Boris Mikhailovich Moiseev (real surname Moises) - Soviet and Russian dancer, actor, choreographer, crooner... Honoured Artist Russian Federation(2006). Known for his outrageousness and mannerism. His main hit is the song "Blue Moon".

Childhood and adolescence

Boris Mikhailovich Moiseev (Moises) was born on March 4, 1954 in the city of Mogilev (Belarus) in a local prison. His mother's name was Genya Borisovna Moises, she was Jewish and was imprisoned as a political prisoner. According to Boris himself, his mother was condemned for just one impartial statement about the Communist Party of the USSR. The boy never saw his father and did not even know for certain who he was. According to one version, that man worked as the head of the block in the prison where Genya was sitting, and helped the woman in every possible way. According to another version, it was an unknown business trip, who was once in Mogilev, and Genya herself had never been in prison.

Be that as it may, little Borya became the third son of his mother. The woman dreamed of a daughter and throughout her third pregnancy she was sure that she would have a long-awaited girl, so she sewed girls' shirts with embroidery for the future baby. When a son was born instead of a daughter, Genya still dressed him in these girlish clothes and even at an older age bought girlish things for her son. The neighbors of this family, who lived in the Jewish district of the city of Mogilev, said that little Borya really resembled a girl: he was fair-haired and curly, blue-eyed and affectionate. He slept in the same bed with his mother for a very long time, even when he was no longer a child, but a teenager.

Boris had two half-brothers - Anatoly (born 1941) and Marx (born 1943). Their father went to the front and did not return, and then it became known that he was alive and had new family in Lithuania. Genya Borisovna was forced to work almost continuously at the Mogilev tannery in order to provide everything the three children needed. The life of this woman ended very tragically: she was already bedridden when suddenly a deaf-mute neighbor broke into her room, confusing the door, and killed the unfortunate woman with a crutch. It happened in 1989, when his son Boris was on tour in the United States. In memory of his mother, he dedicated the song "Deaf-mute love".

As a child, Borya was weak, often ill. To improve her son's health, my mother sent him to a dance club. There, the boy was able not only to strengthen his body, but also to reveal himself as a person, to be liberated. Borya felt that dancing is his vocation for life. Therefore, after graduating from school, at the age of fourteen, he left for the capital of the Republic of Minsk and entered the Minsk Choreographic School. His teacher was the ballerina Nina Mlodzinskaya, who once performed with famous Anna Pavlova. Thus, Boris Moiseev has a classical dance education.

Career start: dances, performances and solo performances of Boris

After the Minsk Choreographic School, Boris enters the Kharkov Opera House, where his career in the ballet troupe is developing very rapidly: from crowd artist to choreographer-director. In 1975, Moiseev changed his place of residence to the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, known at that time for its freedom and relative independence, even as part of Soviet Union... At first, Boris was a simple dancer in the local musical theater, but soon "grew" to the position of the chief choreographer of the "Trimitas" orchestra.

Moiseev more and more deviated from the classics and preferred the stage. To implement his ideas, after three years in Kaunas, he created his own dance group - the dance trio "Expression". It happened in 1978. In addition to Boris himself, there were two spectacular girls - Larisa (Lari) Nikolaevna Khitana (after Romanov's husband) and Lyudmila Chesnulyavichyute. The trinity performed in the famous Jurmala variety show “Juras Perle” (“Sea Pearl”), where Laima Vaikule began her career.

Alla Pugacheva often came there and drew attention to the young and promising trio. The future Prima Donna invited Expressia to Moscow and personally contributed to the advancement of the team. The trio toured with Pugacheva and aspiring artists Kristina Orbakaite and Vladimir Presnyakov. In 1987, "Expression" matured to emerge from under the wing of Alla Pugacheva, and began its independent activity around the world.

For four years the Expression trio has been performing in clubs in Italy, France and America, and was often seen on the Rafaella Carra Presents TV show on the Italian Rai Due channel. Soon Boris was invited to the post of choreographer and stage director of the municipal theater in the American city of New Orleans. In 1991, "Expression" returned to Russia, and a documentary film about the popular trio was released on television.

Also in 1993, the performance "The show continues - in memory of Freddie Mercury" was presented to the audience. In all these performances, Boris Moiseev not only dances, but also sings. At first, the audience ambiguously perceives such an innovation from an eccentric dancer, but gradually gets used to his new image and manner of performance.

