Lord, I call to You, hear me. Hear me, Lord.

Lord, I cry to Thee, hear me: hearken to the voice of my supplication, always cry out to Thee. Hear me, Lord. May my prayer be corrected, like a censer before You, the uplifting of my hand, the evening sacrifice. Hear me, Lord.

God! I cry to Thee: hasten to me, heed the voice of my supplication when I call upon Thee. Let my prayer go like incense before Your face; the lifting up of my hands is like the evening sacrifice.

The verses of the psalms are sung in order. In parish churches, they are usually read to the verse marked: "by 10" or "by 8", "by 6", "by 4", depending on the number of stichera laid down.

  1. Lay, O Lord, a guardianship with my mouth, and a gate of protection against my mouth.
  2. Do not turn my heart into words of deceit, do not forgive the guilt of sins.
  3. With men who do iniquity, and I will not reckon with their chosen ones.
  4. The righteous will punish me with mercy and rebuke me: but let not the oil of a sinner anoint my head.
  5. Likewise, my prayer is in their favor, they were sacrificed at the stone of their judge.
  6. My words will be heard, as if they were able: as if the thickness of the earth had sat down on the earth, their bones were wasted in hell.
  7. As to Thee, O Lord, my eyes, in Thee of hope, do not take away my soul.
  8. Save me from the snare that has made me south, and from the temptation of those who do iniquity.
  9. Sinners will fall into their netherlands: I am one, until I pass away.

Set, O Lord, a guard over my mouth, and guard the door of my mouth. Do not let my heart deviate to evil words to excuse sinful deeds. Together with people who do iniquity, and let me not taste of their sweetness. Let the righteous punish me: this is mercy; let him reprove me; he shall not hurt my head. But my prayers are against their evil deeds. Their leaders scattered over the cliffs... They will hear my words as powerful, true; as the hard ground of the earth (torn by the plow) is crushed and scattered into different parts of the earth, so the bones of them (the wrongdoers) are scattered in the tomb. But to You, Lord, Lord, my eyes; I trust in You, do not reject my soul! Keep me from the snares set for me, from the temptations of the wicked. The wicked will fall in their nets, but I (by Your mercy) will pass away. (Psalm 140).

  1. With my voice I called to the Lord, with my voice I prayed to the Lord.
  2. I will pour out my supplication before Him, I will proclaim my sorrow before Him.
  3. Every now and then my spirit vanishes from me, and thou hast known my paths.
  4. On this path, walk along it, hiding the net for me.
  5. Look at the right hand and look, and do not know me.
  6. Perish flight from me, and seek my soul.
  7. I called to You, O Lord, rech: You are my hope, you are my part in the land of the living.
  8. Listen to my prayer, as if you have humbled yourself greatly: deliver me from those who persecute me, as if you have become stronger than me.

With my voice I called to the Lord, with my voice I prayed to the Lord. I poured out my supplication before Him; revealed my sorrow to him. When my spirit failed in me, You knew my path. On the path that I walked, they secretly set up nets for me. I look to the right side and see that no one recognizes me. There is no refuge for me, no one cares about my soul. I called to You, Lord, I said: You are my refuge and my part in the land of the living. Listen to my cry, for I am very weak: deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than me. (Psalm 141.)

The singing of the Octoechos, sequentially from tones 1 to 8, begins from the Week, that is, from the Sunday that follows the Week of All Saints, and continues through the 5th Week of Great Lent. The exception is the twelfth feasts of the Lord, both on the days of the week and on the Week (Sunday), when the whole service in progress according to the Menaion, as well as on the twelfth Feasts of the Theotokos and on the prefeasts of all the twelfth feasts, coinciding with the weeks, but not with Sundays (Week).

During the singing of "Lord, I have called" and the stichera, the deacon burns the altar, the entire church, and the worshipers. Having accepted the censer, the deacon puts incense into it with the blessing of the priest "We bring the censer to you ..." and performs a cruciform incense of the throne, then the high place, the altar and icons on the south, north and west sides, and also censes the brethren in the altar on the south and north sides . Then he enters the solea through the northern door and burns local icons, choirs, worshipers and the entire church, starting with the icons on the south side of the solea. The deacon finishes burning incense in front of the royal doors and local icons, enters the altar through the southern door, again burns the throne, the primate, and, having prayed on mountainous place, gives the censer to the sexton.

The censing of the entire temple reminds believers of the Old Testament evening sacrifices and incense burning, performed with faith and hope for the coming of the promised Savior.

The singing of evening verses: "Lord, I cry to Thee, hear me ..." (Psalms 140, 141, 129 and 116) expresses sorrow and spiritual suffering caused by committed sins, and at the same time, firm hope in God's mercy and humanity for His forgiveness.

Sacrament of Unction (Unction)

DIVINE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MYSTERY.

The Epistle of the Apostle James says: “Is anyone among you sick, let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him” (James 5:14-15).

Unction is performed over believing patients who are able to consciously receive it and participate in prayer for themselves.

There are almost no people who would not know what a disease is. But not everyone realizes that illness is a consequence of sin, which corrupts life. It is useless to treat the body if the soul is sick.

Even if experienced doctors are engaged in our treatment, God gives healing. The Lord is able to heal any person according to his faith, but to heal everything - both soul and body.

Unction exists in the Church for this, so that a person, starting to heal the body, does not forget about the soul and the cause of the disease - sin.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE UNION.

