Yegor Zaitsev does not give interviews! - my fellow journalists frightened me. And after the show, which impressed me so much, I really wanted to talk to its creator! And I decided to take a chance. As it turned out, it was not in vain. Yegor Zaitsev turned out to be not only an interesting designer, but also a charming conversationalist. He openly and sincerely talks about fashion and style, about armor and defenselessness, about falling in love and love ...

- Egor, in your LZhP collection you used the same motives - the image of a prickly woman - as in the last one. What is the reason for this?

These images live in me. For me, the initial schedule: every evening I draw something. The images that come to me, I try to embody in clothes. The last season was for me the beginning of a certain cycle, a certain style was born, passing from one season to another. The collection logically flows from the previous one, although from the point of view of technology, many points have been eased: this time cotton and linen were used.

- How was the idea of creating the Insect Woman, the owner of thorns and tentacles, born?

The last year was difficult for me, many emotional experiences are reflected in the collection. Illusions about my need for someone collapsed. Unfortunately for some I am a tramp and a vagabond. If I don't work, I won't have collections, which means I won't be in this world either.

It seems to me that I am like a small fly, living only in the light. The slightest mistake - and it becomes a spider's supper. Around me, too, are full of hungry spiders ... When I restrained myself, it turned out not so interesting work... The artist must be sincere, but not fully comprehensible to the viewer.

- Do you embody your fantasies or fears in your work?

For me, they are the same thing. All my fantasies are born of fears. Probably, I still haven't figured it out.

- Did you have nightmares as a child?

And how! Sometimes it seems to me that my whole life is a continuous children's nightmare, smoothly turning into senile insanity ...

- As a rule, the designer's work shows how he treats a woman. What is your heroine today?

The girls who go to the podium in my clothes are delicate flowers hidden in all these thorns and tentacles. For the sake of preserving the soul of a modern young woman, I try to remove her from the surrounding world, with all its filth, vulgarity and debauchery. Clothing acts as a bodyguard.

- Yegor, could you, like the Little Prince, take care of your prickly Rose? ..

That's all I do! I feel myself in a huge responsibility for those whom I have tamed.

- Are you a vulnerable person?

Yes, not the word. I am a real battleship. Without armor, it would be very difficult for me. The latest events in my life once again convinced me of this. Because of my relaxation, I missed a blow, and from the closest people. But the blow is struck by those to whom I cannot fight back ...

- Do you think that clothes from the LZHP collection will be worn?

Honestly, I don't care if they wear it. I am a person with abstract thinking. This is just how I see the world today. In addition, any new thing the first few seasons are perceived with hostility, and then these same things can become trends and the whole world will be equal to them. But judging by the reviews of my friends and girlfriends, many things could still be worn today.

- Can you imagine a girl who comes to the office in the morning in an extravagant outfit from Yegor Zaitsev? ..

Well, everything has its place and time. Office women cannot afford a lot. There are many labels on them, almost the same as on female models. It is believed that they should sleep with their superiors, indulge him in every possible way. My current collection was created in defense of the profession of a model. It seems it's time to protect office women too. If I fell in love with a girl working in an office, I would definitely come to her work and explain to everyone what's what. I think that a woman in subjection is always a bondage associated with sexual harassment. After all, you can't get away from the basic instinct.

- Do you like women who are subordinate?

I am very offended if I break off and shout at the girls working in my agency. They are beginning to be afraid of me! If I see fear in their eyes, I have clearly overdone it. Immediately I imagine my daughter or myself, small and weak, in her place. So I try to avoid such situations.

- Is it important for you as a man what a woman is wearing?

In the first stage, perhaps yes. But the sexuality and attractiveness of a woman lies, of course, not in the clothes and not even always in the look. It can be a bending of a figure or something else. If there is a special connection, a state of being in love, then the external is indifferent. When I see very well-dressed women, cold or, conversely, too active, nothing arises in my soul. Clothing is secondary. If a person has emptiness inside, no clothes can hide it.

- Tell us about some of your bright love interests ...

At one time a young gypsy woman was sitting near the Fashion House. I once gave her money. After that, she often asked our models about me. She asked me to ride her on a motorcycle. Our girls said that somehow, while waiting for me, she took off her kerchief and began to comb her hair. Something in this story touched me, some inexplicable feeling woke up in me. This girl was very sympathetic to me spiritually ...

