What is the sea in Vietnam and seaside resorts in this country

Today Southeast Asia has become a popular tourist destination. Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam are annually increasing the number of tourists received on their territory. Europeans and Russians go there to rest. They are not stopped by the long flight. They fly to look at the exotic and soak up the sun by the sea. And what is the sea in Vietnam? The correct answer is South China. Vietnam has many seaside resorts, which are located at the South China Sea. Therefore, today we will tell you about it in detail.

So, let's see what the South China Sea, which washes the coast of Vietnam, is. Vietnam is washed by this sea from the south and east. The rest of the borders are land. By the way, the South China Sea washes seven more countries in this region of the planet. In the northern part of the sea, in addition to Vietnam, it is China, Thailand, Cambodia. In the southwestern part there are Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Experts call this sea the Australian-Asian Mediterranean. Its basin is shared by the Pacific and Indian oceans. The largest gulf in the South China Sea is Siam. Its waters are washed by three countries: Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The maximum depth of the South China Sea reaches 5 and a half kilometers. The total area is 3.5 million square meters. km.

The weather in this Asian region is influenced by the monsoons. They drive the wet air masses to the coast. For this reason, Vietnam has a rainy season. During them, typhoons are possible in the South China Sea.

The salinity of the sea is 34%, which is not high compared to other seas. The water temperature changes depending on the season and the location of a particular resort in Vietnam.

In the northern part of Vietnam in winter, the sea temperature can be about 20 degrees, and at this time in the southern part it does not drop below 25. In summer, in the north and south of Vietnam, the temperature sea water about 27 degrees. Below you can see the location of the South China Sea on the map:

And one more interesting fact about the sea washing Vietnam. Indonesians and the Philippines do not count South China correct name this sea. Indonesians call it Indonesian. Several years ago, Filipinos also showed their "whims". President Benigno Aquino III even signed a decree to rename the South China Sea to the West Philippine Sea. So that on different maps you can find different names for the same sea.

Now that we have found out which sea is in Vietnam, let's look at its inhabitants. Coral islands of amazing beauty are scattered across the South China Sea. In many ways, they form a unique under water world of this water basin... Lives in coral reefs a large number of moray eels, the length of which can reach one meter. Another predator in these waters is the wart, which has a second name - stone fish. She received it for her mastery of camouflage.

On the back of the wart, there are poisonous rays, with which it can easily pierce the sole of the shoe. The poison is dangerous to humans by its paralyzing effect. Death is quite possible. Among the carnivorous representatives of the fauna of the South China Sea, there are still flutoryls and whistle fish. Due to the many predators of the rest of the inhabitants underwater world nature has endowed with various types of protection. This explains the many fish with needles, poison, shells, sharp edges, etc.

Several Yet prominent representatives fauna in the South China Sea off the coast of Vietnam. Octopuses, the image of which is often used by directors of horror films. However, octopuses are not at all aggressive and bloodthirsty. But they can protect themselves. Divers often love to catch clown fish in their shots. They have a very bright and unforgettable look.

Manty and stingrays are attracted by their diving technique. Diving experts say that if you follow the rules of scuba diving, then barracudas and moray eels are not dangerous to humans.

Many shark species can be found off the coast of Vietnam. There are coastal and inland views. The most dangerous are brindle, white, mako, long-finned and blue. But in fact, there are many more species of sharks. For example, hammerheads, reef sharks, nanny sharks, felines, zebra, bearded, prickly, etc. Sharks periodically appear on the beaches of the South China Sea and scare tourists. But this is a rarity, and you can safely look at sharks at the Institute of Oceanography on Winperl Island in Vietnam.

Sometimes the tides are carried out on the coast of Vietnam of small and dangerous inhabitants South China Sea. It is poisonous spiny fish, siphonophores, jellyfish. Are very poisonous blue-ringed octopus. So, before diving, you need to study in detail how to behave underwater.

