A new educational project called "Silver University" is opening for pensioners from Wednesday in Moscow, according to the official website of the mayor of the capital.

Five faculties will be created at the Silver University: Humanities, mass communications and informatics, culture and creativity, health and safety or psychological support of the individual. The duration of general education programs will be from 24 to 36 hours. Training sessions will be held at least twice a week for two academic hours. In total, up to 160 hours are allotted for training in working specialties. In addition to theoretical and practical classes, pensioners will also be able to attend trainings and master classes of specialists in various fields. The university will also organize festivals, creative evenings and evenings of rest.

“Classes will be held both directly in social service centers at the place of residence, and in branches of the Moscow State Pedagogical University. Due to the number of places in groups is limited, candidates for training are included in the list of those awaiting subsequent recruitment, the department added, noting that the implementation of the educational project for the elderly will continue in 2018.
