One school incident played a role in Ales' education. To prove his point, as well as to expand knowledge in this area, Ales decided to become a teacher.

The viewer knows Ales as a player and captain with a clear civil position, ready to defend the interests of the team. During the period of leadership in the games “What? Where? When?" there were enchanting victories and high-profile conflicts.

Since the beginning of March 2016, the strongest player, two-time winner of the Crystal Owl, owner of the Diamond Owl, winner of the What? Where? When?" . He left the game quietly, without scandal, so the audience realized it by the end of the summer, but this outcome was expected.

In 2014, Ilya Novikov acted as a lawyer in the case. From an interview for fontanka.ru, it is known that the expert informed the producer of the What? Where? When?" O possible consequences scandalous case and agreed to leave the team at any time. For a couple of years, Novikov combined games (Mukhin's team was the winner three times, Novikov was recognized as the best player) and advocacy.

As representatives of the program explained, the situation is directly related to politics, and the participants of “What? Where? When?" should be far from it. For the audience there is no Ilya Novikov-lawyer, only a connoisseur.

In 2016, by the end of the Savchenko case, disputes and scandals around litigation became impossible to ignore. The producer, according to Ilya, asked Novikov to abandon the upcoming games. The connoisseur agreed with the verdict and left the program before filming the spring series of games. Captain Ales Mukhin and other team members, following Novikov, refused to participate in the game.

Mukhin's team in 2018

Last Sunday, one of the best players Moscow elite club "What? Where? When?", winner of the "Crystal Owl" prize and the title of "Best Club Captain" Ales Mukhin flew to Almaty to become the host of the penultimate game of the Almaty club. And the players from his team became experts - Stanislav Mereminsky and Mikhail Malkin.

- Ales, how do you like Almaty? Were you able to walk around and see the city?

I liked Almaty last time, when we opened the Almaty elite club "What? Where? When?". First of all, I liked the people. Maybe I was so lucky, but I communicate with the organizers, last time there was a lot of communication with the guests. We walked along your pedestrian boulevard, people came up to us there, talked, and I liked some kind of internal openness of people. This is very cool, it seems to me that this means that the country is on the right way, because people are not embittered, but, how would it be correct to say, well, correct word- open.

I liked Almaty also because the city is trying to preserve some spirit of the city with history, and at the same time there are a lot of author's new buildings. If Astana is, in principle, new town with some fabulous buildings, then in Almaty this is done by separate areas. For example, your bypass road on the way to The Ritz-Carlton (business center "Esentai Tower" - Auth.), this deserves respect, I have seen this in the most developed countries the world, and it is very pleasing. There is no such thing in Belarus.

- Thank you, this is a compliment for all Almaty residents. You went to the mountains today. How do you like Medeu? Skating?

You know, we didn't go skating, it was very foggy today, and there was not much time, because we had to prepare for today's event. We went to Medeu in order to touch a piece of our common history. We all know that a lot of European, world records were set on Medeu. And of course I just wanted to see how it is - the largest high-mountain skating rink in the world and remains so as before.

And, of course, Shymbulak. The cable car is one of the longest in the world, well, we rode for a very long time. We had a very foggy day today, and at some point, when the cable car was high above ground level, there was a very strange feeling: you are in the fog, and it goes so quietly, especially on one of the long hauls, it’s even incomprehensible that you are standing or you eat. Even mild claustrophobia began - well, in a good way.

It's great, well done, that you support the infrastructure. surprised me a large number of vacationers. And they rode from the mountains, and students came to Medeu in whole buses. It turned out that Kazakhstan is a sports country! This is wonderful!

You worked as a director of a perfume company, then at Euroset, then a business not related to mobile communication. By the way, which one?

Now I manage the largest holding in Belarus for the production and sale of tea and coffee.

- Why tea?

First, it's good for people. There is such a social moment. I was offered some employment related to those products that are not always useful to people. It still seemed to me that tea and coffee is such a thing that is always needed, and this is an eternal business if it is built correctly. Always want to work with confidence tomorrow. Well, plus to this, these are colonial goods, which give a good margin and make it possible, with a competent approach, to sell them well, to sell a lot. It so happened that in this company the owner is primarily a marketer. And, of course, it was important to arrange the business process in such a way that everything worked well. And I've been with this company for ten years.

- What are your volumes? Do you sell tea only on the territory of Belarus?

No, over the years we have already built a large coffee plant in Belarus. And he started shipping including on Russian Federation. And there were even shipments to Kazakhstan, but this is not a systematic business. We are interested in the Kazakh market. This is ground coffee called Barista MIO. We had an interesting advertising campaign, where I am, Vadim Galygin and another Belarusian celebrity - a singer, we made some noise on the Internet. And our company is big, there are more than a thousand people working there.

What are these jumps in the field of activity connected with - with your versatility, or do you just go with the flow and see where it is better to turn?