The sea of Vietnam is beautiful and varied. Therefore, many divers come here to rest. The most attractive places are,. Experts say that the most successful time for diving in the sea of Vietnam is the period from late autumn to early summer.

True, it should be noted that the water world off the coast of Vietnam is not as diverse as in the depths. So, diving enthusiasts often practice deep-sea diving here. In the sea you can admire moray eels, stingrays, tuna, sharks, swordfish, marlin and other representatives of the fauna. As a result, the South China Sea attracts thousands of diving enthusiasts. Overall, it is well organized and affordable.

To have an idea of which sea is in Vietnam, you need to remember the geography and location of this country. It is located on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia, bordered by Laos, Cambodia and southern China.

Vietnam is a strong tourist attraction due to its warm climate and beaches. And it is also noteworthy that the climate varies from the north of the state to the south.

If the north is warm moderately tropical climate with the seasons of coolness, then in the south there is a tropical climate, so that any tourist can choose for himself which part of the country he should stay in.

So which sea or ocean is washing the country? And it is washed by only one single sea on both sides - South China... If you look at the map, it is located in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, so it turns out that the country is washed by one sea, but in fact, two oceans. This sea is also called the Australian-Asian Mediterranean and it washes two more countries: Thailand and Cambodia. Its maximum depth is 5-6 kilometers. The most interesting thing is that most of the sea in depth hardly reaches two hundred meters.

This sea is washed by such world-famous beaches as Phan Thiet and Mui Ne, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Phu Quoc.

Climate and purity of the South China Sea

Since the climate in this region is always quite warm, the sea is also usually warm. But due to the influence of the monsoons there are rainy seasons, so before choosing when to go, you should study the forecasts for different times of the year.

In summer, the water temperature can reach an average of +30 degrees Celsius, and in winter an average of +20 ° C, however, as mentioned above, the sea extends from the very south to the north of Vietnam, therefore different parts there are different temperatures.

For the beach (or, in other words, high) season in Vietnam last months winters and march are considered ideal for relaxation due to the almost complete absence precipitation. And the tropical rainy season begins in May and lasts until October-November. And it is at this time that there is a danger of heavy showers, storms and typhoons. However, when choosing the time and place of rest, it is worth considering that in the cool seasons it is better to choose the southern beaches of Vietnam, where, as a rule, the water temperature is always about the same.

Unfortunately, some of the South China coasts are not the cleanest. Beaches adjacent to major cities sometimes overcrowded various rubbish which is nevertheless sometimes removed. The water is often cloudy. But also in Vietnam there are pretty clean places where you can admire the transparency of the water.

Flora and fauna

Animal and vegetable world waters of the South China Sea incredibly diverse because of the favorable warm climate and location. While swimming, you can meet different mollusks, jellyfish, snakes, worms, sea urchins, starfish, as well as representatives of arthropods: crayfish, crabs, shrimps. The water contains a lot of algae and phytoplankton.

It is also very many types of fish(more than 1000), which differ in size and incredible colors. There is also commercial fish: eel, mackerel, tuna, sardine, herring.

but should beware of poisonous representatives seas such as: jellyfish, some fish and shellfish, octopuses. You should especially beware of sharks. There are a lot of them here. There are thorny, zebra, brindle, white, blue, feline, hammerhead, reef and others. But as a rule, they rarely attack people.

Famous beaches and resorts

There are many Vietnamese beaches that are extremely popular with tourists. The sun, the warm coast, the atmosphere ... What else is needed for happiness? But there are some nuances that must be taken into account when choosing a beach, because they are all different and there are many of them.

The most popular cities with beaches are Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, Doshon, Kyalo, Shamshon, Thanh Hoa. Consider the most famous:

  • Nha Trang

Nha Trang is one of the most famous and vibrant beaches in Vietnam, included to the list of the most beautiful coasts the world. It is famous for its colorful coastline with coral reefs... It is here that life and fun are in full swing. If you look at the map, you will notice that Nha Trang is located in the central part of Vietnam.