- What is your relationship with fashion?

From my point of view, the fashion industry is a drug for the crowd, practiced all over the world. I'm not interested in fashion as a way to spend money, but as an art and an opportunity for self-expression. But I don't take it too seriously. I am not close to designers who create purely commercial collections.

- What do you like to wear yourself?

Since I am a representative of a well-known designer family, naturally, I was not always free in my choice. There was a period when my father wanted me to dress in classic style... I even had one suit, but I was suffocating in it. I never follow any trends, maybe because I know all this very well. I do not like ready-made things, I constantly redo everything, I wear many things for years. The main thing is that the clothes match my inner state.

- How do you develop a creative relationship with your dad - Vyacheslav Zaitsev? Isn't it difficult to work in one creative space?

Recently, my dad said in an interview that I did not follow in his footsteps: he works for a specific person, and I - for the sake of an idea. And I totally agree with that. I work only for myself, and if someone responds, it means that life has not been lived in vain.

- If the process of self-expression is so important for you, why didn't you become, for example, an artist?

Aggression has practically disappeared from his work, and now he has moved from producing extravagant and conceptual outfits to more calm and feminine ones. The designer is sure that today the child is the center of the universe for him.

I became terribly nervous: it literally seemed to me that someone was trying to push Katya, not to give her a place. In general, in my desire to protect my wife, I irritated her much more potential "offenders." I myself am a non-conflict person, in relation to myself I can endure quite a few things, keep silent, step aside, but when it comes to my wife and children ... it will not seem a little to anyone. At the same time, a kind of universal kindness suddenly appeared in my heart. I was so impressed by the upcoming changes in my life.

Has your attitude towards Katya changed?

Before I was ready to get the moon from the sky for her, but while waiting for the child, her slightest desires, even bordering on whims, fulfilled not only immediately, but also with pleasure.

What was the most difficult moment of having a baby for both of you?

Probably, the first night with Nastya turned out to be a serious test for us. It's just that Katya had read many useful magazines and books about motherhood throughout her pregnancy, so I was sure that she had already "studied in detail" everything about children. However, as it turned out, only pregnancy was described in detail in the books for expectant mothers, in stages, and both my wife and I were completely confused when the newborn began to scream desperately. It took a full hour before we realized that she might be hungry and tried to feed her. So I strongly advise all future parents to read in advance. useful tips how to handle a baby.

How old are you looking forward to Nastya?

The child touches me every day, so I am in no hurry to think and dream about what kind of daughter will be tomorrow. So far it seems to me that it is growing and developing by leaps and bounds.

This is a sore subject for me. Of course, there are situations when Nastya begins to stand on her head, and she needs to be brought to her senses, but as soon as I raise my voice to her, tears, panic, and horror appear in her eyes. At such moments I curse myself for the fact that with my "manly rudeness" I so upset a tender baby. True, Nastya reacts to Katina's remarks in a completely different way - quite adequately. My wife thinks that my daughter is already making ropes out of me. Katya always tries to hold me back when Nastya starts crying, and I rush to console her, although before that I made her a remark about the case. But so far I can’t stand these scenes at all. Intellectually I understand that I ought to let my daughter cry so that she doesn't do this anymore, but with my heart ... no, let it be better to twist ropes out of me.

Can you afford to fulfill any of your daughter's whims? When Nastya comes to the store with you, do you pamper her or do you show firmness in fulfilling her whims?

Nastya does not pay special attention for toys of impressive size. For example, we came to the store with her, and I offered her to buy a bicycle, and my daughter replied: “Come on, let's better buy a stuffed toy ...”. But, if you ignore the purchase of some very coveted little thing, in this case Nastya can arrange a scene right in the store.

And what do you do in such cases?

I buy everything at once, but Katya is firm. She first moves away from the child and pretends that she does not notice any hysteria. When such scenes take place at home, the wife goes to another room and tells Nastya that she does not understand anything from her screams. That she will be ready to discuss the problem with her daughter and look for an optimal solution only after Nastya calms down. True, if earlier this strategy worked properly, now Nastya is following Katya and crying. But I, of course, cannot bear all this. Therefore, I immediately fulfill all her desires, without waiting for the development of a scandal.