The Sacrament of Unction is preceded by confession and the Sacrament of Communion. It is necessary to consciously repent of your sins and have the determination to renounce them.

But not all moral causes of illnesses are clear to the patient; on the contrary, many of them are hidden from the judgment of his conscience. These sins, covered with the darkness of ignorance, darkening the soul of the sick person, are cleansed by the Sacrament of Unction.

Usually on a small table there is everything the priest needs to perform the sacrament. This table can be placed

A lit candle is held in the left hand. It is better to take a sufficient size. The cutout at the neck should not be deaf (anointing the upper chest) and you can cover it with a clean napkin so as not to drip clothes, and then burn this napkin with traces of oil or give it to church workers for burning. vegetable oil. This consecrated oil can later be anointed with prayer on sore spots, eaten. (previously consecrated oil cannot be used a second time in Unction).

Those approaching the Mystery of the Unction should remember the words of St. Ignatius (Bryanchaninov):

mercy, like bitter healing cures for the sick soul; they contribute to our salvation much more surely than miraculous healings.

HOW THE MYSTERY IS PERFORMED.

The visible side of the sacrament consists in the fact that the priest anoints the sick person with oil seven times crosswise: forehead, nostrils, cheeks, chest and hands on both sides.

At the same time, a prayer is read: “Holy Father, Physician of souls and bodies, sending Your Only Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who heals every ailment, and delivers from death, heal Your servants (names) from the bodily and spiritual weakness that obscures them, and revive the grace of your Christ."

The rite of unction begins with the singing of the troparions and the canon, explaining the power of the sacrament. Excerpts from the apostolic letters and the Gospel are read seven times, seven prayers. And it ends with a prayer of permissiveness from sins.

In those moments when the priest goes around the congregation and anoints them, they sing:

“My Lord, Lord, my joy, grant me, let us rejoice in Your mercy:

Hear me Lord, hear me Lord, hear me Holy One.

Have mercy on me, Lord, have mercy on me, Lord, have mercy on me, Holy One.

Heal me, Lord, heal me, Lord, heal me, Holy One.

Orthodox prayers

Our Father, Who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth. Give us our daily bread today; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of Truth, Who is everywhere and fills everything, Treasury of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Blessed, our souls.

Prayer to the Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Lord, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your name's sake.

Virgin Mother of God, rejoice, Blessed Mary, the Lord is with you; Blessed are You in women and blessed is the Fruit of Your womb, as if the Savior gave birth to our souls.

It is worthy to eat as truly blessed Thee, the Mother of God, the Blessed and Immaculate and Mother of our God. The most honest Cherubim and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, without the corruption of God the Word, who gave birth to the real Mother of God, we magnify Thee.

Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from His presence. Like smoke disappears, let them disappear, like wax melts from the face of fire, so demons will perish from the face of those who love God and sign the banner of the cross, and say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by the power of our crucified Lord Jesus Christ upon you, who descended into hell and corrected the power of the devil, and gave us His Honorable Cross to drive away every adversary. Oh, most honorable and life-giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Lady Virgin Mother of God and with all the saints forever and ever. Amen.

It expresses deep contrition for the sin committed and an earnest prayer for mercy.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Wash me most of all from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and my sin before me is taken out. I have sinned against you alone and done evil before you; as if you were justified in your words, and conquered when you judge Ty. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and in sins give birth to me, my mother. Behold, thou hast loved the truth; the unknown and secret wisdom of Thy revealed to me. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Give joy and joy to my hearing; the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation and confirm me with the Sovereign Spirit. I will teach the wicked in Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from the blood, O God, God of my salvation, my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will proclaim your praise. As if you would have desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. Sacrifice to God the spirit is broken; a contrite and humble heart God will not despise. Please, O Lord, with Thy favor Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, an offering and a burnt offering; then they will offer bullocks on your altar.

Prayer in a Dangerous Situation.

Alive in the help of the Most High, in the blood of the God of Heaven will settle. The Lord says: Thou art my intercessor and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. Yako Toy will deliver thee from the net of the hunter, and from the word of the rebellious. His splash will overshadow you, and under His wings you hope. His truth will be your weapon, do not be afraid of the fear of the night, from the arrow flying in the days, from the thing in the darkness of the transient, from the hell and the demon of the afternoon. A thousand will fall from your country, and darkness at your right hand, but it will not come close to you. Both look at your eyes, and see the retribution of sinners. As you, O Lord, are my hope, the Most High have laid down your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and the wound will not come near your body. As if by His Angel I commanded about you, keep you in all your ways. They will take you in their hands, but not when you stomp your foot on a stone. Step on the asp and the basilisk, and cross the lion and the serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver; I will cover and, as if I knew my name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him; I am with him in affliction, I will crush him, and I will glorify him; I will fulfill him with length of days, and I will show him my salvation.

4. Blessed are those who are hungry (strongly desiring to eat) and thirsting for righteousness (righteousness, holiness), for they will be satisfied.

5. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.

6. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be named (will be named). the sons of God.

8. Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

9. Blessed are you when they reproach you and persecute you and slander you in every way unrighteously for me. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.

