. Some of them are overgrown with legends, some are inventions and machinations on the name of a famous soothsayer. One way or another, for those people who turned to her, Vanga was a great person with the gift of clairvoyance and healing, who received more than a million visitors in her life.

For Bulgaria, Vanga is definitely a holy woman.

Prophecies and predictions of Vanga

One of the legends about Vanga's predictions says that in 1943 Hitler himself visited her and that she told him: “Leave Russia alone! You will lose this war!". Hitler laughed in the face of the fortuneteller, then she told him to send his soldiers to such and such a house, they say, a mare is foaling there and her foal will be of such and such a color. The soldiers left, then returned and conveyed what they saw, word for word, predicted by Vanga. After which Hitler left in heavy thought.

I am posting a continuation of my old notes about Vanga - this time about her love. When I spoke with Vanga's relatives and neighbors in Bulgaria, the thought was spinning in my head all the time - wow, the great prophetess, but in her personal life she suffered like simple woman. A drunkard husband, the eternal cross of many women. But she endured, did not leave him, loved him. But she didn't. In the photo - she is with her husband, the only and beloved, her father, sister and house in Petrich. Here is my note about Vanga's love:

"Fatal love Vanga

I am a martyr! Vanga said about herself.
She helped people solve their problems all her life. To find out their future, the afflicted brought pieces of sugar to Vanga. But her life has never been sweet. Even love for a man has become a bitter lot. But Vanga remained faithful to her husband Dimitar Gushterov for life.

Novel
People most often represent Vanga as a blind, hunched-over old woman.
Today we give you unique opportunity see her in the picture as she was in her youth. Swift, impetuous and full of tenderness...
- My aunt in her youth and youth was a very attractive woman, - Vanga's niece Krasimira Stoyanova shows us photographs from the family archive. - Slender, with a wonderful figure, sweet face. Even blind eyes did not spoil the overall impression. She was energetic, agile, very neat. A sharp mind and sense of humor made her the soul of any company. Vanga's first love happened in a boarding school for the blind in the city of Zemun - she studied there from fifteen to eighteen years old. A young man Dimitar from the village of Gyoto, also blind, confessed his feelings for the girl.
Wang really liked him. Their romance was pure and innocent. The young man proposed to Vanga a marriage proposal. His parents, and they were rich by local standards, agreed to the marriage. Vanga and Dimitar were already dreaming of a wedding. And, had it happened, the life of a blind girl would have flowed in a completely different way. But everything turned out differently.

Rock
Vanga's stepmother suddenly died in the city of Strumitz. And the father demanded that the daughter return home immediately. Vanga, obedient to him, said goodbye forever to her beloved. Those who lost their first love will understand her pain, her tears. By the will of her father, she herself renounced her happiness. In order to raise children left without a mother in poverty.
Vangelia became a nanny for her brothers and sister. Vasil was six years old, Tom was four, Lyubka was only two...
And after the death of her father, Vanga remained the only support of the family. She herself nearly died of pleurisy in 1941. And in the same year, as soon as she got on her feet, she began to prophesy. She accurately told her neighbors the date of the Nazi attack on Yugoslavia, where her family then lived: April 6, 1941.
Even then, Vanga became indispensable for the entire district, because she accurately predicted the fate of the soldiers who had gone to war. Who is alive, who is dead, who is missing.
Vanga's relatives described that time as follows:
“Vanga stood in front of a lit lamp and spoke in a low and strong voice, completely different from the one she usually had. She was very frail, but looked majestic. It seemed that just about - and take off, soar into the air. The face changed, shone as if radiating light. Vanga spoke without ceasing, with amazing accuracy called the names of the mobilized men, the area, the events that happened to them ... "

Feelings
One of the predictions associated with passionate love glorified the young Vanga throughout the district. At the very beginning of the war, she told the mother of her countryman Hristo Prchanov that her missing son was alive, but would not return soon.
Pavlina, the bride of the young man, did not believe this prediction and married another guy. A year later, Christo returned. And it was Pavlina who saw him first on the market square! She fainted, because she considered the groom dead! Following the news of the betrayal of his beloved, Christo waited new blow. The mother, embracing her son, died of a broken heart...
People came to Vanga not only for prophecies. She received the gift of a healer. In some amazing way, a simple woman felt what kind of herb could help a particular person. Her recipes were often unexpected. For example, she advised a mentally ill woman to be poured with water in which herbs growing by the river were soaked, and she recovered! Vanga called herself doctor-koy - in Bulgarian it means "healer".
If not new love, then Vanga's glory would go to Yugoslavia - her home country. She lived in the city of Strumica and did not think of leaving her beloved Macedonia. But things turned out differently...