Does Nastya have nanny ?

No. Katya and I decided that we could cope on our own, since Katya's parents help us a lot: if we have an emergency at work, we leave Nastya with them.

However, both you and Katya are working. How do you manage to combine work and raising a child?

My wife and I substitute for each other, plus very often we take the child with us to work. She even calls the fashion house “black work”, as black furniture prevails there, and the apartment is “green work”. The child grows up with the feeling that work is everywhere, and it never ends - after all, mom works at home with a laptop, and dad can draw here. I don’t think this is bad. Our employees are already joking that Nastya spends so much time in the office that it is time to register her on the staff.

Hence, in Kindergarten you do not plan to give it away?

You know, I think the way a daughter directly and freely expresses her feelings is largely the result of the absence of a kindergarten in her life. Nobody tells her how to behave. Does not squeeze her personality into a rigid framework, does not slow down. Perhaps we will send to kindergarten only in Last year before school, and even then I'm not sure that my child must go through this stage. If Nastya likes it in the garden, she looks like it, and if not, we take it and continue to develop it on our own.

What circles do you want to give it to?

I would like her to be fluent in at least one foreign language, but rather several. Probably, we'll send her to the dance - it's very good for a girl. It would be nice if she did music, swimming, maybe even some kind of martial arts. While I myself am trying to teach her how to play the guitar.

But what about drawing?

I also prefer to draw with her myself. I would like drawing not to be some kind of hobby for her - so that it becomes an integral part of her life. I grew up with this feeling too. My parents lived in a communal apartment and, as far as I can remember, there were their sketches around, there were cans of paint everywhere, they drew a lot themselves and they gave me a piece of paper and paints.

Now I suggest my daughter to try to draw in different techniques: watercolor, gouache, pencil, crayons. She really likes it. She has fantastic color combinations. And this is not only my, my father's, opinion: I recently showed these works to my mother, a famous artist, and she and a friend, an artist, discussed symbolism in Nastya's works for an hour. I listened with interest to their reasoning.

Of course, I try to push my daughter to drawing, but I do it quite subtly and delicately. I suggest what and how to draw only when I see that she does not know where to go next.

Do you take Nastya to museums and art exhibitions?

Our job is big museum... We sometimes take Nastya to fashion shows. Recently, before the show, where Katya appeared on the catwalk as a model, we were sitting with Nastya in the 1st row, I turned away for a while and ... found that “the charming Anastasia Zaitseva was parading around the catwalk in her mother’s shoes,” as the journalists to whom she later wrote posed almost professionally - smile, hands on the waist ...

How do you compose your little fashionista's wardrobe?

It looks very peculiar. I like to buy her half-boy things: camouflage pants, funny T-shirts, and my mother dresses up Nastya like a little princess - in beautiful airy dresses. And in that, and in another way, the daughter feels quite organic. She instantly transforms from a little robber into a little princess.

What toys does Nastya especially like?

She loves soft toys, and she is sure to make families of them. Also, my daughter really likes the toys-heroes from the cartoons that she watches.

What do you like to do with your child?

I love to walk with her: we feed the pigeons, study different flower leaves, talk a lot. I treasure these moments so much that often after such walks I sketch out many sketches at once, which I could have spent hours pondering at the table for hours. And now I create my collections mentally while walking with my child, and at home I just fix my ideas. It's just that now I clearly understood that my daughter is most important to me. I can push the work to the background, and Nastya grows up so quickly - her first steps, words, new emotions will never be repeated or seen if I miss them now.

How do you approach the issues of organizing meals for the child?

With this, everything is very difficult for us so far. Only Katya calms me down, who says that she ate very badly as a child, but she remembers for sure that she did not feel any discomfort from this. Nastya loves a fairly limited range of products. Getting her to try something new is extremely difficult, almost impossible. Favorite dish daughters - pasta. We have dozens of them different types... Nastya also eats vegetables and fruits quite well, but she categorically refuses soup - the amount of mixed ingredients seems to her indecently large. She prefers an almost mono-diet. True, such a natural craving for healthy food somewhat diluted with the peculiarities of our food in the office - here we can allow her both fries and sweets. But, of course, no one feeds her by force.

Are you doing Nastya's hardening?