In the same 2010, the artist announced his intention to marry American Adele Todd. The public considered this to be another attempt by Moiseev to stir up interest in his person.

The singer and dancer responds by declaring that he is respectful of all religions and will never offend a single person. It was known that before that, Babkina's concert director began to work, but that Moiseev himself would change his occupation so dramatically, no one expected. The material was prepared on the basis of information from RIA Novosti and open sources

Boris Mikhailovich Moiseev (real name Moises) is a Belarusian dancer and choreographer, and later a pop singer, who became famous not least thanks to his shocking image. The artist's main hit is the song "Blue Moon", performed in a duet with Nikolai Trubach.

Childhood and adolescence

Boris was born in the Mozyr colony near Mogilev, where his mother, a Polish Jew by birth, was serving time under a political article. According to Boris, she, an intelligent woman with an incredibly difficult fate, who lost most of her family in concentration camps, was convicted for saying "I wanted to shit on your Communist Party."

Moiseev never saw his father, and so did not recognize his name. It is only known that this man worked in the same colony and did everything for the woman to be free. Boris believed that he was the head of the block, since the guards in the colony were women.

As the artist recalled, his mother dreamed of a girl, and throughout her pregnancy she sewed girls 'shirts with embroidery, and when her third son was born, she put these clothes on him and subsequently often bought him girls' clothes.

After the birth of her son, Genya Borisovna, an educated woman who speaks three languages, was forced to work for days at the Mogilev tannery to feed Boris and his two older half-brothers, Tolya (born 1941) and Marx (born 1943). Their father disappeared at the front, later it turned out that he started a new family in Lithuania.

In memory of his mother, Boris dedicated the song "Deaf-mute Love". The final page in the history of Genya Borisovna is connected with it. In 1989, when Moiseev was on tour in America, a drunken deaf-mute man broke into the woman's apartment, confusing the doors, and hit her with a crutch. The blow was fatal.

Boris grew up as a weak child, so the mother gave her son not to the sports section, but to dance studio at the local House of Culture. From that moment on, dancing became the main hobby of his life: it was on the stage that a modest introverted boy was able to fully relax and express his emotions.

At the age of fourteen, Boris entered the Minsk Choreographic School. The basics of classical dance were taught to him by the famous Nina Mlodzinskaya, who at one time performed on the same stage with Anna Pavlova herself.

Dance and music career

After graduating from college, Moiseev got into ballet troupe Kharkiv opera house, in which he made a meteoric career from a crowd scene artist to a choreographer-director. In 1975 the young dancer moved to Kaunas, Lithuania, where he became choreographer of the Trimitas Orchestra.

Over time, Boris began to move away from classical choreography and more and more inclined towards the pop genre. To embody his creative ideas on stage, he created the Expression trio, in which he brought in two spectacular dancers.

Trio "Expression" - Strange tango (1989)

The artists began performing in the popular seaside variety show "Juras Perle", in which Laima Vaikule began to sing. There, Alla Pugacheva, who was a frequent guest of Jurmala, drew attention to the young team. She invited the trio to Moscow and provided them with patronage in the capital's musical get-together. The team began touring with Prima Donna, Kristina Orbakaite and Vladimir Presnyakov, and in 1987 set off on an independent voyage.

For four years, the artists managed to work in the best clubs in Italy, France and America, appeared on Italian television, and Boris even staged numbers in the musical theater of New Orleans for some time.

After perestroika and the collapse of the Union, the team returned to their homeland and a year later presented to the audience a large-scale performance "Borya M + Boney M" with the participation of the legendary Boney M. From that moment the trio began to be called "Boris Moiseev and His Lady", and Moiseev himself began to sing. His first vocal experiments were received ambiguously by the public, but gradually the audience appreciated new image an artist who has relied on his unconventional orientation.

Boris Moiseev and Nikolay Trubach - "Blue Moon"

The performances "The Child of Vice" and "The Fallen Angel" caused a huge resonance, and the song "Blue Moon" finally secured the title of the first official gay on the national stage for Moiseev. All subsequent years Boris diligently exploited this image, shocking the audience with scandalous antics and unambiguous lyrics, among which real hits such as “Petersburg-Leningrad”, “Deaf Love” or “Two Candles” were periodically “fired”.

In parallel, the artist acted in films, participated in television shows and even was the host of the "Fashionable Sentence" program. In 2006 Boris received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