Groom
The Bulgarian guy Dimitar Gushterov won Vanga's heart. He was brought to her by misfortune.
Vanga was then thirty-one years old, but she seemed much younger. Dimitar Gushterov was twenty-three. A swarthy handsome guy came to Vanga to find the killers of his brother.
- I have to take revenge on them! - Dimitar fumed on the way to the prophetess, telling fellow travelers about his grief. - My brother left three children and a wife with tuberculosis ...
He was still only in the courtyard of the house, when Vanga came out to meet him herself.
“I know why you came to me,” she said. “You want me to name the killers of your brother. Maybe I'll tell you their names, but not now. You must promise me that you will not retaliate. God will punish them, and you will become a witness of this...
The shocked Dimitar came to Vanga many times that spring. They talked about everything in the world. And soon they felt that they were in love ...
Dimitar took the bride away from Strumice on April 22, 1942. Together with her sister Lyubka - the brothers were then mobilized - Vanga began to live in her husband's house in the Bulgarian city of Petrich.

House
On May 10, Vanga married Dimitar. His mother Magdalena did not rejoice in her marriage to a blind girl:
Is this, son, your happiness?
In a tiny house on Opolchenskaya Street, 10, besides Dimitar and Vanga, a bunch of relatives huddled. His mother, three nephews from the deceased brother and his sick widow, as well as two more children of two other brothers.
Vanga and her sister Lyubka took care of all household chores. The blind girl washed, cooked, sewed, knitted, cleaned the house. Imagine how much effort it took!
There was no time to rest. Having heard that the famous prophetess had moved to Petrich, people were drawn to Vanga. For divination, she asked to bring them a piece of sugar.
Then, years later, scientists agonized over the solution of this riddle: is it really refined sugar that helps Vanga find out everything about the person who has come? Many versions were put forward: and the fact that its crystals, if you hold them under your pillow at night, somehow record information about a person. And the fact that here, as in homeopathy, the grains "remember" the state of matter...
And the secret is simple - you need to look for it in the hungry past.
During the war, sugar was a much harder "currency" than money. And Vanga then had to feed his family.

Conflict
Dimitar loved his wife very much, but was burdened by her fame as a fortune teller.
- You have to end this! he told her more than once. - Do only home and family, like all other women!
“But then we will die of hunger,” she answered. - My beloved Mitko, you cannot provide for your entire family now. Besides, people need my gift. Who will help them now, if not me?
It is no coincidence that Dimitar was afraid for his wife: Vanga was pursued by the police. Two local gendarmes - Dimitar Chuchurov and Boris Lazarov - constantly visited her house and demanded to report enemies of the authorities.
- If you don't cooperate, we'll send you to a concentration camp! they threatened.
Vanga flatly refused to spy. She was not sent to the camp, but they began to demand money. This racket, started by fascist accomplices in tsarist Bulgaria, was then continued by the communists. It is amazing: the authorities changed, but they always demanded the same thing from the blind prophetess - espionage and money!
The Nazis nevertheless took revenge on Vanga for his intractability. Her husband was sent to the front, to Greece.
Vanga managed to say goodbye to Dimitar:
- You will return alive, but beware of the water!
Dimitar caught hepatitis, which then tormented him all his life.
And the fate of Vanga's sister and brothers during the war developed differently. Vasil was a partisan in Yugoslavia, he died heroically on the day of his birth, as predicted by his sister. Tome's younger brother also fought against the Nazis. He survived and lived all his life in Yugoslavia, died in 1981). And sister Lyubka in 1947 got married in Petrich and did not part with Vanga until her death.

Passion
Returning from the front, Dimitar built a new house on the site of an old hut. He overworked himself and began to suffer from stomach pains. One of my friends advised me to drown the pain with vodka. First - a glass of brandy before dinner. Then - and before dinner.
“Mitko, you can’t drink,” Vanga convinced her husband.
And he only remained silent in response. Became withdrawn, irritable. He locked himself in his room - and drank, drank, drank ...
Vanga cried, prayed. One day she told her sister that she knew for sure that Dimitar would not overcome his passion for vodka:
He's doomed...
Every day to Vanga for help hundreds of people came, but she did not show them her own misfortune with a word or a tear. They told her about their problems, sought help. And no one knew that this woman, merciful to everyone, suffers immeasurably: she becomes an inveterate drunkard, the most beloved and dear person to her dies from vodka!
Dimitar's cirrhosis of the liver worsened, dropsy began.
He was in the hospital, and Vanga did not leave his bed. The attending physician Peter Delijski told her that there was no hope, but Vanga herself had known this for a long time.
She took her husband home. Vanga knelt beside his bed, wept and prayed. When Mitko died, Vanga fell asleep. She slept through until the funeral. And, waking up, she said to her sister Lyubka:
- I accompanied his soul to the place where it was determined ...
On that day, Vanga put on a black widow's clothes. Her relatives suggested that the people who came to her for help disperse:
We are in grief...
But Vanga went out into the yard, as always. Quietly she said:
- Don't chase them. I will accept everyone...
She tried to satisfy her sadness with work. And always, until her death, she remembered Dimitra as the only man in her life. God did not give them his children, and Vanga suffered greatly from this. She became a godmother to 15,000 children.
Was Vanga's marriage happy? Don't be too quick to say no. How many women in the world love their promiscuous drinking husbands more than anything?!
Vanga lived with Mitko for twenty years. And she always spoke of him with tenderness, without reproaching a single word. So she loved a lot. Yes, I suffered from his drunkenness. But she always considered Dimitra her protector:
- If my husband were alive, - said the widowed Vanga, - he would not give me offense. Mitko would stand up for me...
Wang was offended hard. It got to the point that the Bulgarian authorities tried to accuse her of espionage. But about this - in the next part of the investigation "Who killed Vanga."
Grigory Telnov, first published in the newspaper "Life" in 2006.