I know, Lord, that I unworthily partake of Your most pure Body and Your precious Blood, and am guilty, and I eat and drink condemnation to myself, not realizing that this is Your Body and Blood, Christ and my God. But, hoping for Your mercy, I come to You, who said: “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood, he abides in Me, and I in him. “Have mercy, Lord, and do not rebuke me, a sinner, but deal with me according to Your mercy, and may this Shrine serve me for healing, purification, enlightenment, for the protection, salvation and sanctification of the soul and body, for driving away every dream and evil deeds and attacks of the devil, acting through thought in me, into boldness and love for You, into the correction of life and strengthening it, into the multiplication of virtue and perfection, into the fulfillment of the commandments, into communion with the Holy Spirit, into parting words into eternal life, into an auspicious an answer at Your terrible judgment, not in condemnation.

God! Let go, allow, forgive my sins that I have committed in word, deed, thought, voluntarily or involuntarily, consciously or unconsciously, and, as a merciful and philanthropic one, grant me forgiveness in everything. And through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother, Your intelligent servants and holy forces (angels) from the beginning of the world who pleased You, deign to accept Your holy and most pure Body and honest Blood without condemnation for the healing of soul and body and for the purification of my evil thoughts. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord God! I am not worthy that You should enter under the shelter of my soul, but since You, as a philanthropist, want to live in me, I boldly approach. You command me to open the doors created by You alone, and You would enter them with Your characteristic love of mankind. You enter and enlighten my darkened thoughts. I believe that You will do this, for You did not depart from the harlot who came to You with tears, You did not reject the publican who brought repentance, You did not drive away the robber who knew Your kingdom, and the persecutor who turned to You, did not leave what he was but all who turned to You through repentance, You placed in the midst of Your friends. You alone are blessed always, now and forever. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, my God! Let go, allow, cleanse and forgive me, Thy servant, sins, crimes, falls and everything that I have sinned from my youth to this day and hour - consciously or unconsciously, in words, deeds, intentions, thoughts, activities and in all my feelings. And through the prayers of bess e Menno (no husband). who gave birth to You, the Most Pure Ever-Virgin Mary, Your Mother, the only undoubted hope, intercessor and my salvation, vouchsafe me to partake without condemnation of the most pure, immortal, and life-giving, and terrible sacraments of Yours for the forgiveness of sins, for eternal life, for sanctification and enlightenment, strengthening, healing and health of soul and body, in the destruction and complete elimination of my impure thoughts, thoughts, enterprises and night dreams, gloomy and evil spirits. For Yours is the kingdom, power, honor and worship, together with the Father and Your Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Already I stand before the doors of Your temple, and impure thoughts do not depart from me. But You, Christ God, Who justified the publican, Who had mercy on the Canaanite woman, and Who opened (opened) the doors of Paradise to the thief, open for me the doors of Your philanthropy and accept me, who comes and touches You, as a harlot and bleeding. As soon as she touched the edge of Your garment, she immediately received healing; the other, grasping Your most pure feet, received the permission of her sins. But I am accursed, daring to accept Your whole body, but I will not be scorched (burned). But accept me as those two, and enlighten the feelings of my soul, burning sinful inclinations, through the prayers of the Immaculately Born You and through the prayers of the heavenly powers. For you are blessed forever and ever. Amen.

Son of God! Deign me to be a partaker of Your mystical Supper today. I will not reveal the mysteries to Your enemies, and I will not give You kisses, like Judas, but, like a thief, I confess You. Remember me, Lord, in Your Kingdom! May the communion of Your most pure Mysteries, O Lord, not be for condemnation, but for the healing of soul and body. Amen.

Lord Christ God, King of the ages and Creator of all! I thank You for all the blessings that You bestowed on me in receiving Your most pure and life-giving sacraments. I beg you, merciful and philanthropic, keep me under your shelter and in the shade of your wings and grant me until my last breath with with a clear conscience it is worthy to partake of Your holy things for the remission of sins and for eternal life. For You are the bread of life, the source of holiness, the giver of blessings, and we send glory to You together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ our God! May Thy holy body be unto me for everlasting life, and Thy precious blood for the remission of sins. May this (feast) of thanksgiving be to me in joy, in health and joy. In Your terrible second coming, grant me, a sinner, to stand on the right side of Your glory through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother and all the saints.

Most Holy Lady Theotokos, light of my darkened soul, hope, protection, refuge, consolation, my joy! I thank You for deigning me, the unworthy, to partake of the most pure Body and the precious Blood of Your Son. But, having given birth to the true light, enlighten the spiritual eyes of my heart! Producing the source of immortality, revive me, mortified by sin! As the merciful Mother of a merciful God, have mercy on me and grant tenderness and contrition to my heart, modesty and liberation from the captivity of my thoughts to my thoughts. Vouchsafe me until my last breath to accept uncondemned sanctification by the most pure sacraments for the healing of soul and body. And give me tears of repentance and confession to sing and glorify You all the days of my life; for you are blessed and glorified forever. Amen.

Now you release your servant, Lord, according to your word, in peace; for my eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all men, a light to bring light to the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel ( Onion. 2:29-32).

Not so wicked, not so: but they are like dust that the wind sweeps from the face of the earth! Therefore the wicked will not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. Because the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

I said: Lord! Have mercy on me, heal my soul, for I have sinned against You. My enemies said evil about me:“When he dies and his name perishes!” And if ( Who) came to see ( me), then he spoke lies, his heart contained iniquity. And going out, he conspired with the enemies: they whispered against me, they plotted evil against me. A criminal word was made up on me ( saying :). “Will the one who is lying rise again?” Even a person friendly to me, in whom I hoped, who ate my bread, raised his heel against me. You, Lord, have mercy on me, and strengthen me, and I will repay them. From this I know of Your good pleasure towards me, that my enemy will not triumph over me. And me, in my gentleness, You accepted and established me before You forever. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting!

