The site should preferably be as level as possible. We attach the bracket, circle the mounting holes with any writing instrument, such as a marker. Further successful antenna tuning will depend on your accuracy. We drill holes (in our version it is a brick). The diameter of the drill should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the dowels. For brick, it is best to use a drill with carbide tips, I had it on hand, but of a smaller diameter than needed. But it doesn’t matter, I drill holes with this drill, and I drill them to the required diameter with ordinary high-speed steel. Next, we carefully hammer in the dowels and fasten the bracket, adjusting it during installation so that our fastening is as even as possible. The cable with the converter can be fixed immediately or done later. Slightly tighten the nuts on the fasteners, adjust the angle of the mirror so that it is almost vertical.

Half the battle, so to speak, we have done, the antenna is fixed in the position to the south. But in order to receive a signal from a satellite, we need to navigate to it very accurately. Every millimeter matters. On the Internet there are a lot of ways to do this, there are special ones. programs for calculation and positioning on the map. I'll tell you about mine, in my opinion not the most difficult. I really liked the program for Android smartphones (it's free and can be easily downloaded from the Play Store) called SatFinder. We launch the program, select our satellite ABS 2 - 75 E. For accurate positioning, the smartphone must first be connected to GPS, GLONASS satellites (global positioning systems, not to be confused with TV satellites).


As you can see from the screenshots, the program can show the direction in 2 ways: google maps and right in the sky, due to the built-in camera. Also, the program immediately calculates elevation angles and azimuth. We direct the plate in the direction we need. But again, such guidance is very approximate and far from ideal, most likely you will not receive a signal, although sometimes you are lucky.