She became a legend during her lifetime. In her hometown Petrich still does not talk about her in the past tense. People believe that Vanga still works miracles.

Vanga's name is on the radar again today. The words and predictions of the great soothsayer are increasingly being confirmed. What do we know about Wang and how much do we still have to learn? Her whole fate is woven from mysteries and amazing contradictions. Here are just a few of them:

1. Mystery of the name

Now it is difficult to imagine that the world famous seer could have received a completely different name at birth. And instead of Vanga, she would be ... Andromache. But, indeed, the future soothsayer did not receive her name immediately, but only two months after birth. She was born incredibly weak, seven months old. Parents were afraid that the child simply would not survive, so they decided to choose a name only after she was more or less stronger.

According to the old Bulgarian tradition, they went out into the street and asked the name of the first person they met, but the girl's grandmother did not like the choice of a random passerby. She immediately rejected the beautiful ancient Greek name Andromache, contrary to all customs. And only the second woman she met named the fateful name of Vangelia - the bearer of the good news.

2. Strange games

Until the age of 12, Vanga lived on her own ordinary life the most ordinary child, but the amazing future seemed to be already on the threshold, waiting for the right moment to meet. Vanga's relatives recalled that she was very fond of inventing games for herself as a child. One of the strangest was this: in the yard, in a secluded place, she hid a simple toy; she returned to the house, tightly closed her eyes, and by feel, as if blind, went to look for her. The parents of the game "blindly" were apprehensive, but, despite all the prohibitions, it was this kind of entertainment that was one of the girl's favorites.

3. First love

At the age of 12, during a terrible hurricane, Vanga was badly injured and lost her sight. When she turned 15, she was taken to the city of Zemun, to a home for the blind. She recalled parting with her family at such an incredibly reverent age as one of the most difficult events in her life. Surprisingly, it was these three years spent in the house of the blind that Vanga then considered the happiest period of her life - it was here that she met her first love.

The young boy's name was Dimitar. But Vangelia married much later for a completely different Dimitar. And her first love ended tragically for her - the lovers were separated, Vanga returned to her home to help her family and for a long time suffered from the cruelty of fate. And then Vanga realized her unique abilities and realized that her mission in life was to help others, and love was a luxury inaccessible to her.

4. Keeper of secrets

It seems that Vanga knew everything about the origin of the world and about each person individually. No one could hide anything from her, but she herself knew how to keep secrets. For example, Wang was often asked if there is life after the death of a person? “I have no right to answer this question,” she said.

The clairvoyant also avoided answering questions about the apocalypse. She never talked about the end of the world and never predicted it. She answered evasively to questions about the origin of the world, arguing that humanity itself would know this secret, and she simply had no right to reveal other people's secrets.

5. civil servant

Since 1967, Vanga was officially considered a civil servant and even received a salary. She became the first soothsayer who was officially allowed to take money for an appointment.

To get to her, it was necessary not only to stand in a huge queue, but first to get a special ticket, for which it was supposed to pay a small fee. All the money went straight to the treasury, and Vanga was entitled to only a small salary.

6. Children

Vanga loved children very much, treated her nephews with special trepidation and care and became a godmother for almost three thousand children. She said many times that her mission is predetermined from above and is completely different. Although she herself really wanted to become a mother, and after the death of her husband, she took two adopted children.

The first Vanga adopted a 6-year-old girl Violetta(according to other sources - Veneta(Venche)). Then the seer baptized a little sick boy who could die at any moment. But he survived, becoming her adopted son. Vanga named the boy in honor of her husband Dimitar. Both children received a good education. Violetta married a wealthy man. Foster-son Dmitry Vylchev is one of the founders of the Vanga Foundation and works as a prosecutor in the city of Petrich.

7. healer

Vanga not only predicted the future and accurately told about the past, she treated people for a variety of diseases. Moreover, with unusual methods, she confused both doctors and representatives of alternative medicine, offering people simple, but sometimes quite strange recipes.