Give joy and gladness to my ears, and the humble bones will rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and confirm me with the Sovereign Spirit. I will teach the transgressors Your ways, and the wicked will turn to You. Spare me from spills). blood, O God, God of my salvation! And my tongue will joyfully praise Your righteousness. God! Open my mouth and they will proclaim Your praise. If You wanted a sacrifice, I would give, ( But). You are not pleased with the burnt offering. Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise the contrite and humble heart.

Benefit, O Lord, according to Your good pleasure, Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then you will be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering, then they will offer calves on your altar.

Turn, Lord! How long? Have mercy on your servants. May we soon be satisfied with Thy mercy, O Lord, let us rejoice and rejoice, all our days, as a reward) for the days in which You humbled us, for the years in which we saw evil. And look at Your servants, at Your creatures, and instruct their sons. And may the light of the Lord our God be in us, help us in the work of our hands, help us in the work of our hands.

“Because he trusted in Me, I will deliver him, I will protect him, for he has known My name. I am with him in sorrow: he will call on me, and I will hear him; I will deliver him and glorify him; I will satisfy him with length of days and show him my salvation. “

The Lord shows mercy and truth to all the offended. He revealed His ways to Moses, the sons of Israel - desires (laws). Their. The Lord is generous and merciful, long-suffering and many-merciful. Not to the end will be angry and never be indignant. He dealt with us not according to our iniquities, nor did He repay us according to our sins. For as high is the heaven above the earth, so great is the mercy of the Lord to those who fear Him. How far is east from west so). He removed our iniquities from us. As a father has mercy on his sons, so the Lord has mercy on those who fear Him. For He knows our nature, remembers that we are dust. Man's days are like grass; like a wild flower, so it blooms. The wind will pass over him, and he is no more, and he will not find his place. The mercy of the Lord from age to age is on those who fear Him, and His righteousness is on the sons of sons, who keep His covenant and remember His commandments in order to fulfill them.

The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom possesses everything. Bless the Lord, all His angels, mighty in strength, who do His word, who hear His voice. Bless the Lord, all His armies, His servants, who do His will. Bless the Lord, all His works, in every place of His dominion. Bless the Lord, my soul!

Give the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love to me, Your servant ( bow).

Lord my King, let me see my transgressions and not condemn my brother, for You are blessed forever and ever. Amen ( bow).

As the Lord, Lord and benefactor, we glorify You, praise, sing and magnify and, bowing down, thank You again! We humbly pray to Your unspeakable mercy: just as You have now accepted our prayers and fulfilled them, so in the future, let us prosper in love for You, for our neighbors and in all virtues. And make us always give thanks and praise You, together with Your Father without beginning and Your all-holy, good, and consubstantial Spirit. Amen.

Prayer before the journey: Lord Jesus Christ, our God, the true and living way! You accompanied Your imaginary father Joseph and Your most pure Mother the Virgin Mary to Egypt, and also accompanied Luke and Cleopas to Emmaus! Now we humbly pray to You: Most Holy Master, accompany Your grace to us, Your servants. And, as your servant Tobias, send a guardian angel and mentor, preserving and delivering us from every accident, from visible and invisible enemies, and instructing us to fulfill Your commandments. For it is Your nature to have mercy and save us, and to You we lift up glory with Your Father without beginning and with Your most holy and good and life-giving Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

For the sake of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, through the prayers of His Most Pure Mother and all the saints, bring them to the quiet harbor of Your eternal Kingdom, so that they, together with all the righteous, always thank You with Your only begotten Son and Your life-giving Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for an end to the quarrel: Lord Jesus Christ, our God, who gave a new commandment to Your disciples, that they love one another! Accept this prayer for the remission of the sins of all of us, Thy servants. Renew the love that has dried up in us with Your Holy Spirit, so that, fulfilling Your commandments, we take care not of our earthly blessings, but of Your glory and the benefit of our neighbor. For You are our guide and savior, and we give glory to You with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer from evil thoughts: See the prayer to the Mother of God " Holy Lady(see above).

Prayer for Difficulties in Teaching: Lord our God, look upon thy servant ( Name). and send upon him the spirit of wisdom, reason and piety and enlighten him with the light of Your prudence, so that he will soon comprehend and assimilate the subjects he studies and use them for the good of Your Church, for the benefit of others and for his own salvation. Because You are the source of wisdom, and we always praise You, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

What should you pray for? In prayer, we must thank God for His great mercies to us unworthy ones: for the fact that He created us and this beautiful world, for constantly taking care of us and giving us everything we need for existence, for the fact that He once saved us from misfortune and directs our path to eternal blessed life for the sake of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In prayer, we should ask God to help us in daily labors and occupations in order to have everything necessary for life, to keep us and our family members healthy, to direct our activities for the good and, most importantly, to save our souls. The gospel says: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul, or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Prayer has great power, it connects the prayer with the almighty God. Therefore, we must pray attentively and reverently, remembering that we are talking with the Creator of heaven and earth, Whom Angels serve with trepidation. To do this, during prayer, it is necessary to concentrate so that our heart feels the truth of the spoken words. Such prayer “in spirit and in truth” is pleasing to God. Holy people who knew how to pray to God with concentration and deep faith, performed great miracles through prayer.

Except God, in prayer we call Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, and the saints of God. They are ours heavenly patrons and intercede for us before God.

