We live on a beautiful, legendary Manych land. Gray mounds, endless wheat fields, greenery of gardens, the blue mirror of the Veselovsky reservoir - this is the modern landscape of the Veselovsky district. But, unfortunately, the so-called anthropogenic factor has changed beyond recognition and continues to change the nature of our steppes, soil cover and water bodies. Unreasonable management of man puts many species of animals and plants on the brink of extinction.
Various aspects of our life indicate to us that the modern way of life is not well. State environment has long dictated to us the need to change our attitude to the world around us. Human desire to live in a clean and prosperous world is natural, therefore, the topic of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources has long ceased to be the lot of only environmental activists. These questions have reached the level government agencies and became part of the activities of the widest circle of specialists who were faced with the task of forming an ecological worldview among the population, fostering a careful attitude towards natural resources and the environment.
At the beginning of the third millennium, it is time for all of us to finally proceed from the simple truth that we must live not in a struggle with the surrounding nature, but in harmony and complete agreement with it. It is necessary to respect the laws of nature - the basic laws of the existence of all life on Earth.
The peculiarity of environmental education in the activities of libraries is that this work is carried out indirectly, i.e. through familiarizing with reading books on this subject, developing the depth of their perception, understanding the essence of the problem.
In total, from March 22 to June 5, 2013, the district libraries held 90 events on environmental topics, attended by 1,550 people. During the events, 354 copies were presented. literature, issued 1670 copies.
Within the framework of the All-Russian Days of Protection from Environmental Hazard, a regional action "Read a book about nature" was held.
529 people took part in it, 1172 copies of literature were issued. Thus, 11 schoolchildren took part in the action in the Manych-Balabinskaya Security Council, they read 101 books. The results of the action were announced on June 5 in a solemn atmosphere. The winner was E. Silik, student of 4th grade, who read 41 books about nature. The children were awarded prizes. In the Krasnooktyabrskaya SB, 92 people took part in the action, 187 copies were issued. documents.
The most popular form of holding environmental events for all user groups is information days, information hours, talks, ecology hours, exhibitions.
The Malo-Zapadenskaya SB hosted the Day of Information "Call of the Earth, of which you are a particle." The library hosted an exhibition-dialogue "Living face of my earth", which presented not only natural science literature, but also children's drawings from the books they read. Environmental issues today are moral issues. The event consisted of several parts. The first part was devoted to unusual trees the world. The story of the librarian A.Yu. Sviridova was accompanied by a colorful slide presentation. The guys immediately recognized the baobab, but were surprised by the fact that it could be used as a home, a bathhouse, a restaurant and even a bus station. The next tree that was told about is sequoia. The slide showed an image in which a tunnel was made in a tree for the passage of cars. Children also liked the dragon tree, the colony of aspen-shaped poplar, cashew nut, acacia, "octopus" tree. The children were interested in Puia Raymonda, because she has the largest inflorescence in the world - 2.5 meters in diameter, 12 meters in height and it consists of 10 thousand simple flowers. It is a pity that this plant blooms once every 150 years, and then dies. The guys were especially surprised by the "Cannon Tree" - Kurupita Guiana, whose fruit is 25 centimeters in diameter and can easily kill a person.
The next part of the event was dedicated to the amazing plants listed in the Red Book of the Lipetsk region. The guys themselves named several protected plants. The librarian told the children about the most interesting plants: common heather, spring adonis, broad-leaved bell, snow-white water lily, white cinquefoil, sleep-grass and others. Also, the guys really liked the beautiful legend about the Lady's shoe. On the next slides, the children recognized snowdrops, forest trees, lilies of the valley, Snapdragon... These plants were familiar to them. The students were interested in the sandy cmin plant, or immortelle. One girl talked about how her grandmother is treated with this plant. The guys were surprised by the fact that the dried immortelle does not change for years and retains its shape and color, you can make a dry bouquet of it and put it in a vase as a memory of summer.
And then they all went together in the forest on a fairy glade, visiting Baba Yaga. The owner of the hut lives alone in the wilderness, there is a lot of rubbish around, and Baba Yaga does not want to put things in order.
Leshy informs her that children are wandering in the forest, rubbish is removed everywhere, trees are planted in the forest. The guys came to the clearing, but Baba Yaga chases them away, saying that she needs the garbage herself. The children convince her, and prove that it is impossible to litter the forest. Baba Yaga agrees with the guys and together with Leshim collects plastic bottles into the basket, and the fabulous meadow is immediately transformed. Baba Yaga promises to the children: “Now I will go to the hut, I will read books. I will become a good old woman, I will help people. "
At the end of the performance, the children were glad that Leshy and Baba Yaga became friends of nature. The event ended with a cheerful and cheerful song “I want the birds to sing!

Guys, now we invite you to a master class. Today we will make a magic flower together with you. Please note that the petals of this flower are made from birch bark. Such a flower will decorate your home, fill it with warmth, and you can also give it to relatives and friends. To make it, you need: birch bark, a plastic pot, birch twigs, a canvas cloth 6X15 cm, braid, plasticine, a pine cone, scissors, PVA glue.
Grease the pot with glue from the outside. Wrap it gently with a canvas rag. Wait for the glue to dry. Fill the inside of the pot with plasticine. We suggest making a flower stalk from birch twigs. You can use twigs of different thicknesses, and their number is from 5 to 25. Tie the twigs into a bunch and carefully fix it on the plasticine in the center of the pot. Secure the moss around.