She used herbs as medicines, which, according to experienced herbalists, had no medicinal properties. At the same time, she often indicated the exact place where exactly it was necessary to get this or that medicinal plant. This is inexplicable, but Vanga's recipes turned out to be effective and gave results. However, to cure a beloved husband from alcohol addiction Vanga couldn't. She knew that tragedy could not be avoided, but she hoped for a miracle. Also, the soothsayer could not influence the course of her illness. Vanga died on April 11, 1996, exactly on the day that she herself predicted.

Vanga is a world famous seer and healer. This simple woman from Bulgaria became famous for her gift to predict the future and heal those in need. For many years she determined the diseases of people with great accuracy and unraveled their fate, thanks to which she became the most authoritative psychic of the 20th century. After her death, people began to worry about the question of whether Vanga had children who could adopt the gift of clairvoyance. Below we will talk about her personal life, relatives and family.

Biography: origin and family

The girl was named after folk customs: relatives went out into the street and asked the first person they met to name any female name, but they didn’t like it (Andromache), then they asked another person and after that the girl was named Vangelia (“Good News”).

But the fate of the baby was not very successful. With the beginning of the First World War, her father was taken into the army, and her mother died, the neighbors sheltered the girl.

Father, returning home, married a second time. Land plot he was taken away for debts and the family had to move to live in another village. Here, a misfortune happened to 12-year-old Vangelia - she fell into a strong hurricane, she was littered with trees, and her eyes were covered with sand. There was no cure so she went blind.

For a while, the father sent his daughter to the house of the blind, where she was taught to read and take care of herself. Here she met a young man whom she was going to marry, but her stepmother died and the girl had to return to her father to help raise her younger brothers.

Activity and gift of clairvoyance Vanga

The soothsayer gained public fame during the Second World War, in the surrounding cities they began to say that she could tell about the fate of those who disappeared in the war. And now a stream of people goes to her house, wanting to find their relatives. This happened after becoming very ill, presumably with pleurisy, she was able to recover quickly, while being in an emaciated state, as she constantly had to starve.

According to the seer's followers, Vanga could heal, but if she did not succeed, she sent the person to someone who would definitely help. The most interesting thing is that she never knew these healers, but simply told the patient where and what kind of person lives.

Soon the rumor about the woman spread through the nearest cities, because her predictions really came true. The Minister of Culture of Bulgaria began to provide her with any assistance, in addition, she was registered as a civil servant and a salary was assigned. Previously, the clairvoyant did not take money, she only accepted gifts brought by visitors.

The brightest predictions about Crimea and America

Over time, they learned about her all over the world, newspapers began to print her prophecies and were no longer in demand without them. Many major world events were described to her in advance and came true:

  • At the end of 1952, she foreshadowed Stalin quick death for which she was put in jail. But in 1953, after his death, she was released;
  • Kennedy's death was predicted to her 4 months before the assassination. Vanga said that there would be an attempt on his life.
  • Vangelia promised perestroika in the USSR 6 years before it began. But at that time this information was carefully hidden from people. However, some data reached the people. For example, Druzhba magazine dared to print her words: "An unusual spring will come to the country."

Some predictions were already about our days. She also warned about the terrible terrorist attacks in America: “ Iron birds will shed innocent blood, the Americans will fall. Fear, fear!". Or the events in Crimea: Crimea will break away from the coast and stick to another". There were many opponents who considered her a charlatan.

Criticism and unfulfilled predictions

The Vanga phenomenon was studied even by academicians. The chairman of the commission to combat pseudoscience, E. Alexandrov, argued that the Bulgarian clairvoyant is a state marketing ploy aimed at attracting pilgrims and tourists.

In this performance, in his opinion, many people participated: taxi drivers and waiters who met visitors at railway stations, hotel employees, reported to the seer the information received about tourists, which she then gave out as her visions.

And even special services, according to the academician, were involved in this. After all, it's no secret to anyone that Vangeliya Gushterova collaborated with them.

Even our Chekists were interested in the clairvoyant, one of the KGB generals said that Vanga was often mistaken, but it was not profitable to expose it, since birds of the highest flight came to her and thus it was possible to get information about them from her. Her specially promoted by local special services - it was profitable on a global scale.

Among other things, now it is becoming more and more known about unfulfilled predictions:

  • In 2010, she promised the start of the Third World War with the use of nuclear weapons;
  • IN 2014 - mass death people from cancer and skin diseases.

Which call into question her competence and, probably, for the better.

Vanga's family and children

After the death of her husband, Vangelia adopted a terminally ill boy for adoption. He was supposed to die soon, but miraculously survived. In honor of her husband new mom She named her son Dimitar.

The daughter got married, nothing more is known about her, since her mother forbade her to tell anyone about her life until the time comes.
