Also for soft waffles butter you need to take more than the other ingredients, and the dough should have a less liquid consistency than for crispy waffles.

The butter for the dough should be softened at room temperature or melted, preferably in a water bath, but so that it does not boil.

And if you prepare the dough for thin waffles without sugar and vanillin, you will get not a dessert, but an appetizer - pate or cheese is suitable here.

To make chocolate waffles, you can basically add cocoa powder to any waffle batter. For a good chocolate taste, cocoa powder should contain 90% cocoa beans.

The thickness of the dough and the ingredients used in it also change the cooking time: a portion of waffles with butter will be ready in less than 1 minute, and waffles with milk or kefir - in a few minutes.

Before baking, the waffle iron needs to be warmed up well, since if the temperature is insufficient, the waffles will not have time to bake.

If you have a heavy waffle iron from the 80s (our population still has many of them), then you need to bake in it for 15-20 seconds on each side. Before baking, grease the inside with oil. If you have a new waffle iron, then to prevent the dough from sticking in it, add potato starch to it - one tablespoon or two of vegetable oil is enough. If the waffle iron has a non-stick coating, then it does not need to be lubricated.

Of course, it’s much easier to cook homemade waffles in a waffle iron, but if you don’t have one, you can do it in a frying pan. It needs to be lubricated with oil and warmed up well. Then spread the batter over the frying pan and bake the waffles over low heat so that they dry rather than bake. Waffles take longer to cook in a frying pan than in a waffle iron, but they turn out just as tasty.

To make the waffles beautiful and golden, you need to add one teaspoon of turmeric to the dough.

To prevent the finished waffles from softening and sticking together, do not place them hot on top of each other.

Hot thin waffles can be rolled into a tube (using a knife and a napkin so as not to get burned) and filled with protein cream when they cool, and you can cook with soft waffles.

Waffles are good served with condensed milk, honey, sour cream, whipped cream, or you can sprinkle with powdered sugar.
