A resonant tragedy occurred in Kazan.

The story of 22-year-old Sitora B. has already spread throughout Russia. The girl died in an accident on the Raifa-Kulbash highway, in the Zelenodolsk region of Tatarstan. The circumstances of her death were shocking. As it turned out, while driving a Daewoo Matiz, the girl simultaneously broadcast a video on her social network page. The last minutes of her life were captured by a mobile phone camera.

The footage of the video shows Sitora, smiling, greeting subscribers, asking how they are doing, and wondering “who is going where.” For a moment, the girl was distracted by looking at the phone, and at that moment the video recording, accompanied by a terrible screeching of brakes, was cut off.

Drivers, especially those with little driving experience, should be focused on driving,” commented "Living Kuban" Head of the Traffic Safety Propaganda Department and Relations with the Media Irina Zavatskaya. - It is very difficult for young drivers to control the traffic situation. The cause may be either excessive tension or negligence. The fact is that his attention is concentrated on one thing and he does not see the whole situation. For example, when driving through an intersection, a driver may not notice another car.

"For the innocent killed"

From fire to fire, from word to word
The soul lights up the soul
There's a hoarse wind in the sky
The funeral service begins.

Where you touched the ground,
A new ear sprouts
The giant will notice you
And the blind man will recognize you.

You will warm the earth with fire,
Renewing all living things
And in the night you will wake up the dawn,
Replacing the sun in the sky.

And having known everything secrets of life,
You will open the door of the universe
I will remember my prayer
For the innocent killed.

I feel very sorry for those who were killed INNOCENTLY!
We, the people, have lost a huge human
the culture in these souls is innocently lost
in a transport accident!

What beautiful people! What sincere faces!
WE ARE CONDOLENT!
Stay strong, family and friends,
hold on friends of the victims,
let your spiritual and physical strength grow stronger
for the sake of life on Earth, for the sake of Life for LIFE,
which can no longer be returned!
Live and hold on, the loss cannot be replaced!
God help you!

"Our Father, who art in heaven!
Hallowed be Thy name,
may your kingdom come,
Thy will be done
as in heaven and on earth.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts,
just as we also leave our debtors;
and do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen."

Dear Petersburgers, we all understand,
that both those who died and the living need our prayers.

Rest, O Lord, the souls of those innocently killed in the Egyptian sky and earth, Thy servant

They say he wanders around Rome on moonlit nights ghost of a young girl. Scaring late loving couples, he follows the same route: Piazza Cinque Scole - Ponte Sant'Angelo - Church of San Pietro in Montorio.

Bridge of the Holy Angel

Many tried to photograph this, as defined by the poet Paolo Ugo Tozzi, “half-naked, with her head in her hands.” But the terrible, pupilless eyes of Beatrice Cenci illuminated photographic films a century earlier, and now “erase” the digital files of modern cameras.

Everything is clear with the ghost’s route: Beatrice walks from the square where she lived in one of the palaces, across the bridge where the girl was taken to the scaffold, and then to her final resting place, the grave in the mentioned church. But then - regarding the fate of this real resident of Rome in the 16th century - complete mysteries begin. Let's try to figure them out.

The classic legend of an innocent... parricide

This legend is built on a fact recorded in the chronicle: on September 11, 1599, a large protesting crowd gathered near the Ponte Sant’Angelo, now popular among tourists, but then serving as the “Place of Execution” of Rome. Residents (but mostly residents) of the city loudly protested against the highest decree, according to which Beatrice Cenci was elevated to the scaffold in order to beheaded as a parricide.

On the Bridge of the Holy Angel, following the young charmer, her brother and stepmother were executed. For they all took part in a conspiracy to kill the father of our heroine, Francesco Cenci, who served as keeper of the treasury of the Apostolic Chamber. However, the heated crowd was not too worried about these victims of justice. Everyone protested exclusively against the execution of the one who, according to one version, killed Francesco Cenci by driving a long nail into his neck.

As a result, a classic was born urban legend with the following story. The lustful old man Cenci, they say, imprisoned his young second wife and Beatrice in one of his palaces, where he forced both to participate in orgies, and, so to speak, with his eye on own daughter. The result of such actions was supposedly a “blow of honor”, albeit not with a dagger, but with a nail.

Having drugged Francesco with opium, the daughter entered his sleeping room, delivered a fatal blow to his throat, and then - with the help of relatives - threw her father out of the window into the elderberry bushes, trying to imitate the death of the “drunkard” from natural causes.

In folk tales and legends, such revenge for “offended honor” finds complete justification. As you know, people tend to sympathize more with innocent girls than with depraved old men.

Those who justify the parricide are not embarrassed by the cold-blooded behavior of the young criminal. But let’s think about what kind of nerves you need to have in order to deal with the “rapist” father, not spontaneously, in a state of passion from the atrocities he committed, but by planning an entire “cover-up action” for the murder and driving a sharp nail into the throat of the one who gave you life. ..