If you prefer active rest then this is the perfect place. There are diving, yachting, water scooters, surfing and various discos. At the same time, there is a health resort where you can enjoy the healing procedures in mineral waters, springs, mud baths, massage. Even in Nha Trang, you can visit the Oceanographic Institute, Monkey Island, and the water palace.

The city has several gorgeous beaches, and the coast itself is framed by islands. The islands of Che and Tam are the most attractive for tourists. Here you can actively relax or retire.

Due to its location in Nha Trang it is warm all year round, but in the rainy season, the air temperature can drop to +20 degrees.

  • Phan Thiet, Mui Ne

And for a vacation with a family, another well-known is more suitable Southern City along with Nha Trang - Phan Thiet. Beach stretches all along the coast cities to Cape Mui Ne, which is located in the village of Mui Ne, therefore they are considered one whole. This place is characterized by white fine sand and pine trees, palm trees and beautiful flowers that stretch along the coastline.

Mui Ne beach stretches as much 22 kilometers... In many places it is clean and tidy. And all over the beach there are various resorts and hotels of different classes, but of an excellent level. There is even an opportunity for tourists to relax in their own private bungalow.

In terms of entertainment, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are not inferior to Nha Trang: here you can perfectly relax, riding a surf or a water scooter, a motorcycle and more.

  • Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc Island beaches are the cleanest in Vietnam! This is what attracts many people. There is also a developed infrastructure and colorful landscapes.

  • Hoi an

Hoi An will do lovers of quiet rest... The resort is distinguished by its remoteness from the water, so many tourists get to the sea using maps and bicycles. Because of this, the beaches themselves are very calm, clean and secluded. The city itself is notable for its museums and cultural heritage.

  • Condao

Con Dao Island has about 20 sandy beaches. The place is known national park exotic plants , which occupies a significant part of the entire island. Dolphins and turtles can be seen here. Although only 5 beaches are listed, in fact there are many more. And each is unique in its own way. In any case, you can relax perfectly and regardless of the beach - admire the beauty of the South China Sea.

Mui Ne is a small village in the south of Vietnam, but it attracts Russian tourists very much. Why? One street is about 5 km long, along which hotels, cafes, bokeh (restaurants with live seafood), souvenir shops are built. The sea is restless, quite powerful waves and always strong wind. No wonder Mui Ne is called a paradise for surfers (and kitesurfers): they feel good here. But why tourists who expect to have a beach holiday go to Mui Ne, we do not understand.

Nevertheless, we personally felt this calm, pacifying atmosphere of Mui Ne: here you don't want to fuss, life flows calmly and measuredly. Maybe that's why our compatriots come here, neglecting the interesting, bright and beachy, but noisy and restless Nha Trang? One thing we know for sure: we would not have survived longer than a week in Mui Ne, it is good for a reboot, but not for a long life. Of course, this is our personal opinion, based on our rhythm of life and our interests.

Phan Thiet on Vietnam map:

What is the sea in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet?

News Vietnam is washed by the South China Sea, but it behaves differently in different coastal areas. As I wrote above, this sea in Mui Ne is restless.

The peculiarities of the location of the village are that the winds always blow here, all year round. Stronger than the wind they blow in winter - this time is called "season". In fact, it is a season for kitesurfers and surfers who are attracted to Mui Ne primarily by this constant wind allowing you to ride every day.

Mui Ne kitesurfing schools at every turn

But for ordinary tourists, the sea in Mui Ne is not very suitable: strong waves make it dangerous for swimming with children, plus kitesurfers and surfers are constantly spinning around the swimmers, which is why there is a threat of getting hit on the head with a board.

In the "off-season" (that is, in summer) the sea in Mui Ne is calmer, the winds are not so strong. However, the sea is unclear. After the rains, a lot of garbage is carried to the shore, which is why the beach is very dirty.