In fact, if you look deeply, there are no differences, because for the last exactly 20 years I have been managing people. I manage people, being the captain of the "What? Where? When?" team, I manage people in the Belarusian club "What? Where? When?" as well as in Euroset, in a laundry and courier company. And what the business is based on is already a question of long-term or short-term strategy, these are slightly different questions. But basically I do the same thing everywhere.

- That is, first of all, you are a manager?

- In general, you are a historian by education. Apparently, the first makings of a connoisseur went from there?

I went into history because I initially had an interest in history and geography since childhood. At the age of six, I knew the capitals of all countries of the world, for example, the outlines - how they look, who borders with whom, how and why exactly such borders were formed. But why the borders were formed in this way is already history. That is, it is impossible to get carried away with geography, especially political, without owning some historical moments. Therefore, when the question of higher education arose, I understood that my English was strong and I was attracted to history.

Besides, historical science implies not only the presence historical disciplines. We had such subjects as logic, rhetoric, which are extremely important in modern world in any case, in the same management, and in the game "What? Where? When?".

- That is, you combine both a hobby, and business, and life in one thing?

First of all, this is a hobby that has turned into a piece of life. Firstly, because it has been possible to show good results in the Moscow club for many years. And this story could have ended pretty quickly if it didn't work out. And when we opened the Belarusian TV club nine years ago, it was very difficult. It's very heavy creative process associated with "What? Where? When?" is one of the technologically sophisticated television programs. Our Moscow colleagues have developed a whole brand book "What? Where? When?", which we call "bible" among ourselves.

- In terms of mentality, how does the game differ in Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus? What are the main differences?

It was a discovery for me not only that the Kazakhs are sports people, but also that they are very reckless.

- We even have our own Las Vegas - the city of Kapchagay. Have you been there?

From the first game we went there for an after-party, to one of the casinos, they were our partners. We stopped by to visit them, to see how your casinos look like. Although I do not play in a casino, this is not of any interest to me, but nevertheless it was interesting to get to know the guys.

The first difference between the Kazakhs is passion. Secondly, I was pleasantly surprised by the intellectual level of the teams that played in the two games I attended. With what confidence they took very difficult questions, for me it was a revelation, to be honest. Because I understand that these are people who have never played "What? Where? When?". For me, this means that they have a very strong background, which is very cool.

- With whom did you make friends from Kazakhstani clubs?

We mostly communicate with the organizers, I really liked their approach to business, I liked the high bar they initially raised the game to. Therefore, we really have some kind of communication, not only when I'm here, we consult on the formulas of the game or technical issues. I can say that usually I don't communicate with the organizers as much as I do with the guys here.

- You mentioned Kazakhstan. What is the difference between the game in Belarus?

You know, we have a very kind club. I am often told that it is necessary to be angrier with experts. This is said even by the audience, who usually root for experts. Maybe this is due to the fact that I am a player myself and I am internally for them. But kindness also has limits, and the main point is that we always strictly adhere to the rules of the game. Well, the charisma of the leader is still a very important thing. It matters who is in charge. The question is not even in the rules, but in how he knows how to catch the audience, what kind of signature serve he has. In this sense, you are lucky and you have a whole parade of leaders.

- You are a perfectionist. Does it help or hinder you more?

I am a perfectionist, I try to be one, but not in every step, otherwise I would be some kind of tortured cracker, a bore. It helps most of the time at work. I am a perfectionist in those things that I understand, which are priorities for me. This is where I try to do my best.

Ales, by the end of our conversation, I will probably ask the most unpleasant question for you. About your team player Ilya Novikov and Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko. Comment on what it was.

All comments have already been given. We missed the season, now we are playing with a new line-up. We mentally prepared for this season for a long time, we prepared hard for it in order to play with this coach and this squad.

We had a team, soldered for years. If, in general, one of the players can, in principle, be changed, then the team that was formed at the time of Ilya's departure was the strongest over the past 10 years. We have proven this with results. Become the best team year, Ilya received a diamond owl. And then it's the same as in football - the main striker left.

You know, I am very sorry when internal circumstances, either family or, as in this case, business, prevent one of the guys who are part of my team from continuing to play in the team. For example, Inna Druz moved to the USA, she no longer plays in my team. Although we played together for many years, she returned to us after her pregnancy.

This is Ilya's advocacy - it was a widely publicized case that did not allow him to confine himself to professional terms. Although before that he defended it for more than a year and played at that time. Therefore, I cannot blame the TV group for anything, they acted as correctly as possible. It was clear that as soon as Ilya begins to comment on this case in some political plane, he cannot be the face of Channel One and at the same time adhere to some political views. That is, it is a conflict of interest.

We are also represented in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia - that is, there are a lot of internal conflicts. "What where When?" trying to stay out of politics as much as possible. I adhere to these views. As soon as we declare this or that political position, the game will cease to be a game in its purest form and will turn ... into what we already see everywhere, but we really do not want this.