I really love the coolness, and at first Katyusha was very nervous if I opened the windows in the cold season. Gradually, we found a reasonable compromise - it's not cold at home, but it's still cool, and Nastya treats the fresh air just like I do. She doesn't like being warmly dressed or stuffy at home. It is especially pleasing that the child practically does not get sick.

How do you spend your summer with Nastya? Do you travel abroad with her?

So far, we go with the baby only to the Crimea for a few weeks, every summer. For me it best rest- the sun, the sea, no civilization, the Internet. And for a child of 2-3 years old, it is better to splash in the sea and play in the sand than to walk around the Louvre with adults. When parents proudly tell that their baby has already seen the Mona Lisa at the age of 3, I always think that they are deceiving themselves, believing that the child has memorized something. Here in next year When my daughter is 4 years old, we will probably try to go abroad for the first time, but again to the sea, and not for excursions to museums. So far, overloading the child is completely useless, in my opinion.

Do you have any disagreements with grandparents about raising a child?

My parents are busy people, so they can't spend a lot of time with Nastya, but Katya's parents often come to sit with their granddaughter, and give her much more freedom than my wife and I. I would not call it a disagreement - it's just that grandmothers always pamper their grandchildren. This is fine. You just need to understand that after returning home from the grandmother, the child needs some time to adapt to the parental rules of behavior.

Do Nastya and your eldest daughter Maroussia?

Of course, they often see each other at work, or grandfather invites us all together to visit him. Maroussia is very fond of Nastya, but so far, due to the big age difference, no a large number some common topics or joint activities. Fashion is more mobile. There is adrenaline here, all the time you need to be on the wave, in the know. If you stop modeling clothes, you can fall behind fashion. It's like in big sports, you need to keep yourself in good shape all the time. And such a race starts.

Remembering him, we mean a whole fashionable era that originated in the Soviet space. The biography of Vyacheslav Zaitsev began on March 2, 1938 in the city of brides Ivanovo. The boy's childhood, who grew up in a family of workers during the war years, was difficult, as, indeed, for all children of that time. Mom put the boy on his feet alone, his father went to the front. Mom, who became an angel on Earth for little Glory, instilled in the boy a love for the beauty of the surrounding world and nature, for reading and Russian folk art.

The early biography of Vyacheslav Zaitsev is alarming and sad. Year of birth - 1938 - did not favor a normal well-fed life. The family was starving, a seven-year-old boy was forced to manage the household himself, his mother worked day and night. He loved her so much that when she died in 1978, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Zaitsev felt that everything around him was completely meaningless.

School and technical school

Since 1945, Slava Zaitsev studied at high school the city of Ivanovo. Already in the childhood biography of designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev, his love for fine arts... At school, he helped an art teacher with posters for the circus, and subsequently created posters for theatrical performances.

The boy, in general, gravitated towards any art, sang wonderfully. As a child, he earned his living by singing, fed his mother. In 1952, Vyacheslav continued his studies, entering the Chemical Technology College. Successfully completing the assignments, Slava thought and evaluated how the fabric with his pattern would look on the finished dress.

In 1956, Zaitsev received a red diploma, the specialty "artist of textile design" guaranteed him a job in the "capital of chintz", the profession was chosen traditional for the city of Ivanovo.

University

He arrived in the capital to enter the textile institute in 1956 and was different from the local applicants. Selection committee discerned an outstanding talent in the young talent, besides, the provincial boy possessed good knowledge, so he was easily enrolled in the university.

But it was difficult to study there and live in a hostel for Slava. After graduating from the institute in 1962, Vyacheslav was assigned to the Experimental and Technical Garment Factory of the Moscow Regional Economic Council in the city of Babushkin. Appointed as artistic director, the designer set about creating a collection of clothing for rural workers. Nobody liked bright images, albeit saturated with the Russian spirit. But the magazine "Paris Match" published an article about Zaitsev entitled "He dictates fashion to Moscow."

Vyacheslav Mikhailovich gravitated towards folk art. The designer traveled to the cities of his country and studied the proportions, color combinations, rhythm and a kind of crude humanity of everything Russian.

Meanwhile, through classes at the Theater Library, he met with foreign fashion creators. The fame was impressed by Chanel, Paul Poiret, Christian Dior.