The beach in Mui Ne lasts along the only street. From the beginning of the street (we will consider the part that is closer to the Red Dunes as the beginning) and until about the middle, the beach looks extremely unpresentable: just steps into the sea, without a sandy strip. There are low tides, during which you can see a thin strip of wet sand, but mostly vacationers in hotels on this site have to swim, entering the sea from the stairs.

In the afternoon the sea reaches the steps

The other part of Mui Ne beach (which is located closer to Phan Thiet) looks pretty good: a wide sandy strip, sun loungers and umbrellas. We were on this beach in the "off season", in June, so the beaches are so deserted.

Every evening in Mui Ne we watched the low tide, during which many beautiful seashells appear on the shore.

We also noticed that there are a lot of jellyfish in Mui Ne, there are much fewer of them in Nha Trang, and they appear quite rarely, mainly in autumn.

Despite the fact that during our stay in Mui Ne the sea was quite calm, there was no desire to enter it and swim. Fortunately, our hotel had an excellent pool on the beach. By the way, we noticed that almost all the hotels on the shore in Mui Ne have a swimming pool. Maybe all the tourists, who have a rest in the village, just like us, are saved by the pool overlooking the sea?

It's fair to say that you can find a decent beach in Mui Ne. We read that one of these is available at the Sea Links hotel (the same one on the territory of which the Wine Castle is located).

You can choose and book a hotel in Mui Ne with good discounts here:

Distance from Nha Trang to Phan Thiet (Mui Ne)

Mui Ne is 220 km from Nha Trang, Phan Thiet is a little further - 240 km.

How much to go from Nha Trang to Mui Ne (Phan Thiet) and how to get

The easiest way to get from Nha Trang to Mui Ne is by an intercity bus - slipbass. A ticket for it can be bought at numerous street travel agencies in Nha Trang or at the bus stations of Sinh Tourist, Hanh Café, Futa Bus, Nam Phuong. We bought a ticket from The Sinh Tourist, a ticket for one person cost 109,000 VND ($ 4.6).

On the way, the bus is about 5 hours, but they fly very quickly: in the slipbass you can sit comfortably, practically lying down, sleep, read, watch interesting videos(there is free Wi-Fi). The bus makes 2 stops for 15-20 minutes, during which you can go to the toilet, have a snack in a cafe or just stretch your legs.

Slipbas Nha Trang-Mui Ne

Riding from Nha Trang to Mui Ne on a bike is quite difficult, and we strongly advise against overcoming this path in this way. The point is not only fatigue, but also in huge wagons that drive at a breakneck speed along the highway, under the wheels of which our Russian guys very often die, traveling between cities on their own. The Vietnamese deal with trucks very carefully, there is an unwritten rule here: the larger the car, the more important it is. Russians, on the other hand, are accustomed to equal rights on the roads, and perhaps that is why it all ends tragically.

Distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne (Phan Thiet) and how to get there

From Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet - 191 km, to Mui Ne - 214 km.

The road from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne on the map:

You can get there in the same way as from Nha Trang - by slipbass. Travel time and ticket price are the same: about 5 hours and 110,000 VND ($ 4.6).

Nha Trang or Mui Ne (Phan Thiet): which is better?

For us, the answer to this question is obvious: of course Nha Trang! Mui Ne has only one single superiority - low population, and as a result of this, serenity. For some, another advantage of Mui Ne, in comparison with Nha Trang, is the cheapness of housing. It really is: take off small house possible for just $ 150−170.

You cannot find such prices in Nha Trang, for this amount per month you can only rent a room in a guest house. But for us, this plus is not a plus, since we do not want to live in small "vietnam style" houses, and there are simply no modern European-style apartments in Mui Ne.

You can, of course, live not in Mui Ne, but in Phan Thiet itself. This city is quite modern, slightly smaller than Nha Trang in size, but with a developed infrastructure: apartment buildings, shopping centers and places for walking.

Deserted main street in Mui Ne, and it's already lunch time

Where are all the people?