Was there any clashes within the team? Have you tried to persuade Ilya to stay in the game and drop Savchenko's defense?

No, it was Ilya's conscious decision, we supported his position. This is not because some evil uncles or aunts have done something behind my or Ilya's back. This is a decision that I, as the captain of the team, respected. Many thought that without Ilya, having played together for many years before, we probably would not be able to play in such a line-up, simply by replacing one player. Actually, that's what happened. That project, that team just ceased to exist.

Photo of the organizers of the game "What? Where? When?" Almaty

- Is it difficult with the new team?

With those guys, it was also harder until we got used to each other. Each team, when everything changes so categorically, it's like new life. I have another coming to the game "What? Where? When?" like a newbie. Of course, the role of the captain is huge, but he cannot, whatever he may be, make the game alone. I have a team with experienced players, but no experience in an elite club. For example, Stas Mereminsky and Mikhail Malkin are guys who have been playing "What? Where? When?" for many years. and winners in many tournaments, but Mikhail played in the same team for many years, then for a long time didn't play. Stas also did not play in the elite club for many years. The girls from Minsk, who are in my team, played in the Belarusian club for a long time, but they never played in Moscow either.

As long as it doesn't work out for us, I'm not happy with the game. In the summer we lost. Of course, those who are worried about us blamed the “top” for everything, it was a very nervous, disturbing game. As soon as we take some questions, a feeling of comradeship appears - we will get some kind of super blitz. There was no normal game, there was some kind of tempo-rhythm game. Or there was some rather simple question, but we could not cling to something, we discussed it for three minutes. And we did find the right answer in the third minute, but it did us a disservice, because on next question we had to respond early. And at the same time, both Stas and Misha had the same answers, they were allowed to answer, but both turned out to be wrong. But it's okay, we are optimists, we look to the future. In 2018, we hope that everything will be fine. The team has a lot of potential.

- Do you communicate with Ilya now?

I continue to communicate with Ilya. Literally on the way to Almaty, we met, had a great evening, had dinner, discussed his current life and mine. We are friends and have been friends all these years. I try to public life my team's players didn't stop us from being human. And Ilya is a man with a capital letter, there is no question.

An excerpt characterizing Mukhin, Ales Vasilyevich

“They made me a proposition about you,” he said, smiling unnaturally. “I think you guessed,” he continued, “that Prince Vasily came here and brought his pupil with him (for some reason, Prince Nikolai Andreevich called Anatole a pupil) not for my beautiful eyes. I made a proposition about you yesterday. And since you know my rules, I treated you.
“How can I understand you, mon pere?” said the princess, turning pale and blushing.
- How to understand! the father shouted angrily. - Prince Vasily finds you to his liking for his daughter-in-law and makes you a proposition for his pupil. Here's how to understand. How to understand?! ... And I ask you.
“I don’t know about you, mon pere,” the princess said in a whisper.
- I? I? what am I? then leave me aside. I won't get married. What do you? Here is what you want to know.
The princess saw that her father looked at this matter with unkindness, but at that very moment the thought came to her that now or never the fate of her life would be decided. She lowered her eyes so as not to see the look, under the influence of which she felt that she could not think, but could only obey out of habit, and said:
“I desire only one thing - to fulfill your will,” she said, “but if my desire had to be expressed ...
She didn't have time to finish. The prince interrupted her.
“And wonderful,” he shouted. - He will take you with a dowry, and by the way, he will capture m lle Bourienne. She will be a wife, and you ...
The prince stopped. He noticed the effect these words had on his daughter. She lowered her head and was about to cry.
“Well, well, I’m kidding, I’m kidding,” he said. - Remember one thing, princess: I adhere to those rules that the girl has every right to choose. And I give you freedom. Remember one thing: the happiness of your life depends on your decision. There is nothing to say about me.
- Yes, I don't know ... mon pere.
- Nothing to say! They tell him, he will marry not only you, whom you want to marry; and you are free to choose ... Come to yourself, think it over and in an hour come to me and say in front of him: yes or no. I know you will pray. Well, please pray. Just think better. Go. Yes or no, yes or no, yes or no! - he shouted even at that time, as the princess, as if in a fog, staggering, had already left the office.
Her fate was decided and decided happily. But what the father said about m lle Bourienne - this hint was terrible. Not true, let's say, but all the same it was terrible, she could not help but think about it. She was walking straight ahead through the conservatory, seeing and hearing nothing, when suddenly the familiar whisper of m lle Bourienne woke her up. She raised her eyes and saw Anatole two paces away, embracing the Frenchwoman and whispering something to her. Anatole s terrible expression on beautiful face looked back at Princess Marya and in the first second did not let go of the waist of m lle Bourienne, who did not see her.