Just as the body needs air, water, and many other things, so the soul needs prayer. In it, she joins the divine grace, is transformed, renewed and strengthened in virtue.

Sometimes it is difficult to achieve the necessary concentration. This is natural: our mind and senses are used to wandering back and forth. And prayer requires inner discipline, composure. Like all good things, the ability to pray is acquired through hard work and perseverance. Therefore, let us force ourselves to pray fervently so that prayer becomes an integral part of our lives. Then we will see from our own experience what great power it possesses and how much peace and spiritual joy it brings!

The sacrament of repentance has a powerful regenerating power. The Lord Himself promised the apostles and their successors: To whom you forgive sins, they will be forgiven, on whom you leave, they will remain on that ” (John 20:23). At the same time, it is assumed that a person repents sincerely, with pain in his soul, with a firm intention to fight temptations and live piously.

Preparing for confession, a person should remember his sins and pray to God to forgive him and help him correct himself. All sins are named at confession, without self-justification or concealment. The list of sins attached here can help a Christian prepare for confession.

Errors in words. He sinned with idle talk, unnecessary laughter and ridicule. He sinned by talking in the temple, using the name of God in vain and condemning his neighbors. He sinned with sharpness in words, quarrelsomeness, caustic remarks. He sinned by captiousness, insulting neighbors and bragging. Forgive and have mercy on me, Lord.

He sinned with indecent jokes, stories and sinful conversations. He sinned with grumbling, breaking his promises and lying. He sinned by using swear words, insulting neighbors and cursing. He sinned by spreading defamatory rumors, slander and denunciations.

Sins by deed. He sinned with laziness, wasting time and not attending services. He sinned with frequent lateness to services, careless and distracted prayer, and lack of spiritual fervor. He sinned by neglecting the needs of his family, neglecting the upbringing of his children, and neglecting his duties. Forgive and have mercy on me, Lord.

He sinned with gluttony, overeating and breaking fasts. He sinned with smoking, alcohol abuse and the use of stimulants. He sinned with excessive concern for his appearance, looking with lust, looking at obscene pictures and photographs. He sinned by listening to violent music, listening to sinful conversations and indecent stories. He sinned with seductive behavior, masturbation and fornication. He sinned with various sexual perversions and adultery. He sinned with love of money, passion for gambling and the desire to get rich. He sinned with passion for his career and success, self-interest and extravagance. He sinned by refusing to help those in need, by greed and avarice. He sinned with cruelty, callousness, dryness and lack of love. He sinned with deceit, theft and bribery. He sinned by visiting fortune-tellers, invoking evil spirits and performing superstitious customs. Forgive and have mercy on me, Lord.

STICHERES ON THE LORD CALLS
Lord, I call to You, hear me. / Hear me, Lord.
Lord, I cry to Thee, hear me: / hearken to the voice of my supplication, / call me to Thee every now and then. / Hear me, Lord.
May my prayer be corrected, / like a censer before You, / the uplifting of my hand / is an evening sacrifice. / Hear me, Lord.
Bring my soul out of prison, confess your name. (SUNDAY):
By Your Cross, Christ the Savior, / the power of death is destroyed, / and the charm of the devil is abolished, / the human race, saved by faith, / always brings you a song.
The righteous are waiting for me, until you repay me.
Every one is enlightened / by Thy Resurrection, O Lord, / and paradise is still opened, / all creation praising Thee, / always brings a song to Thee.
From the depths I called to Thee, Lord, Lord, hear my voice.
I glorify the Father and the Son, the power, / and I sing the power of the Holy Spirit, / the indivisible, uncreated Divinity, / the Trinity of the same essence, / reigning forever and ever.
May Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
We worship Your honorable Cross, O Christ, / and we sing and glorify Your Resurrection. / By Your wound, we are all healed.

(TO THE NEW MARTYRS AND CONFESSIONERS OF RUSSIA):
If you see iniquity, Lord, Lord, who will stand; / like you have cleansing.
Rejoice, New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, Orthodox fertilizer, New Sacrifice lambs, champions and guardians of faith, intercessors for us to God without shame, in the years of the last suffering imitators appear as the first martyr, patience, pillars of steadfastness, ask our souls great mercy.
For Thy name's sake, suffer Thee, O Lord;
Rejoice, passion-bearers of glory, in the footsteps of the subsequent ancient martyrs, for the sake of faith, strive firmly in the fierce times of our land, and now you are moving everyone to the glory and praise of God, who strengthened your weak nature and enriched you with the gifts of the Spirit, for the salvation of our souls.
From the morning watch until night, from the morning watch, / let Israel hope in the Lord.
Come, heavenly intercession, to us, your hopeful gracious visit, and deliver the embittered tormenting ban and the fierce fury of the infidels, from them, like captives and Nazis, we persecute Esma, from place to place often transiently and misleadingly in caves and mountains. Have mercy on us, praisers, and grant us weakness, quench the storm and quench our resentment, praying to God, giving you great mercy to our Earth.
For the Lord has mercy, and He has much deliverance, and He will deliver Israel from all his iniquities.
Holy Hierarch Father Tikhon, the long-suffering archpastor, in the time of fierce godless persecution, you are a faithful child of the Church of Russia, consoling, calling on you for Christ and the Orthodox faith to stand courageously, while dying all the days for your flock, the unshakable confessor appeared. For this sake we glorify with love.
Praise the Lord, all nations; praise Him, all people.
To the true shepherd, Holy Martyr Vladimir, when lawlessness compelled the Russian Church to retreat, you remained faithful in deed and word to St. Tikhon and, like a sacred sacrifice, from Kiev, the mother of Russian cities, you came to God, praying for those who kill you. For this sake we diligently glorify.
For His mercy is established upon us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever.
Hieromartyr Benjamin, the true son of the Church of Christ and Her well-being, zealous zealot, against the false shepherds who are trying to plunder your flock, you became courageous and, not being afraid of the ban and false witness of the tormentors, you turned judgment on the head of those who judged you, even with your death you confirmed Orthodoxy. For this sake, we diligently please.
(TO THE NEW MARTYRS):
The Almighty Lord, glorified and worshiped in the Trinity, we are generous with the favorable prayers of Your new martyrs, before the tormentors boldly confessing Thee, the One true God, and Yours, the Son of God, the saving incarnation from the Mother of the Virgin.
Why do we not marvel at Your God-manly Nativity, Blessed One? / For you did not accept the temptation of a man, O All-blameless One, / you gave birth without the Father to the Son in the flesh. / Before the age of the Father, born without a mother, / not undergoing any change, / or mixing, or separation, / but both being / the property of the whole preserved. / The same, Mother of the Virgin Lady, / Pray that souls be saved, / Orthodox Mother of God confessing Thee.