And this is Phan Thiet: livelier here

But all the same, Phan Thiet (and even more so Mui Ne) loses to Nha Trang by many criteria:

  • Sea. In Nha Trang, even on the city beach during the season (from April to September), the sea is calm, transparent, without waves. Well, or with small waves occasionally bringing garbage, but in Mui Ne this garbage and these waves are constant, and in Nha Trang it is a temporary phenomenon. And not far from Nha Trang there are paradise beaches from the "bounty" category:,. You can spend all weekends there.
  • Infrastructure. Not even in Mui Ne big shops where you can buy household items. For everything you need to go to Phan Thiet, which takes time and money (if you don't have your own bike). In Mui Ne there are only small Vietnamese shops like "all in one heap" and a few supermarkets, but the prices are higher than in ordinary shops. There are no hospitals in Mui Ne (only small private clinics), but what am I talking about - there is not even a gas station in Mui Ne! Seriously, to refuel your bike, you need to find a petrol cart outside some cafes. This gasoline is more expensive than at gas stations, and its quality can only be guessed at - any Vietnamese will not miss the opportunity to dilute gasoline for extra profit.

Refueling with chickens on the way to Phan Thiet

There are some pretty bridges in Phan Thiet

  • Sights and places of interest. If in Nha Trang you need to choose what to visit, then in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet you can see everything in 2 days. And spend the rest of the day exclusively on the beach or by the pool. Maybe for someone this is a plus. Of course, you can always find excursions from Mui Ne to other cities.
  • Fun with children... In Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, we found only two entertainments for children: a mini-zoo near Fairy Creek and a children's play area in Lotte Martha in Phan Thiet. For comparison, in Nha Trang for children there are play areas in each mall(and theirs), an amusement park, where for 10-15 thousand dongs you can ride any attraction, climb the maze, catch toy fish and go to the 5-D cinema. There is also Winperl in Nha Trang. And a lot of children's stores. Read our article about.
  • Transport... Of course, there is a local shuttle bus in Mui Ne that runs between Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. As a matter of fact, more is not needed there. In Nha Trang, the distances between objects are quite large, but you can get to any place by city bus for 8000 VND ($ 0.4)... And even Zoklet beach, located 50 km from Nha Trang, can be reached by a regular bus for 24,000 VND ($ 1)... I believe that transport in Nha Trang is developed acceptable - it is convenient both for local residents and for tourists.

Summing up, we see how much more advantages Nha Trang has over Mui Ne. I understand that there are people who tenderly love MUI ne for peace and quiet, we and ourselves liked him for his peace. But we ourselves would choose Mui Ne only for a short-term vacation, when you just want to relax by the sea or the pool. But not for a busy vacation, and even more so for a long life.

Watch a short video from Mui Ne:

Vietnam is not Indonesia or Miami, where the shores are washed by real ocean waves. But the South China Sea is very different from the well-known Black Sea, because it is not located inside the mainland, but only partially separated from the Pacific Ocean by islands, and it lives according to other laws that you need to know before entering the water.

The first and the most important rule: on the beautiful and attractively deserted "wild" beaches, you can only admire the scenery, listen to the music of the waves and wander along the very edge of the surf. Swimming in an unfamiliar place is like playing Russian roulette. And here it does not matter at all what sports category you were assigned in your student years!

Naturally, in the civilized areas of the coast, where lifeguards are on duty, no one guarantees you 100% safety. Large water is no more predictable element than a hurricane. But following the recommendations will definitely not harm vacationers. Believe me, no one wants to ruin your vacation by forbidding you to enter the sea, which at first glance seems calm and safe. Just professionals on the tower have a lot of experience and have more complete information about the weather, currents and underwater fauna. Hence the second rule: never ignore red flags and other rescuer warnings.

The strength of the ebb and flow in the South China Sea is very great, the water here can "go away" by 10-11 meters, which significantly changes the behavior of the waves. Over and over again, rolling onto land, large masses of water rush back into the depths. The result is one of the most dangerous phenomena for a bather, known as "reverse flow". A channel is formed perpendicular to the coast, along which the water is rapidly moving into the open sea. If someone happens to be in such a "rip", then the current literally in a few seconds will carry him from the beach for tens of meters.