In 1965, the couturier met Marc Bohan and Pierre Cardin, in the Women Wear Daily in the article "Kings of Fashion" they first mentioned a talented Russian couturier.

Zaitsev devoted 13 years to the fashion house and left there, being the deputy artistic director. He created for the workers of many factories, factories and enterprises in all cities of Russia. Zaitsev took into account both the seasonality and the age of the person who will wear his clothes, and the climate, and the level of the enterprise. He still did not understand how it was possible to distort the artist's idea and release into the world something completely different from what the creator intended, to ship the result to stores, passed through the prism of the Soviet nomenclature.

The only woman, with whom he was ready to go through his whole life, but with whom it turned out to be together, unfortunately, only 9 years, was his wife Marina. The fashion designer did not marry anymore and did not even want to consider options, devoting himself to creativity 100%.

They met Marina while still at the institute, together they participated in student amateur activities. A beautiful, active, talented girl from a wonderful family. Her dad served as a military engineer pilot, her mother was a ballerina at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater. Slava's dad was like an enemy of the people, and mom was a simple worker. It turned out to be a misalliance, but you cannot order feelings.

In the second year, in 1959, after a funny performance in which the young man almost lost his pants, Marina brought Slava to her house near the Aeroport metro station. The romance of a girl from an elite family and a beggar but talented fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev began. Biography, wife, children, photos, newspaper chronicles, scandals and fried facts - all these things were not so exaggerated before as they are now. Nevertheless, many understood that the alliance between the young was doomed to failure. Marina's mother disliked Vyacheslav from the first minutes, sincerely considering him a beggar who wanted to "steer" at the expense of her daughter.

But in 1959, the couple got married. The wedding was attended by two witnesses - Marinina's friend Svetlana and Slava's friend at the institute Boris. Marina's mother rented a room for the newlyweds in the basement of their house. There the couple lived all nine years of marriage.

In 1960, the Zaitsevs had a son, Yegor, the mother-in-law refused to help with the child, and Vyacheslav called his mother to Moscow to help with her grandson. Slava studied and worked when he graduated from the institute, Yegor was two years old.

The hardest moment in personal biography Vyacheslav Zaitsev came in 1971 when he returned home from Hungary, where he was working on costumes for the film "Hold on to the Clouds". His mother-in-law kicked him out of his own house, meeting him at the entrance with the words: "Get out, I found the daughter of another husband!"

Zaitsev left with what was with him. An extravagant lady ended her life in an insane asylum, she had a bad heredity - it turns out that her grandfather had problems with mental development... The wife could not influence her mother, who, according to the designer, simply zombified her daughter. Marina was married to a circus performer, she also worked in a circus then.

Vyacheslav Mikhailovich is an optimist by nature. He recalls that when his wife did not let her mother into the house, there were a lot of happy moments. Not only the mother-in-law was the reason for the divorce - Marina was withdrawn, and Slava could not live without communication. The wife was jealous of her husband's beautiful long-legged models.

With his second wife, Inna, he lived very little, she annoyed him with her exorbitant love, emotionally "squeezed" him, this affected his work. He could not stand it, left her, despite the fact that she did a lot for him. You can't be cute.

After the divorce, Zaitsev was forbidden to see Yegor. Even phone calls were forbidden. New husband Marina drove Yegor out of the house. He put the boy on his knees on the peas. Vyacheslav's mother-in-law told her grandson that his father abandoned them and the boy needed to adopt a new dad.

Yegor had a difficult childhood, his father's son still cannot forgive. Today they are engaged in one business, nevertheless, each lives his own life, and the son would like dad to be closer to him. For months they do not call each other.

Yegor's first wife Dasha gave Vyacheslav Zaitsev a granddaughter Marusya. But this marriage did not last long. Yegor quarreled with his wife, and Zaitsev Sr. was very friendly with his daughter-in-law. After the divorce, the son of a famous fashion designer became addicted to drugs, but managed to get rid of the addiction in time.

Now Yegor has a second marriage, in which a child was also born. His wife Katya is a model, director and assistant to Vyacheslav Mikhailovich.

Vyacheslav Zaitsev nevertheless speaks very warmly of his son as a wonderful, intelligent, talented and generous person who is always ready to help.