PARMIES OF THE NEW MARTYRS
Acts of the Holy Apostles, ch.4:5-21 (translating to Russian language)
In those days their chiefs, and the elders, and the scribes, and Anna the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and the rest of the lineage of the high priest, were assembled in Jerusalem; and putting them in the middle, they asked: By what power or by what name did you do this? Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: Leaders of the people and elders of Israel! If today we are asked to answer in kindness to a weak man, how he is healed, then let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, he was placed before you healthy. He is the stone that is neglected by you builders, but has become the head of the corner, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and noticing that they were unlearned and simple people, they marveled, meanwhile recognizing them that they were with Jesus; but seeing the healed man standing with them, they could not say anything contrary. And, having commanded them to leave the Sanhedrin, they argued among themselves, saying, What shall we do with these people? For all who dwell in Jerusalem know that they have done a manifest miracle, and we cannot deny it; but in order that this no longer be divulged among the people, we will forbid them with a threat that they should not speak of this name to any of the people. And calling them, they commanded them not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, Judge whether it is right before God to listen to you more than to God? We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard. And they, having threatened, let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; because everyone praised God for what had happened. For more than forty years was the man on whom this miracle of healing took place. When they were released, they went to their own people and recounted what the chief priests and elders had said to them. And having heard it, they unanimously raised their voice to God and said: Lord God, who created the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them! You, through the mouth of our father David, Your servant, said in the Holy Spirit: Why do the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth arose, and the princes gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ. For Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the pagans and the people of Israel, have truly assembled in this city against Thy Holy Son Jesus, anointed by Thee, to do that which Thy hand and Thy counsel have ordained to be. And now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to Your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, while You extend Your hand to heal and to do signs and wonders in the name of Your Holy Son Jesus. And, at their prayer, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

The Second Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to Timothy, ch.4:1-8
My son Timothy, I conjure you before God and our Lord Jesus Christ, Who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom: preach the word; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their whims they will choose for themselves teachers who will flatter their ears; and turn their ears away from the truth and turn to fables. But you be vigilant in everything, endure sorrows, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already becoming a victim, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought a good fight, I have completed my course, I have kept the faith; and now a crown of righteousness is being prepared for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who love His appearing.

The Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Jews, ch.11:33-40
Brethren, all the saints by faith conquered kingdoms, did justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, avoided the edge of the sword, were strengthened from weakness, were strong in war, drove away the armies of strangers; wives received their dead resurrected; others were martyred, not accepting liberation, in order to receive a better resurrection; others experienced reproach and beatings, as well as bonds and prison, were stoned, sawn through, tortured, died by the sword, wandered in robes and goat skins, suffering shortcomings, sorrows, embitters; those whom the whole world was not worthy wandered through deserts and mountains, through caves and ravines of the earth. And all these, testified in faith, did not receive what was promised, because God provided something better for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.

SILENT LIGHT (EVENING SONG TO THE SON OF GOD)
Quiet light of the holy glory, / Immortal, Heavenly Father, / Blessed Holy One, Jesus Christ. / Having come to the setting of the sun, / having seen the evening light, / we sing of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, God. / Thou art worthy at all times / do not be the voices of the reverend, / Son of God, give life, / the same world glorifies You.

GOOD LORD
Vouchsafe, O Lord, this evening without sin, be preserved for us. Blessed are you, O Lord, God of our fathers, and praised and glorified is your name forever. Amen.
Wake, Lord, Thy mercy on us, as if we were relying on Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy justification. Blessed art Thou, Lord, enlighten me with Thy justification. Blessed art Thou, Holy One, enlighten me with Thy justifications.
Lord, Thy mercy is forever; do not despise the works of Thy hand. Praise is due to You, Singing is due to You, Glory is due to You, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

STICHERES ON LITHIUM(TO THE NEW MARTYRS):
Esma's despair for the sake of life and not the imam of morality is virtuous, like peace, we bring Thee, Lord, the prayers of our holy relatives. Do not reject Holy Rus' of old, now suffering for the sake of our sins. Do not despise the tears of faithful sons, who did not bow their knees before Baal, and even they did not strike the sinners. Receive us, penitents, O God, Thy saints with supplications.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Come, martyr-lovers, come, let us make up a face, triumphantly and glorify God on the joyful feast of the new martyrs and confessors of Russia, for this we do not evade sorrow, nor fear the dungeon, bitter work, smoothness and coldness of exhaustion and many kinds of torments, we kill, like lambs of malice, death has come. And now, in the joy of the saints, they pray to the Triune God for their earthly homeland.
And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen. (BOGORODICHEN SUNDAY):
Brideless Virgin, / even God indescribably conceived of the flesh, / Mother of God the Most High, / accept your servants’ prayers, All-blameless, / giving cleansing of sins to everyone, / now accepting our prayers, / pray to us all to be saved.