Paradoxically, the fatal factor is not distance or tremendous speed, but attempts to escape. An instinctive impulse in such a situation makes you swim to the shore at all costs. Unfortunately, physical capabilities man and nature are incomparable. The most enduring and trained are very quickly exhausted in a useless struggle with the flow of water and perish. Although there are only a few things to know to be saved.

  • Often outwardly, the rip does not manifest itself in any way, but when entering the sea or ocean, you should be alarmed by the unusual color of the water compared to the rest of the surface (for example, white against a blue or turquoise background), a strip of seething water vertical to the horizon, moving along a similar line deep into algae or foam, an unexpected "bald patch" in a continuous ridge of waves (deceptively calm area several meters wide when around the waves).
  • If you feel that you are suddenly carried into the open sea, the most important thing is not to panic and remember that the rip current is superficial and never drags a victim who is confidently afloat to the bottom.
  • To get out of the water channel, you need to move not to the shore, but ALONG it, that is, turn to the right or left and swim parallel to the land. Since the rip is usually no more than 40-50 meters wide, you will soon feel that you have left danger zone, and you can safely return to solid ground.

Another invisible threat to bathers is jellyfish. “Unpleasant, but not fatal,” you say? Typical delusion a person who, on vacation, came across only relatively harmless aurelia living in the seas of temperate and tropical belts... The fact is that a deadly sea wasp lives in the salt waters from the northern coast of Australia and New Guinea to the Philippines and Vietnam. Due to its transparent body, this box jellyfish is hardly visible in water, and each of the 60 tentacles up to 3 meters long conceals a neurotoxin charge that can kill an adult in a few minutes.

In recent years, other dangerous for tourists have been recorded in Southeast Asia. Marine life- poisonous physalia or " portuguese boats". In fact, these organisms are not jellyfish, although they look similar to them. The stinging cells on the tentacles cause severe and very painful burns. They can be fatal for children, the elderly, allergy sufferers and people with heart disease.

Warning signs in several languages inform about the appearance of jellyfish, stingrays, scorpions and other unwanted guests in the coastal waters on the landscaped areas of the coast. But sharks, which are often feared by tourists who first find themselves on the shores of the tropical sea, do not swim to crowded beaches. You can only see them while diving away from land.

And finally, a rule that is relevant for relaxing on every body of water anywhere in the world, whether it is a quiet Russian river, a lake in the Alps or the ocean: never go into the water while intoxicated, even if it’s just to “freshen up”. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

One of the new tourist destinations recent years in Russia - Vietnam. Russians have been loved in this country since the times Soviet Union, which in the 60s of the twentieth century helped the young republic to get out of the yoke of the United States. Vietnam pleases warm sea, low prices and friendly residents.

Geographically, Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia. From the north, it is adjacent to China, the western border is combined with Laos and Cambodia. The east and south of the country are washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The seas in Vietnam are different. Most of its coast is bordered by South China Sea, with the same name and Tokinsky bays. And a very small piece in the south of the country belongs to the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Phu Quoc Island is also located there.

The coast of Vietnam is conditionally subdivided into 3 parts. Each of them has its own characteristics and even its own climate.

Let's start from the north. Here it is capital of the country - Hanoi... This is the coldest and wettest part of the country, especially in the hinterland. The main attraction here is Halong Bay - a bay with thousands of islands. The place is fantastically beautiful, especially when viewed from a high point. Sheer rocky cliffs covered with greenery "Stick out" out of the water and create a sense of the unreality of the world.

The northern part of the Vietnamese coast is not very suitable for beach holiday... The coastline is too indented and covered with many islands. In the same part of the sea, but slightly to the south, is the famous Chinese island-resort of Hainan. North and Central Vietnam is a treasure trove of discovery for the exploration traveler. These places have not yet been touched by the foot of a mass tourist. There is still an opportunity to see Vietnam in its original form.