Palace of debauchery or place of imprisonment?

Often the study historical events akin to an archaeological excavation. You dug once - and the first layer of truth is revealed, buried under layers of centuries-old traditions, lies, legends. You dug again - and before you is a new layer of events, even more different from theirs. classic version. The situation is exactly the same with regard to Beatrice, “half-naked, with her head in her hands.” We start working in the archives and are immediately convinced: there are no reliable facts about the incestuous violence of a father against his daughter.

But what about the palace in which the “lustful father” imprisoned his daughter and young wife? Even here, the urban legend distorts events. For we're talking about not about the palace, but about the castle of La Petrello del Salto, located in the Abruzzo region. In this case, the seemingly unprincipled difference between a palace and a castle is extremely important. For the latter - the place of imprisonment of the daughter and stepmother - is located as much as 100 kilometers to the east from the Chenchi family palaces and is located in a difficult mountainous area.

Here it is more logical to assume that the purpose of imprisonment was not the desire to indulge in debauchery away from human eyes - this was quite feasible behind the high walls of one of the palaces on Cinque Skole Square - but the desire to deprive the captives of connections with the outside world.

We continue our research and find confirmation that old Francesco had - at least from his point of view - reasons to do just that. The fact is that shortly before the events described elder sister Beatrice-Antonia complained to Pope Clement VIII about her father not giving her consent to marry.

The pope gave her permission to marry, but took the lion's share of his fortune from Francesco - as a fine for his unmerciful attitude towards his daughter. Beatrice followed in the footsteps of the successful Antonia - with the only difference that her letter to Clement VIII was intercepted by her father's servants.

Francesco Cenci indeed did not give permission for his youngest daughter to marry. For Italy of those years, his stubbornness does not seem completely unfounded. For as a future husband, the young noblewoman Beatrice had her eye on an “unequal”: one of the servants.

Be that as it may, old Francesco had reason to be afraid of once again “getting into money” if his second daughter also got to Clement VIII, who was clearly not indifferent to the family’s wealth. Therefore, most likely, the keeper of the treasury of the Apostolic Chamber hid Beatrice in the impassable mountains - together with her stepmother, who helped her in writing the ill-fated letter.

To conclude this part of our “excavations,” we repeat: there is not a single piece of evidence that Francesco Cenci forced his youngest daughter to cohabitation and participation in orgies. But there is evidence according to which the beautiful Beatrice, even if she led the conspiracy against Francesco, was not a parricide.

Nail or hammer - that is the question

To this day, some historians repeat “well-known facts” about the execution that took place on the Bridge of Sant’Angelo on September 11, 1599. The guides echo the historians. There was nothing unusual in that execution, they say: the heads of the guilty were simply cut off, and that’s all.

Meanwhile, Beatrice's brother Giacomo was the only one executed in a very unconventional way, unlike the others. Before quartering Giacomo Cenci, the executioner crushed his head with a mace with multiple precise blows: so that the criminal would experience the greatest pain and horror from the inevitable. Why did they deal with Giacomo in such a cruel way if Beatrice was the parricide?

We continue our search in the archives. We find in the investigative documents in the case of the murder of Francesco Cenci information that the sleeping old man, whom Beatrice actually drugged with opium mixed in wine, had his head crushed with a hammer. And, according to confessions under torture, it was Beatrice’s brother who did this. Therefore, the real parricide was executed in a manner similar to the one he himself chose for the victim.

Did young Giacomo have reason to hate own father no less than in love with Beatrice's servant? Was he, according to legend, a victim of incest? Here everything is simpler: the guy laid claim to his father’s capital, was dissatisfied with the content assigned to him and, having achieved an audience, complained to the same Clement VIII - even before his sister Antonia’s visit to the Pope. It was from Giacomo Cenci that the pontiff learned about the true size of the family's treasures.

"The Girl with the Witch's Eyes"

At the time of her execution, Beatrice Cenci was 22 years old. Her youth, external attractiveness, as well as the legend of “revenge for violated innocence” subsequently attracted many outstanding creators who dedicated their works to the girl. To her image in different years addressed by Percy Shelley, Alexandre Dumas, Stendhal, Alberto Moravia, Oscar Wilde...

Meanwhile, in high Roman society late XVI centuries, and this is less known, Beatrice was famous as ... “the girl with the eyes of a witch.” Some of her contemporaries seriously argued that Beatrice, they say, “has no pupils.”

It is curious that we find evidence of this in the portrait of our heroine, which is attributed to the brush of Guido Reni (1575-1642).

What do we see on this canvas, taking a superficial look at it? A kind of embodied innocence, onto which waves of light fall, penetrating into the prison. Now let’s enlarge a fragment of the face of the “diva in white” and invite the reader to take a closer look at her eyes.