SUNDAY STIKHOVNE:

TROPARI FOR THE IMMACULATE, TONE 5

Surprised at the Angelic Cathedral, / in vain you were imputed to the dead, / the mortal, Savior, ruined the fortress, / and raised Adam with Himself, / and all was freed from hell.
Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy justification.
Why do you dissolve the world with merciful tears, / O students? / Shine in the tomb Angel of the myrrh-bearing things: / you see the tomb and understand, / He has risen from the tomb.
Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy justification.
It’s too early for the myrrh-bearing women to flow / weeping at your tomb, / but an angel appeared to them and said: / weeping is the time of rest, do not cry, / the resurrection of the apostle is crying.
Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy justification.
The myrrh-bearing women from the world came / to Your tomb, Savior, weeping, / An angel spoke to them, saying: / what do you think with the living dead? / As God is risen from the tomb.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Let us worship the Father / and His Sons, and the Holy Spirit, / Holy Trinity in a single being, / from the Seraphim calling: / Holy, Holy, Holy are you, Lord.
And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.
Having given birth to life, / sin, Virgin, Adam delivered thou, / joy to Eve / gave place in sorrow, / fallen from life / direct to this / from You incarnated God and Man.

GOSPEL READING
MARK 16:9-20(translating to Russian language)
In those days, rising early on the first day of the week, Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he cast out seven demons. She went and told those who were with Him, weeping and weeping; but when they heard that he was alive and she saw him, they did not believe.
After this, he appeared in a different form to two of them on the road as they were going to the village. And they returned and announced to the rest; but they were not believed.
Finally, he appeared to the eleven themselves, who were reclining at the supper, and reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, that they did not believe those who saw Him risen. And said to them: go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take snakes; and if they drink something deadly, it will not harm them; lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
And so the Lord, after talking with them, ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went and preached everywhere, with the Lord's assistance and reinforcement of the word with subsequent signs. Amen.

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST SEEING:
Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the Holy Lord Jesus, the only sinless one. We worship Thy Cross, O Christ, and we sing and glorify Thy holy Resurrection. Thou art our God, do we know nothing else for Thee, We call Thy name. Come, all faithful, let us bow down to the holy Resurrection of Christ; Behold, the joy of the whole world has come by the Cross; Always bless the Lord, let us sing of His Resurrection, having endured the crucifixion, destroy death by death.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Through the prayers of the apostles, Merciful One, cleanse the multitude of our sins.
And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.
Through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Merciful One, cleanse the multitude of our sins.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy mercies, cleanse my iniquity.
Jesus resurrected from the tomb, as if prophesying, give us eternal life and great mercy.

LITURGY
Cathedral of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia

1st antiphon:
Bless the Lord, O my soul, Blessed art Thou, O Lord. Bless, my soul, the Lord, and all my inner being, His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all His rewards. Who cleanses all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Who redeems your belly from destruction, who crowns you with mercy and bounties. Whoever fulfills your desire in good things: your youth will be renewed like an eagle. The Lord is generous and merciful, long-suffering and many-merciful. Bless, O my soul, the Lord, and all my inward things, His holy name. Blessed are you, Lord.

2nd antiphon:
Praise, my soul, the Lord. I will praise the Lord in my stomach; I will sing to my God while I am. Do not rely on princes, on the sons of men, in them there is no salvation. His spirit will go out and return to his own land: in that day all his thoughts will perish. Blessed is the God of Jacob his helper, his hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps the truth forever, who executes judgment on the offended, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord will decide the fettered; The Lord makes the blind wise; The Lord raises up the downtrodden; The Lord loves the righteous; The Lord guards the aliens, he will accept a sire and a widow, and he will destroy the path of sinners. The Lord will reign forever. Your God, Zion, to generation and generation.

APOSTOLIC AND GOSPEL READINGS

The Second Epistle to the Corinthians of the Holy Apostle Paul, ch.6:16-7:1
Brethren, you are the temple of the living God, as God said: I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore, go out from among them and separate yourself, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean; and I will receive you. And I will be your Father, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. So, beloved, having such promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Epistle to the Romans of the Holy Apostle Paul, ch.8:28-39 (To the New Martyrs of Russia):
Brothers, we know that loving God called according to His will, everything works together for good. For whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. And whom He predestined, them He also called, and whom He called, them He also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What to say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not with him give us everything? Who will blame the elect of God? God justifies them. Who condemns? Christ Jesus died, but also rose again: He is also at the right hand of God, He also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of God: tribulation, or oppression, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or a sword? as it is written: For your sake they kill us every day, they consider us to be sheep condemned to the slaughter. But we overcome all this by the power of Him Who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts

This liturgy is so named because for the communion of believers it is used presanctified and drunk on the blood of Christ Lamb. This Lamb is usually consecrated at the preceding liturgy of Basil the Great or John Chrysostom.