The southern part of the country already boasts large quantity resort areas. More precisely, all the main resorts of Vietnam are located here. This area is developing intensively. In the near future, it will become as popular as Thailand. At least the country's government has such ambitious plans. Many cities and monuments are included in the UNESCO heritage - it says a lot. The climate here is tropical, warmer and drier than in the northern regions.

Seen from the north, this region begins with resorts:

  • Hue- cultural, historical center, there are a lot of monuments and architectural objects;
  • Hoi an- Chinese town in the middle of Vietnam;
  • Da Nang- an old resort town with excellent infrastructure.

Far to the south is one of the most popular resort among Russian tour operators - Nha Trang. The weather is beautiful here almost all year round. Here are the most fun entertainment and the best spas in Vietnam. Here are the most beautiful beaches. An ideal place to relax.

  • Phan Thiet Mui Ne- these two connected towns are a place for carefree relaxation, culinary discoveries and aquatic species sports;
  • Dalat- a resort not far from the coast, in the mountains, at an altitude of almost 1500 meters. Almost alpine landscapes, forests, lakes, waterfalls. It is definitely worth a visit, especially for those who do not like the heat;
  • Ho Chi Minhsouthern capital Vietnam. It is also called in the American manner - Saigon. The city of restaurants and brothels. Now there is nothing left of the past "Glory", but there are hundreds of opportunities for relaxation. It's business, political center country. There is a large airport from where vacationers from all over the world are distributed along the coast;
  • - complete relaxation in the middle national park and fishing villages.

If you decide to visit Vietnam not only for the sake of the beaches, then we advise you to start exploring it from the north and move to the south. And to finish the trip already on the tropical beaches near Ho Chi Minh, or on the Fukuoka lost in the waters of Siam.

Enjoy your stay!

Even a long flight to Southeast Asia no longer confuses the Europeans, who are diligently mastering the mysterious Vietnam after Thailand and Cambodia. There is enough exotic here, and the sea of Vietnam is a great way to relax after long road, relieve stress and plunge into the abyss of pleasant impressions and sensations.

Comfort zone

When asked which sea washes Vietnam, geographic atlases give the only correct answer - South China. It is part of the water basin, which experts call the Australian-Asian Mediterranean Sea... This name was born because this body of water connects these two parts of the world, and the sea of Vietnam itself represents both the Indian and Pacific oceans simultaneously.
The water temperature in the South China Sea depends on geographic coordinates measurement points and seasons. In the north of Vietnam, it can drop to +20 degrees in winter, while in the south, even in January, the thermometer will show at least +25 degrees. V summer months the sea is equally warm and comfortable throughout the entire area and its temperature values are kept at around +27 degrees.

The wealth of the deep

When asked which seas in Vietnam, divers will willingly answer - "The most suitable for diving." It is the South China Sea that keeps many interesting sites, which thousands of fans of the underwater world come to see every year. An important reason to fly to the sea of Vietnam is the price issue: by all accounts, diving here is cheap, but well-organized.
The main "stars" of diving in the South China Sea:

  • Octopuses. Some individuals are quite worthy of acting in horror films, but at the same time they remain quite friendly.
  • Clown fish, making underwater photography especially successful with their painted appearance.
  • Stingrays and manta rays, fascinating with their silent and smooth underwater gliding technique.
  • Moray eels and barracudas are absolutely not dangerous if you follow all the rules of underwater swimming.

The most attractive places for diving in Vietnam are Phu Quoc Island and the resorts of Nha Trang and Hoi An. Most favorable season for scuba diving in the sea of Vietnam begins in late autumn and continues until the first days of summer.

For sunbathers

The beaches of Vietnam are fine and clean white sand, clear water with a gentle entrance to it and excellent infrastructure on the coast. Here you can always dine in a cafe or restaurant, and the menu will be based on the freshest seafood and fish caught in the morning by local fishermen.