This Liturgy is celebrated on Wednesdays and Fridays of Great Lent and on the first three days of Passion Week.

The establishment of this liturgy dates back to the first centuries of Christianity, but in the form in which it has come down to our time, it was written down in writing by St. .

Vespers at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts - until the small entrance is performed according to the usual rite.

After singing the anthem Light quiet a reader in the middle of the church reads two proverbs: one from the book of Genesis, which tells about the creation of the world, the fall of Adam and Eve and its unfortunate consequences, the other from the Proverbs of Solomon.

After the first paraemia, the priest standing before the altar appears at the royal gates, holding in his hands a censer and a candle standing in front of the Holy Gifts, overshadows the people in the form of a cross and proclaims:

Wisdom! Sorry!

The light of Christ enlightens all!

With these words, the priest points to that Divine Light, which in the Old Testament, before the coming of Jesus Christ to earth, enlightened, in the midst of the pagan darkness of ignorance of God, the Old Testament forefathers and prophets.

With this blessing, those who are coming bow to the ground, thereby expressing their reverence for the Eternal Light, which enlightens all the ends of the earth.

After the second paraemia, three singers separate from the choir and, standing before the royal doors, sing the following verses from the 140th Psalm of David:

May my prayer be corrected, like a censer before You, the uplifting of my hand, the evening sacrifice.

Translation: Let my prayer go like incense before you, the uplifting of my hands like an evening sacrifice.

Lord, I cry to Thee, hear me: hearken to the voice of my supplication, always cry out to Thee.

Translation: God! I call to you: hasten to me; Heed the voice of my supplication when I call to Thee.

Set, O Lord, a guardianship with my mouth, and a gate of protection against my mouth.

Translation: Set, O Lord, a guard over my mouth, and guard the door of my mouth.

Do not turn my heart into words of deceit, do not forgive the guilt of sins.

Translation: Do not let my heart deviate to evil words to excuse sinful deeds.

Everywhere- When.
Nepshchevati- to think, invent, count.
Guilt- apology, justification.

The Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts itself begins with litanies for the catechumens. After the litanies, the royal doors open and instead of the Cherubic Hymn, the choir sings:

Now the powers of heaven serve with us invisibly: behold, the King of glory enters, behold, the secret sacrifice is made and offered. Let us approach with faith and love, and let us be partakers of eternal life. Alleluia.

During the singing of this song, the Holy Gifts are transferred from the altar to the throne, and all those present bow down to the ground, paying due respect to the Body and Blood of Christ. During this transfer of the Holy Gifts, there is no commemoration of the members of the Church, since it was done at the Liturgy when the Holy Gifts were consecrated. At the great entrance follows the preparation of the faithful for communion, communion itself, thanksgiving for communion and the end of the liturgy, in the order of the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.

Lord, our God, punishing and healing again; who lifts up the poor from the earth, and raises the poor out of the mud; The father of orphans, and the wharf of those carried by the storm, and the sick doctor; bearing our infirmities without difficulty, and taking our sicknesses upon Himself; joyfully merciful, covering our iniquities and destroying unrighteousness; quick to help and slow to anger; who breathed on His disciples and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit: if you forgive anyone, their sins will be forgiven them”; accepting the repentance of sinners and having the power to forgive many and grave sins, and giving healing to all who are in weakness and a long illness! You and me, an insignificant, and a sinful, and unworthy servant of Yours, entangled in many sins and mired in passionate pleasures, calling me to the holy and the highest degree of priesthood, and deigning to enter inside, behind the veil, into the Holy of Holies, where the holy angels desire to penetrate with their eyes, and gave to hear the gospel voice of the Lord God, and with his own eyes to see the image of the holy exaltation, and enjoy the divine and sacred Liturgy; who has honored me to serve Your Sacraments, which are above heaven, and to offer You gifts and sacrifices for our sins and for the sins of ignorance of the people, and to be an intermediary for Your reasonable sheep, so that You, according to Your many and inexpressible love of mankind, will blot out their sins! Himself, most good King, hear my prayer at this hour and holy day, and at any time and in any place; and heed the voice of my prayer, and to Your servant [or Your servant] (name), in the weakness of the soul and body abiding [or: abiding], grant healing, giving him [or: her] remission of sins and forgiveness of sins, both voluntary and and involuntary; heal him [or: her] incurable wounds, every disease and every infirmity. Grant him [or: her] spiritual healing: after all, You touched Peter's mother-in-law, and the fever left her, and she got up and served You. Himself, Lord, and to Your servant [or Your servant] (name), give healing and deliverance from every fatal disease, and remember the wealth of Your compassion and Your mercy. Remember that a person’s mind has been zealously attached to vice from his youth, and not a single sinless person can be found on earth: for you alone remain unparticipated in sin, who came and saved the human race, and freed us from slavery to the enemy. After all, if You enter into judgment with Your servants, there will be no one clean from filth, but all mouths will be closed, having nothing to say in their defense, for like the rags of an unclean woman, all our righteousness is before You. Therefore, remember not the sins of our youth, Lord.

For You are the hope of those who despair, and the repose of those who labor and are burdened with iniquity, and we send glory to You with Your Father without beginning, and Your all-holy, and good, and life-giving Spirit, now and always, and forever and ever. Amen.
